 1) ACCORDING TO THE PALM BEACH COUNTY APPRAISER'S
 REPORT AND WEST PALM BEACH PERMIT RECORDS, THE AC
 SYSTEM IS NOT A CHANGE OUT BUT IS A NEW SYSTEM BEING
 INSTALLED IN A PREVIOUSLY UNCONDITIONED BUILDING.
 PLEASE PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING:
  
 A) ENERGY COMPLIANCE REPORT- SECTION R503.2 FBC EC.
  
 B) AC COOLING AND HEATING CALCULATIONS- SECTION
 R403.6.1 FBC EC.
  
 2) PROVIDE AN AC EQUIPMENT SCHEDULE ON THE PLAN THAT
 INCLUDES THE MAKE AND MODEL NUMBERS OF THE CONDENSER
 AND THE AIR HANDLER, COOLING AND HEATING CAPACITIES,
 TOTAL AIRFLOW CFMS, AND EFFICIENCY RATING- TABLE
 C403.2.3(1) FBC EC.
  
 3) THE PLAN SHOWS AN UNDERSIZED RETURN TRANSFER GRILL
 IN BEDROOM-1- SEE SECTION M1602.3 FBC RES.
  
 4) CLARIFY THE LOCATION OF THE AIR HANDLER AND NIOTE
 THE FOLLOWING COINCERNING AIR HANDLERS IN ATTIC SPACES:
  
 M1305.1.3 FBC RES APPLIANCES IN ATTICS.
  
 ATTICS CONTAINING APPLIANCES SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH AN
 OPENING AND A CLEAR AND UNOBSTRUCTED PASSAGEWAY LARGE
 ENOUGH TO ALLOW REMOVAL OF THE LARGEST APPLIANCE, BUT
 NOT LESS THAN 30 INCHES (762 MM) HIGH AND 22 INCHES
 (559 MM) WIDE AND NOT MORE THAN 20 FEET (6096 MM) LONG
 MEASURED ALONG THE CENTERLINE OF THE PASSAGEWAY FROM
 THE OPENING TO THE APPLIANCE. THE PASSAGEWAY SHALL HAVE
 CONTINUOUS SOLID FLOORING IN ACCORDANCE WITH CHAPTER 5
 NOT LESS THAN 24 INCHES (610 MM) WIDE. A LEVEL SERVICE
 SPACE NOT LESS THAN 30 INCHES (762 MM) DEEP AND 30
 INCHES (762 MM) WIDE SHALL BE PRESENT ALONG ALL SIDES
 OF THE APPLIANCE WHERE ACCESS IS REQUIRED. THE CLEAR
 ACCESS OPENING DIMENSIONS SHALL BE NOT LESS THAN OF 20
 INCHES BY 30 INCHES (508 MM BY 762 MM), AND LARGE
 ENOUGH TO ALLOW REMOVAL OF THE LARGEST APPLIANCE.
 EXCEPTIONS:
 1.THE PASSAGEWAY AND LEVEL SERVICE SPACE ARE NOT
 REQUIRED WHERE THE APPLIANCE CAN BE SERVICED AND
 REMOVED THROUGH THE REQUIRED OPENING.
  
 2.WHERE THE PASSAGEWAY IS UNOBSTRUCTED AND NOT LESS
 THAN 6 FEET (1829 MM) HIGH AND 22 INCHES (559 MM) WIDE
 FOR ITS ENTIRE LENGTH, THE PASSAGEWAY SHALL BE NOT MORE
 THAN 50 FEET (15 250 MM) LONG.
  
 R403.3.6 FBC EC AIR-HANDLING UNITS.
  
 AIR-HANDLING UNITS SHALL NOT BE INSTALLED IN THE ATTIC
 WHEN A HOME IS BROUGHT INTO CODE COMPLIANCE BY SECTION
 R402. AIR-HANDLING UNITS SHALL BE ALLOWED IN ATTICS FOR
 COMPLIANCE BY SECTION R405 ONLY IF THE FOLLOWING
 CONDITIONS ARE MET:
 1.THE SERVICE PANEL OF THE EQUIPMENT IS LOCATED WITHIN
 6 FEET (1829 MM) OF AN ATTIC ACCESS.
 2 A DEVICE IS INSTALLED TO ALERT THE OWNER OR SHUT DOWN
 THE UNIT WHEN THE CONDENSATION DRAIN IS NOT WORKING
 PROPERLY.
 3.THE ATTIC ACCESS OPENING IS OF SUFFICIENT SIZE TO
 REPLACE THE AIR HANDLER.
 4. A NOTICE IS POSTED ON THE ELECTRIC SERVICE PANEL
 INDICATING TO THE HOMEOWNER THAT THE AIR HANDLER IS
 LOCATED IN THE ATTIC. SAID NOTICE SHALL BE IN ALL
 CAPITALS, IN 16-POINT TYPE, WITH THE TITLE AND FIRST
 PARAGRAPH IN BOLD:
  
 NOTICE TO HOMEOWNER
 A PART OF YOUR AIR-CONDITIONING SYSTEM, THE AIR
 HANDLER, IS LOCATED IN THE ATTIC. FOR PROPER, EFFICIENT
 AND ECONOMIC OPERATION OF THE AIRCONDITIONING SYSTEM,
 YOU MUST ENSURE THAT REGULAR MAINTENANCE IS PERFORMED.
 YOUR AIR-CONDITIONING SYSTEM IS EQUIPPED WITH ONE OR
 BOTH OF THE FOLLOWING: (1) A DEVICE THAT WILL ALERT YOU
 WHEN THE CONDENSATION DRAIN IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY OR
 (2) A DEVICE THAT WILL SHUT DOWN THE SYSTEM WHEN THE
 CONDENSATION DRAIN IS NOT WORKING. TO LIMIT POTENTIAL
 DAMAGE TO YOUR HOME, AND TO AVOID DISRUPTION OF
 SERVICE, IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU ENSURE PROPER
 WORKING ORDER OF THESE DEVICES BEFORE EACH SEASON OF
 PEAK OPERATION.
  
 WHEN RESUBMITTING, IT IS HELPFUL TO PROVIDE A RESPONSE
 LETTER ADDRESSING EACH ITEM ALONG WITH THE CITY
 RE-SUBMITTAL FORM. ADDITIONALLY, PLEASE INSERT
 CORRECTED PLAN SHEETS INTO THE SETS, REMOVE THE
 PREVIOUSLY REVIEWED SHEETS AND MARK VOID ON THEM, AND
 KEEP THEM WITH THE SUBMITTALS.
