 ENGINEERING REPORT, FIRE SAFETY
 EVALUATION REPORT PREPARED FOR BH
 CONDOMINIUM SERVICES, LLC. THE FOLLOWING
 COMMENTS ARE PROVIDED.
  
 1. PLANS AND PERMITS REQUIRED FOR THE
 REMOVAL OF THE EXISTING TRANSFER GRILLS
 AND TO REPAIR THESE LOCATIONS TO THE ONE
 HOUR FIRE RATING. (CORRIDORS)
  
 2. THE REPLACEMENT OF DOORS AND EXIT
 HARDWARE IN THE STAIRWELLS SHOULD ALSO
 BE INCLUDED ON PLANS WITH AN APPROVED
 DOOR SCHEDULE ILLUSTRATING THE NEW 1 1/2
 HOUR RATED DOORS.
  
 3. STAIR IDENTIFICATION SIGNS WILL
 CERTAINLY HELP TO IMPROVE THE OVERALL
 FIRE AND LIFE SAFETY CONDITIONS AT THE
 BUILDING.
  
 4. THE PROPOSED NEW FIRE ALARM SYSTEM
 SHALL MEET ALL OF THE REQUIREMENTS OF
 NFPA 72, 2002 EDITION. PLANS AND PERMITS
 WILL BE REQUIRED PRIOR TO INSTALLATION.
 SINCE A NEW SYSTEM IS EXPECTED, THE
 SYSTEM SHALL BE MONITORED BY A LICENSED
 UL LISTED CENTRAL STATION APPROVED FOR
 CENTRAL STATION SERVICE.
  
  
 5. THIS OFFICE HAS REVIEWED THE
 INFORMATION REGARDING THE PARTIAL FIRE
 SPRINKLER PROTECTION.THIS OFFICE WOULD
 RECOMMEND THAT THE ENTIRE BUILDING BE
 FIRE SPRINKLER PROTECTED.AS YOU ARE
 AWARE, THE MOST SEVERE RISK OF FIRE IS
 LOCATED WITHIN THE RESIDENTIAL UNITS OF
 THE BUILDING. SINCE THE PLAN IS TO
 SPRINKLER ONLY THE CORRIDORS AND THE
 STAIRS, THE REQUIRED INFRASTRUCTURE WILL
 HAVE TO BE INSTALLED.WITH THE ADDITION
 OF FIRE SPRINKLER PIPING AND SPRINKLER
 HEADS THE ENTIRE BUILDING COULD BE
 PROTECTED WITH SPRINKLERS. FIRE
 SPRINKLER HEADS SELECTED SHOULD BE QUICK
 RESPONSE OR LISTED RESIDENTIAL TYPE.
 SEPERATE PLANS AND PERMITS REQUIRED FOR
 THE INSTALLATION OF ANY FIRE SPRINKLER
 SYSTEM.
  
 6. THE REPORT INDICATES THAT A NEW FIRE
 PUMP AND JOCKEY PUMP IS PLANNED. THIS
 OFFICE SUPPORTS THE INSTALLATION OF A
 NEW FIRE PUMP AND JOCKEY PUMP AS THE
 EXISTING FIRE PUMP HAS BEEN UTILIZED FOR
 MANY YEARS AND HAS OUTLIVED ITS
 USEFULNESS. THE NEW FIRE PUMP SHOULD BE
 AS LEAST A 750 GPM FIRE PUMP SINCE THERE
 ARE TWO REQUIRED STAIRWELLS FOR THE
 BUILDING. AGAIN, PLANS AND PERMITS ARE
 REQUIRED PRIOR TO INSTALLATION. ALSO
 PRIMARY AND EMERGENCY POWER SUPPLIES ARE
 TO BE DETERMINED FOR ADEQUACY.
  
 7. ALTHOUGH NOT NOTED IN THE REPORT, ANY
 MULTI-LEVEL APARTMENTS SHALL HAVE
 ELECTRIC POWERED SMOKE DETECTORS PRESENT
 ON EVERY LEVEL.
  
 8. ANY OTHER FIRE AND LIFE SAFETY
 SYSTEMS OR DEVICES THAT NEED TO BE
 REPAIRED SHOULD BE CORRECTED AT THIS
 TIME.
