 I HAVE REVIEWED THE ABOVE REFERENCED PETITION, AND
 PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING COMMENTS:
  
 1. PROVIDE A TREE DISPOSITION CHART OF THE TREES WITHIN
 THE AFFECTED AREA AND INDICATE IF THEY WILL BE
 PRESERVED IN PLACE, RELOCATED OR REMOVED. LIST THE
 BOTANICAL NAME AND PROVIDE THE CANOPY DIAMETER.
 CALCULATE THE REQUIRED MITIGATION IN SQUARE FOOTAGE.
 THE CHART PROVIDED NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED TO MEET CODE
 REQUIREMENTS FOR CANOPY MITIGATION DUE.
 ? SATISFIED. SHOW CALCULATIONS FOR CANOPY SQUARE
 FOOTAGE BASED ON DIAMETER, 1:1 SAME CATEGORY IF UNDER
 20 FEET, ACTUAL AREA 20 FEET OR MORE WITHIN THE
 DISPOSITION CHART. COCONUT CATEGORY 3 IS100 SQ FT EACH
 MITIGATION DUE FOR # 1, 17 AND 18, #6 FICUS 855 SQ FT

 DESIGN OPTIONS CHART SECTION 94-446 (G) AND PROVIDE THE
 REQUIRED 50 POINTS.
  
 3. SATISFIED. PROVIDE A PLAN SHOWING THE PARKING
 LANDSCAPE AREAS COUNTED TOWARD COMPLIANCE WITH SECTION
 94-443(C)(3) AND (4) AND PROVIDE CALCULATIONS.
  
 4. PARTIALLY SATISFIED. PROVIDE CALCULATIONS FOR
 REQUIRED BUFFER TREES AT ONE FOR EVERY 30 FEET OR
 PORTION THEREOF FOR ALL BUFFER LENGTHS, AND SHOW THE
 NUMBER PROVIDED.
 PROVIDE THE CALCULATIONS FOR A TREE EVERY 30 FEET FOR
 EACH BUFFER LENGTH. BMUD CODE REQUIRES THE TREES IN THE
 SETBACKS ADJACENT TO THE ROAD.
 190 FOOT BUFFER LENGTH REQUIRES 7 TREES. CANNOT DOUBLE
 COUNT TREES AT CORNERS. ADJUST COUNTS ON CHART, AND ADD
 1 TREE OR PALM TO THE NORTH BUFFER.
  
 5. SATISFIED. SHOW THE LOCATIONS OF REQUIRED 10 FOOT
 LANDSCAPE BUFFERS ON THE BROADWAY, 28TH AND 27TH STREET
 SIDES OF THE PROJECT PER SECTION 94-443(D). SHOW THE
 BUFFER WIDTH PROVIDED ON THE WEST PROPERTY LINE.
  
 6. SATISFIED. PROVIDE THE REQUIRED BUFFER TREES WITHIN
 THE PROPERTY LINE OF THE PROJECT. TREES MAY BE PLACED
 ANYWHERE WITHIN THE AREA BETWEEN THE PROPERTY LINE AND
 BUILDING. SHRUBS MAY BE PLACED BETWEEN THE CURB AND
 SIDEWALK AS PART OF ROADWAY BEAUTIFICATION TO SEPARATE
 THE PUBLIC OPEN SPACE AREAS FROM TRAFFIC.
 STAFF REQUESTS THE DESIGN BE CHANGED ALONG BROADWAY TO
 PLACE THE TREES BEHIND THE SIDEWALK AND ADD SHRUB
 PLANTING STRIP BETWEEN THE SIDEWALK AND CURB. THIS WILL
 CONFORM TO FDOT ACCEPTABLE STANDARDS.
  
 7. SATISFIED. PROVIDE HEDGES TO SCREEN ALL PARKING
 AREAS FROM ADJACENT PROPERTIES AND STREETS.
 THE 27TH AND 28TH STREET ENDS OF THE PARKING LOT
 REQUIRE A 36 INCH HEDGE.
  
 8. SATISFIED. PROVIDE THE REQUIRED TREE OR PALM
 EQUIVALENT IN THE CENTER LANDSCAPE ISLAND IN THE ROW OF
 PARKING ALONG THE BUILDING. THE ISLAND CAN BE DESIGNED
 TO PLACE THE SIDEWALK AT ONE SIDE OF THE ISLAND RATHER
 THAN SPLITTING IT TO ACCOMMODATE A TREE.
  
