 SHALL BE STRUCTURALLY ENGINEERED TO MEET THE WIND LOAD
 REQUIREMENTS OF THE APPLICABLE BUILDING CODE. ALL OF
 THESE ATTACHMENT SYSTEMS SHALL BE CONNECTED DIRECTLY TO
 THE UNDERLYING ROOF STRUCTURE OR ROOF SUPPORT
 STRUCTURE.
  
 FBC 1603.1.4 WIND DESIGN DATA.
 THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION RELATED TO WIND LOADS SHALL
 BE SHOWN, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER WIND LOADS GOVERN THE
 DESIGN OF THE LATERAL FORCE-RESISTING SYSTEM OF THE
 STRUCTURE:
 1. ULTIMATE DESIGN WIND SPEED, VULT, (3-SECOND GUST),
 MILES PER HOUR (KM/HR) AND NOMINAL DESIGN WIND SPEED,
 VASD, AS DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION

 1. SHEET A 1 - THE CORRIDOR WALLS APPEAR TO BE 1 HOUR
 FIRE RATED. THE NEW WALL, W2, DOES NOT HAVE A RATING.
 THE NEW WALL SHALL MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE
 EXISTING CORRIDOR WALLS; 1 HOUR.
  
 2. SHEET A 1 - DOOR 02 IS LOCATED WITHIN W2 IS REQUIRED
 TO BE A FIRE RATED WALL. THE DOOR AND DOOR ASSEMBLY
 SHALL BE FIRE RATED TO MATCH THE WALL.
  
 3. SHEET A 1 - THERE IS A WALL TYPE IN THE CORNER OF
 THE EXHAUST ROOM INDICATED AS W1A, THERE IS NO DESIGN
 DETAIL CALL-OUT FOR THAT WALL TYPE.
  
 4. SHEET A 1 - THE BACK WALL OF THE EXHAUST ROOM
 ADDITION IS INDICATED AS W3, HOWEVERM THE EXISTING WALL
 TYPE IS NOT INDICATED. BASED ON THE EXISTING WALL TYPE
 DOES THE ADDITIONAL WAAL TYPE REQUIRE IT TO BE SEALED
 AS ALL THE OTHE OTHER WALL TYPES WITHIN THAT ROOM?
  
 5. PROVIDE A NOTE INDICATING THAT FIRE SPRINKLER AND
 FIRE ALARM WORK SHALL BE DONE UNDER SEPARATE SHOP

 A.8.2.3.1: EXHAUST SYSTEMS SHOULD NOT TERMINATE UNDER
 STRUCTURES (INCLUDING LOADING PLATFORMS) OR WHERE
 EXHAUST GAS ENTRAINMENT INTO VENTILATION INTAKES MIGHT
 OCCUR.
  
 A.11.4.2.3: MECHANICAL VENTILATION SYSTEMS CAN CONSIST
 OF THE NORMAL VENTILATION SYSTEM FOR THE ROOM OR
 ENCLOSURE OR A DEDICATED PURGE SYSTEM. EXHAUST AIR
 SHOULD DISCHARGE OUTSIDE THE STRUCTURE, AWAY FROM

 GUIDELINES ONEXHAUST AIR STACK HEIGHT AND DISTANCE FROM
 OTHER STRUCTURES, AS WELL AS AIR INTAKES NEEDED TO
 PROVIDE ADEQUATE DILUTION AND TO AVOID DETRIMENTAL
 EFFECTS OF DOWNDRAFTS.
  
 A) REFER TO SECTIONS 501.3 AND 501.3.1(4) FBC-14
 MECHANICAL WHICH REQUIRE THE EXHAUST SYSTEMS NOT TO
 TERMINATE WHERE THEY COULD CAUSE A NUISANCE, OR BE
 READILY DRAWN INTO A VENTILATING SYSTEM, AND MUST BE 3'
 FROM EXTERIOR WALLS AND ROOFS.
  
 2) THE SCREENING FOR THE GENERATOR ROOM EXHAUST DUCT
 SHALL BE CORROSION RESISTANT WITH OPENINGS NOT LESS
 THAN 1/4" AND NOT LARGER THAN 1/2". THE 1" WELDED
 STAINLESS MEXH SPECIFIED ON THE PLANS DOES NOT MEET THE
 CODE.
  
 3) PLEASE PROVIDE WIND LOAD ENGINEERING FOR
 INSTALLATION OF THE GEF-1 AND EXHAUST DUCTWORK- SECTION

 37. PLEASE REVISE THE PLANS ACCORDINGLY AND INCLUDE A
 MINIMUM 45 MINUTE FIRE-RATED DOOR WITH SELF CLOSING
 HARDWARE- SECTION 716 FBC-14 BUILDING. THIS NEW ROOM IS
 AN EXHAUST PLENUM FOR THE GENERATORS AND DOES NOT
 APPEAR TO BE SEPARATED BY FIRE-RATED CONSTRUCTION.
 2) PROVIDE UL TESTED AND APPROVED FIRE-STOPPING
 ASSEMBLIES FOR THE 56"X26" ROOM EXHAUST DUCT AND THE
 ENGINE EXHAUST PIPE THIMBLES PENETRATING FIRE-RATED
 WALLS. CLARIFY IF THE DUCT WILL HAVE A GRILL COVER AND
 PROVIDE A DETAIL.
 3) INDICATE THE DIAMETERS OF THE EXHAUST THIMBLES-
 MINIMUM 12" IS REQUIRED PER SECTION 8.3.3 (1) NFPA 37.
 4) PROVIDE DETAILS FOR BOTH THE ROOM EXHAUST AND ENGINE
 EXHAUST DUCTS: TYPE AND GAUGE OF STEEL, HANGER TYPES
 AND SIZES, SPAN OF HANGER SUPPORTS, REINFORCEMENT AND
 SEALING METHODS.
 5) PROVIDE AN ELEVATION VIEW OF THE EXHAUST OUTLETS
 INDICATING REQUIRED CLEARANCE DISTANCE MEASUREMENTS AS
 OUTLINED IN SECTION 501.3.1 FBC-214 MECHANICAL.
 6) PROVIDE APPROVED TERMINATION CAPS FOR THE ENGINE
 EXHAUST DUCTS- REFER TO SECTION 8.2.3 NFPA 37.
