 FBC CH.1 AS AMENDED BY THE CITY OF WEST PALM BEACH
  
 PLEASE ADDRESS THE FOLLOWING COMMENTS AND RESUBMIT:
  
 1. ACCORDING TO THE SECTION VIEW ON PLANS, THE EXHAUST
 FAN APPEARS TO BE DIRECTLY ADJACENT TO THE ROOF EDGE.
 GUARDS SHALL BE PROVIDED WHERE FANS OR OTHER COMPONENTS
 THAT REQUIRE SERVICE ARE LOCATED WITHIN 10 FEET OF A
 ROOF EDGE OR OPEN SIDE OF A WALKING SURFACE AND SUCH
 EDGE OR OPEN SIDE IS LOCATED MORE THAN 30 INCHES (762
 MM) ABOVE THE FLOOR, ROOF OR GRADE BELOW. THE GUARD
 SHALL EXTEND NOT LESS THAN 30 INCHES BEYOND EACH END OF
 SUCH FAN OR COMPONENT AND THE TOP OF THE GUARD SHALL BE
 LOCATED NOT LESS THAN 42 INCHES ABOVE THE ELEVATED
 SURFACE ADJACENT TO THE GUARD. THE GUARD SHALL BE
 CONSTRUCTED SO AS TO PREVENT THE PASSAGE OF A
 21-INCH-DIAMETER SPHERE AND SHALL COMPLY WITH THE
 LOADING REQUIREMENTS FOR GUARDS SPECIFIED IN THE
 FLORIDA BUILDING CODE, BUILDING IN ACCORDANCE WITH FBCM
 304.10.
  
 2. GREASE DUCT AND FIRE WRAP ARE SHOWN PENETRATING A
 FLOOR/CEILIGN ASSEMBLY AS IT ENTERS THE 2ND FLOOR.
 PROVIDE A DETAIL FOR A LISTED THROUGH-PENETRATION
 FIRESTOP SYSTEM SHOWING HOW THE PENETRATION OF THIS
 FLOOR/CEILING ASSEMBLY IS TO BE PROTECTED IN ACCORDANCE
 WITH FBCM 506.3.10. ALSO, FIRE WRAP MANUFACTURERS
 INSTALLATION ISTRUCTIONS SHALL BE ON THE JOBSITE AT
 TIME OF INSPECTION IN ACCORDANCE WITH FBCM 304.1
  
 3. WHILE THE PLANS PROVIDE WIND LOAD DATA FOR
 ATTACHMENT OF THE EXHAUST FAN AND CURB TO BUILDING
 STRUCTURE, NO INFORMATION WAS PROVIDED REGARDING THE
 EXHAUST FAN REGARDING WIND RESISTANCE. EQUIPMENT AND
 APPLIANCES WHICH ARE EXPOSED TO WIND SHALL BE DESIGNED
 TO RESIST ANTICIPATED WIND PRESURES IN ACCORDANCE WITH
 FBCM 301.13. PROVIDE MANUFACTURER'S DATA SHOWING THIS
 FAN IS DESIGNED FOR WIND RESISTANCE IN ACCORDANCE WITH
 THIS SECTION.
  
 4. PLANS SHOW A 20X20 LOUVER TO BE INSTALLED FOR THE
 MAKEUP AIR FAN. LOUVERS ARE DEFINED AS PANEL WALLS PER
 FAC RULE 9B-72 AND THEREFORE ARE SUBJECT TO THE FLORIDA
 PRODUCT APPROVAL SYSTEM. PROVIDE PRODUCT APPROVAL FOR
 THE LOUVER TO BE INSTALLED PER FBCB SECTION 1609. THE
 PRODUCT APPROVAL SHALL BE REVIEWED AND APPROVED IN
 WRITING BY THE DESIGNER OF RECORD IN ACCORDANCE WITH
 FBCB 106.3.3.
  
 5. PROVIDE SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION SHOWING THE
 EXISTING WOOD FLOOR TRUSSES CAN SUPPORT THE PROPOSED
 ADDITIONAL GRAVITY LOADS ASSOCIATED WITH THE HOOD AND
 DUCT INSTALLATIONS BEING PROPOSED IN ACCORDANCE WITH
 THE FLORIDA BUILDING CODE, EXISTING BUILDING, SECTION
 607.4.1.
  
 6. PROVIDE DETAIL SHOWING HOW VERTICAL GRESAE DUCT IS
 TO BE SUPPORTED. GREASE DUCT BRACING AND SUPPORTS SHALL
 BE OF NONCOMBUSTIBLE MATERIAL SECURELY ATTACHED TO THE
 STRUCTURE AND DESIGNED TO CARRY GRAVITY LOADS WITHIN
 THE STRESS LIMITATIONS OF THE FLORIDA BUILDING CODE,
 BUILDING. BOLTS, SCREWS, RIVETS AND OTHER MECHANICAL
 FASTENERS SHALL NOT PENETRATE DUCT WALLS IN ACCORDANCE
 WITH FBCM 506.3.3.
  
 NOTE: SEPARATE PERMIT REQUIRED FOR ELECTRICAL SERVICE
 TO NEW KITCHEN HOOD AND RELATED FANS.
  
 NOTE: A REVIEW BY THE CITY'S PLANNING AND ZONING
 DEPARTMENT IS REQUIRED FOR PEOPOSED NEW ROOFTOP
 EQUIPMENT. PLNS WILL BE ROUTED TO ZONING FOR REVIEW.
