 THIS MORNINGS VISIT TO THE JOBSITE WITH HAROLD PISKURA
 WE WERE ABLE TO VERIFY THE GLASS THICKNESS USED IN EACH
 OF THE INSTALLATION SINGLE HUNG WINDOWS AS WELL AS THE
 SLIDING GLASS DOORS. THE CONCERNS ARE AS FOLLOWS IN
 THIS EXAMPLE:
  
 1A) WHERE ON THE SLIDING GLASS DOORS WE ARE ABLE TO
 VERIFY THE GLASS THICKNESS OF 9/16" FOR THE SLIDING
 GLASS DOORS WE ARE NOT ABLE TO VERIFY AS TO WHICH
 LAMINATE
 WAS INSTALLED IN EACH OF THE UNITS. THE NOA 04-0908.02
 TECHNICAL SHEET 1 OF 4 CLEARLY INDICATES ALL GLASS
 TYPES ARE 9/16" THICK ONLY GLASS TYPES A & B CAN MAKE
 THE WIND
 LOADS ABOVE +/- 70. THE FRAMES OF THIS UNIT INDICATE
 THEY HAVE THE HEAVY REINFORCEMENT FOUND INNOA
 01-1108.03/ FTL# 1743.
  
 1B)THE SECOND CONCERN IS THE FRAMES LISTED UNDER
 MIAMI WALL SYSTEMS, INC SGDSMALL MISSLE LAM GLASSNOA
 01-1108.03TECHNICAL SHEETS 2-5 INDICATE THE SLIDING
 GLASS DOOR UNITS WITH NO REINFORCEMENT, LIGHT, MEDIUM
 AND HEAVY REINFORCEMENT AND THE ASSOCIATED PRESSURES.
 AGAIN WE HAVE NO WAY OF VISUALLY INSPECTING THE
 INSTALLED FRAMES AND
 VERIFYING WHAT TYPE OF REINFORCEMENT IS IN THE FRAME IF
 ANY, THUS HAVING LOW PRESSURES. NO APPROVAL LABELS ON
 DOORS OR WINDOWS.

 GLASS DOORS
 SHALL BE TESTED BY AN APPROVED INDEPENDENT TESTING
 LABORATORY, AND
 SHALL BE LABELED WITH AN APPROVED LABEL IDENTIFYING
 THE MANUFACTURER,
 PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS AND APPROVED PRODUCT
 CERTIFICATION AGENCY,
 TESTING LABORATORY, EVALUATION ENTITY OR MIAMI-DADE
 NOTICE OF
 ACCEPTANCE TO INDICATE COMPLIANCE WITH THE
 REQUIREMENTS OF ONE OF THE
 FOLLOWING SPECIFICATIONS:
  
 ANSI/AAMA/NWWDA 101/I.S.2-97 OR TAS 202

 2) WITH VISITING THE JOBSITE TO VERIFY THE TYPE OF
 GLASS AND THICKNESS TWO MORE CONCERNS WERE NOTICED. 2A)
 ON THE FOURTH FLOOR WE NOTICED A MULLION BETWEEN TWO
 SEPERATE SLIDING GLASS DOORS. THERE IS NO PRODUCT
 APPROVALS SUBMITTED FOR STRUCTURAL MULLIONS. PLEASE
 PROVIDE PRODUCT APPROVALS FOR THE STRUCTURAL MULLION.
  
 2B) WITH VISITING THE JOBSITE IN EACH UNITS VISITED,
 THE SLIDING GLASS DOOR TRACK WAS APPROXIMATELY 41/2"
 ABOVE THE CONCRETEFLOOR. IN RETURNING TO THE BUILDING
 DEPARTMENT
 I REVIEWED THE CITY SEET OF REVIEWED PLANS FOR
 THIS TYPE OF DETAIL, SHEET A440 DETAIL # 6 PROVIDED THE
 DETAIL THAT WS REVIEWED TO THE FAIR HOUSING STANDARDS.
 I ALSO DISCUSSED THIS ISSUE WITH BO NEIL MELICK WHICH
 HE ALSO INDICATED ALL UNITS ARE TO COMPLY WITH THE FAIR
 HOUSING STANDARDS FOR SLIDING GLASS DOORS USED AS A
 SECONDARY ENTRANCE.
 A COPY OF THIS STANDARDIS ATTACHED.
  
 3) THE SAME ISSUE AS (1A)IS THE TYPE OF LAMINATION
 USED FOR THE SINGLE HUNG WINDOWS, THERE IS NO WAY OF
 KNOWING WHAT TYPE OF LAMINATION WAS USED.
 THE ONE WAY THAT WE CAN IDENTIFY WHAT TYPE OF UNITS
 WERE SHIPPED IS BY PROVIDING A COPY OF THE BILL OF
 LADING, THIS MAY IDENTIFY THE AMOUNT OF WINDOWS AND
 DOORS
 THAT WERE SHIPPED TO THE JOB SITE?
  
 4) NOTE: JOBSITE INSPECTION OF THE LOBBY ENTRY DOORS,
 YES THE PRODUCT APPROVAL FOR SIGNATURE DOORS DOES
 INCLUDE LARGE MISSLE TESTING NOA 04-0211.09
 DOORS DO NOT HAVE ANY APPROVAL LABELS.