 9. PARTIALLY SATISFIED. MULTIFAMILY REQUIREMENTS OF
 SECTION 94-443(D) SHALL APPLY FOR THE ADDITIONAL TREES
 REQUIRED AT ONE PER UNIT ADDED TO THE OVERALL SHADE
 TREE AND FLOWERING TREE REQUIREMENT. SHOW TOTAL
 REQUIRED AND PROVIDED.
 BROADWAY MIXED USE DISTRICT SECTION 94-220(G) SPECIFIES
 ALL SECTIONS OF THE LANDSCAPE CODE ARTICLE XIV SHALL
 APPLY UNLESS OTHERWISE PROVIDED.
 REQUIRED TREES ARE 15 PLUS 5 PLUS 52. TOTAL REQUIRED IS
 72. PROVIDED IS 20 SHADE TREES, 8 ROYAL PALMS, AND 55
 PALMS AT 3:1 (18) FOR A TOTAL OF 46.
  
  
 10. SATISFIED. SHOW LINEAR FOOTAGE OF LANDSCAPED AREA
 ADJACENT TO THE BUILDING MEETS THE REQUIREMENT OF 40
 PERCENT PER SECTION 94-443(D)(2) B.
 PROVIDE THE TOTAL LINEAR FOOTAGE OF THE BUILDING
 PERIMETER AND PROVIDE THE LINEAR FOOTAGE OF LANDSCAPED
 AREAS.
  
 11. SATISFIED. RECONSIDER FOXTAIL PALM SPECIES
 SELECTION, AS THEIR HIGH WATER AND FERTILIZER DEMANDS
 IMPOSE A MAINTENANCE BURDEN OVER THE LONG TERM OF THE
 PROJECT.
  
 12. SATISFIED. SHOW COMPLIANCE WITH SECTION 94-445 L.
 PLANT SPECIES. A MINIMUM OF 60 PERCENT OF PLANT
 MATERIAL ADDED SHALL BE FLORIDA NATIVE OR DROUGHT
 TOLERANT SPECIES SELECTED FROM THE CITY LIST OR THE
 LIST OF SPECIES IN THE MOST RECENT EDITION OF SOUTH
 FLORIDA WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT WATERWISE SOUTH
 FLORIDA LANDSCAPES.
 PROVIDE THE TOTAL PERCENTAGE BASED ON FINAL PLANT LIST.
  
 13. SATISFIED. THE LOCATIONS OF WATER AND SEWER LINES
 ON THE LANDSCAPE PLAN SHOW MANY CONFLICTS WITH TREES
 AND LANDSCAPING. RELOCATE UTILITY LOCATIONS OR EXPAND
 LANDSCAPE AREAS TO ACCOMMODATE REQUIRED LANDSCAPING.
 SHOW LOCATIONS OF FPL TRANSFORMERS ON THE LANDSCAPE
 PLAN AND RESOLVE CONFLICTS WITH LANDSCAPING.
 THERE ARE MULTIPLE CONFLICTS BETWEEN TREES AND WATER
 AND SEWER LINES IN THE LANDSCAPE ISLANDS ALONG THE REAR
 OF THE BUILDING. UTILITY LOCATIONS NEED TO BE ADJUSTED.
  
 14. PARTIALLY SATISFIED. PROVIDE A DETAIL AND LOCATIONS
 OF ROOT BARRIERS TO SEPARATE LANDSCAPING FROM UTILITY
 LINES.
 THE LOCATIONS OF THE UTILITIES AND ROOT BARRIERS REMOVE
 MOST OF THE ROOT AREA FOR THE TREES IN THE LANDSCAPE
 ISLANDS ALONG THE REAR OF THE BUILDING. UTILITY
 LOCATIONS NEED TO BE ADJUSTED.
 PROVIDE ROOT BARRIERS IN LANDSCAPE ISLANDS AND A
 RELEASE WOULD NEED TO BE PROVIDED FOR THE TREES PLACED
 IN THE PROPOSED UTILITY EASEMENT.
  
 15. SATISFIED. PROVIDE SCREENING FOR ALL GROUND MOUNTED
 VALVES AND EQUIPMENT.
 PLANT SPECIES NEEDS TO GROW TALL ENOUGH TO SCREEN
 EQUIPMENT.
  
 16. SATISFIED. PROVIDE THE REQUIRED HEDGE FOR THREE
 SIDES OF THE DUMPSTER ENCLOSURE AS REQUIRED.
  
 17. SATISFIED. SHOW THE LOCATIONS OF ALL SITE LIGHTING
 ON THE LANDSCAPE PLAN AND RESOLVE ANY CONFLICTS WITH
 TREES.
 ADDITIONAL COMMENTS 4/22/19:
 18. SATISFIED. PROVIDE THE FLOWERING TREES REQUIRED
 BASED ON THE OPEN SPACE AT ONE PER EVERY 6000 SQ FT OR
 PORTION THEREOF.
 CONDITIONS OF APPROVAL
 1. PRIOR TO THE REMOVAL OR RELOCATION OF ANY TREES ON
 THE PROPERTY, A TREE ALTERATION PERMIT SHALL BE
 SUBMITTED, REVIEWED AND APPROVED BY THE DEVELOPMENT
 SERVICES DEPARTMENT, PLANNING DIVISION.
