 PLEASE CLARIFY SECONDARY WATER BARRIER:
  
 1.)EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 1, 2007, SECONDARY WATER BARRIER
 REQUIRED FS553.844(5)(A). PROVIDE INFORMATION
 (PRODUCT APPROVAL OR SPECIFICATIONS) TO SHOW HOW YOU
 WILL COMPLY WITH THIS REQUIREMENT.INFORMATION MAY BE
 AVAILABLE AT WWW.BOAF.NET, HURRICANE MITIGATION.
  
 PER CONVERSATION WITH CONTRACTOR, 4" TAPE AT THE SEAMS
 WILL BE USED FOR THE SHINGLE PITCHED ROOF.PLEASE
 ADVISE THE OWNER THAT FOR SOME INSURANCE COMPANIES, 6"
 TAPE IS REQUIRED FOR AN INSURANCE CREDIT.A PERMIT
 WILL BE ISSUED SPECIFYING 4" AS THIS IS THE MINIMUM
 CODE REQUIREMENT, BUT CONTRACTOR IS REQUIRED TO INFORM
 THE HOMEOWNER.
  
 PER CONVERSATION WITH CONTRACTOR, ONE ADDITIONAL PLY
 SHEET WILL BE INSTALLED (TWO PLY SHEETS) TO COMPLY WITH
 THE SECONDARY WATER BARRIER REQUIREMENT FOR THE LOW
 SLOPE ROOF.TO SHOW CODE COMPLIANCE AND TO AVOID
 MISUNDERSTANDING/DELAYS IN INSPECTIONS IN THE FIELD,
 PLEASE SUMMARIZE EACH SYSTEM WITH A DETAILED
 DESCRIPTION (DESCRIPTION OF LAYERS, NOT FASTENING).WE
 DISCUSSED USE OF ONE PLY OF GLASPLY 4, AN ADDITIONAL
 PLY OF RUBEROID MOP SMOOTH, AND A CAP SHEET.THE
 LETTER AND NOA SPECIFIES TWO PLIES OF GLASPLY4.THIS
 IS NOT COMPLIANT AS THE SECONDARY WATER BARRIER.
  
 2.)TW MOISTURE WRAP SPEC SHEET WAS PROVIDED.THE
 MANUFACTURER DOES NOT ALLOW THIS INSTALLED ON ROOF
 SHEATHING; TAMKLO MOISTURE GUARD PLUS IS THE CORRECT
 PRODUCT FOR ROOF SHEATHING.SEE THE TAMKO WEBSITE.

 COMPLIES AS THE SECONDARY WATER BARRIER.HOWEVER, IF
 CONTRACTOR SPECIFIES THIS ON HIS LETTERHEAD, IT WILL BE
 REQUIRED.
