 2020 EXISTING BUILDING CODE. 801.3 COMPLIANCE. ALL NEW
 CONSTRUCTION ELEMENTS, COMPONENTS, SYSTEMS, AND SPACES
 SHALL COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE FLORIDA
 BUILDING CODE, BUILDING.

 ACTION: DENIED
 1) THE LIFE SAFETY SHEET:
 1A) THE CODE ANALYSIS STATES THIS TENANT SPACE IS AN
 BUSINESS OCCUPANCY. THE PLAN DOES NOT DECLARE THE
 OCCUPANT LOAD IS TAKEN FROM TABLE 1004.5 BUT THE
 OCCUPANT LOAD FACTOR IS STATED AT 150, AS IN TABLE
 1004.5 AND THE OCCUPANT LOAD OF 20. IT SHOULD BE
 ROUNDED UP TO 21. 3,043/ 150= 20.28 OCCUPANTS. YOU
 ALWAYS ROUND UP TO THE NEXT WHOLE OCCUPANT. WHEN YOU
 ARE ESTABLISHING THE OCCUPANT LOAD BY GIVING THE
 OCCUPANT LOAD FACTOR OR BY STATING THE TABLE 1004.5 AS
 THE DESIGNER YOU ARE ESTABLISHING THE DESIGN OCCUPANT
 LOAD. IF YOU COUNT EVERY CHAIR IN THE TENANT SPACE
 THERE ARE MORE THAN 50 CHAIRS WHICH WOULD REQUIRE 2
 MEANS OF EGRESS. WHAT I BELIEVE AS THE DESIGNER OF
 RECORD PLEASE REVIEW SECTION 1004.2 FOR INCREASED
 OCCUPANT LOAD AND SEATING DIAGRAM, FLOOR PLAN, THE
 POSTING OF THE INCREASED OCCUPANT LOAD 49 OCCUPANTS
 WITH DIAGRAM / FLOOR PLAN. THIS WILL PROVIDE AN
 INCREASE OF OCCUPANTS AND STILL MEET THE REQUIREMENTS
 OF TABLE 1006.2.1 OF NO MORE THAN 49 OCCUPANTS AND A
 MAXIMUM COMMON PATH OF TRAVEL OF 100 FEET/ SPRINKLERED
 BUILDING.
  
 2A) FROM THE P1.1 SHEET THE PRIVATE BATHROOM LOOKS TO
 BE NEW SINCE THERE ARE NEW SANITARY LINES THAT WILL TIE
 INTO EXISTING LINES. POST TENSION SLAB/ NEW HOLES. THE
 PLAN IS SILENT AS IF THE LOCATION OF THE EXISTING TUB
 DRAIN IS GOING TO BE REUSED IN THE SAME LOCATION. IF
 NOT, THEN THE FLOOR SLAB WILL NEED TO BE X-RAYED TO
 FIND THE POST TENSION CHORD LOCATIONS. 107.2.1.2.
 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION IS REQUIRED.
  
 2B) THROUGH-PENETRATIONS FIRESTOP SYSTEMS (HORIZONTAL
 ASSEMBLIES). IF A NEW FLOOR PENETRATION IS MADE FOR THE
 FUTURE SHOWER DRAIN, THEN YOU NEED TO SHOW COMPLIANCE
 WITH THE 2020 FBC-B SECTION 714.5.1.2.
 THROUGH-PENETRATIONS FIRESTOP SYSTEMS (HORIZONTAL
 ASSEMBLIES). THROUGH PENETRATIONS SHALL BE PROTECTED BY
 A THROUGH PENETRATION FIRESTOP SYSTEM INSTALLED IN
 ACCORDANCE WITH ASTM E814 OR UL 1479. THE SYSTEM SHALL
 HAVE AN F RATING / T RATING OF NOT LESS THAN 1 HOUR BUT
 NOT LESS THAN THE REQUIRED RATING OF THE FLOOR
 PENETRATED.
  
 3) SHEET A1.1 & A3.2. NEW PRIVATE BATHROOM SHOWER AND
 WATER CLOSET WILL STILL REQUIRE BACKING FOR GRAB BARS,
 604.5 EXCEPTION 1 INSTALLED AT THE CORRECT HEIGHTS.
  
 4) A TRANSMITTAL LETTER LISTING THE ORIGINAL REVIEW
 COMMENT NUMBER, WITH A DESCRIPTION OF THE REVISION
 MADE, IDENTIFYING THE SHEET OR SPECIFICATION PAGE WHERE
 THE CHANGES CAN BE FOUND WILL HELP TO EXPEDITE YOUR
 PERMIT. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ANTICIPATED COOPERATION.
