2015-06-08 13:52:17THE FOLLOWING COMMENTS WERE SUBMITTED BY PETER LEDUC,
 FIRE MARSHAL, BUREAU OF FIRE PREVENTION, WEST PALM
 BEACH FIRE RESCUE.
  
 THIS REVIEW CAN ONLY BE CONSIDERED PRELIMINARY AS THE
 DRAWINGS THAT WERE REVIEWED WERE NOT COMPLETE.
 ADDITIONAL COMMENTS CAN BE EXPECTED WHEN FULL DRAWINGS
 ARE SUBMITTED FOR PERMIT.
 THE FIRE PREVENTION BUREAU HAS NO OBJECTIONS TO THE
 PROPOSED PROJECT.
  
 1. CONSTRUCTION, DEMOLITION, AND RENOVATION TO COMPLY
 WITH NFPA 241. EXTRA ATTENTION SHALL BE GIVEN TO THE
 PERMITTING AND LOCATION OF CONSTRUCTION TRAILERS. A
 PERMIT IS REQUIRED FOR ANY CONSTRUCTION TRAILER RELATED
 TO THIS PROJECT. SEPARATION DISTANCES FROM MAIN
 STRUCTURES AS WELL AS OTHER TRAILERS SHALL BE CLOSELY
 MONITORED FOR THE REQUIREMENTS OF FIRE SPRINKLER
 PROTECTION.
  
 2. SITE ACCESS AND EXIT POINTS ARE TO BE CLEARLY
 IDENTIFIED AND MAINTAINED FOR EMERGENCY VEHICLES DURING
 ALL CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES.
  
 3. THE BUILDING ADDRESS SHALL BE CLEARLY VISIBLE FROM
 ALL ACCESS ROADWAYS, INCLUDING DURING CONSTRUCTION.
 ADDRESS NUMBERS SHALL CONTRAST WITH THEIR BACKGROUND
 AND SHALL NOT BE LESS THAN SIX (6) INCHES IN HEIGHT
 WITH A ONE (1) INCH STROKE FOR ALL BUILDINGS.
  
 4. DURING CONSTRUCTION, TRASH AND DEBRIS IS TO BE
 REMOVED FROM THE SITE DAILY OR MORE OFTEN TO REDUCE THE
 ACCUMULATION OF POTENTIAL LIFE AND FIRE SAFETY HAZARDS.
  
 5. ALL APARTMENT BUILDINGS SHALL COMPLY WITH THE
 FLORIDA FIRE PREVENTION CODE, 2012, 5TH EDITION,
 THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE BUILDING SHALL COMPLY WITH THE
 NFPA 1, FIRE CODE, 2012 EDITION; FLORIDA FIRE
 PREVENTION CODE, 2012 EDITION, INCLUDING MORE
 SPECIFICALLY, CHAPTER 30 NEW APARTMENT BUILDINGS.
  
 6. ALL PARKING STRUCTURES SHALL COMPLY WITH NFPA 88A,
 PARKING STRUCTURES AND NFPA 101, THE LIFE SAFETY CODE,
 INCLUDING MORE SPECIFICALLY, CHAPTER 42 STORAGE
 OCCUPANCIES (PARKING STRUCTURES)
  
 7. THE SEPARATION AND OPENING PROTECTION BETWEEN THE
 PARKING GARAGE AND APARTMENTS SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE
 AND COMPLIANCE WITH THE SPECIFIC AND MOST STRINGENT
 PROVISION REQUIREMENT OF EITHER CHAPTER.
  
 8. SMOKE ALARMS ARE REQUIRED IN EVERY SLEEPING ROOM AND
 OUTSIDE OF THE SLEEPING ROOMS AND IN ALL LEVELS OF THE
 DWELLING UNITS. THESE DETECTORS SHALL BE HARD WIRED AND
 SHALL BE INTERCONNECTED TO ONE ANOTHER.
  
 9. INTERIOR FINISH CLASSIFICATIONS FOR ALL WALLS AND
 CEILINGS SHALL BE CLEARLY INDICATED ON THE SUBMITTED
 BUILDING PERMIT PLAN.
  
 10. A NFPA 13 COMPLAINT FIRE SPRINKLER SYSTEM AND NFPA
 14 COMPLIANT WET STANDPIPE SYSTEM ARE REQUIRED FOR THIS
 STRUCTURE. A SPRINKLER CONTROL VALVE AND A WATERFLOW
 DEVICE SHALL BE PROVIDED FOR EACH FLOOR. TEMPORARY
 STANDPIPES ARE REQUIRED WHEN THE BUILDING REACHES THREE
 LEVELS OR THIRTY FEET WHILE BEING CONSTRUCTED. SEPARATE
 SHOP DRAWINGS, ARE REQUIRED TO BE SUBMITTED, REVIEWED
 AND APPROVED BY THE FIRE PREVENTION BUREAU PRIOR TO ANY
 INSTALLATION.
 IF A FIRE PUMP IS PROPOSED, WHAT IS(ARE) THE PRIMARY
 AND SECONDARY POWER SOURCES?
  
 11. A MONITORED NFPA 72 FIRE ALARM SYSTEM IS REQUIRED
 FOR THIS STRUCTURE. SEPARATE SHOP DRAWINGS, ARE
 REQUIRED TO BE SUBMITTED, REVIEWED AND APPROVED BY THE
 FIRE PREVENTION BUREAU PRIOR TO ANY INSTALLATION.
 CONSIDER A MAIN FIRE ALARM PANEL IN THE FIRE COMMAND
 ROOM AND A SEPARATE ANNUCIATOR PANEL IN EACH OF THE
 LOBBY'S.
  
 12. ALL VERTICAL AND HORIZONTAL FIRE SEPARATIONS FOR
 THIS BUILDING SHALL BE CLEARLY IDENTIFIED AND INDICATED
 ON THE PLANS.
  
 13. ALL FIRE RATED OPENING PROTECTIONS (FIRE DOORS AND
 HARDWARE) SHALL BE CLEARLY IDENTIFIED AND INDICATED IN
 THE DOOR SCHEDULE. ALL DOORS THAT OPEN ONTO EXIT ACCESS
 CORRIDORS SHALL BE FIRE RATED AND BE EQUIPPED WITH
 SELF-CLOSING DEVICES THAT CAUSE THE DOOR TO POSITIVELY
 LATCH WHEN CLOSED. THIS REQUIREMENT SHALL BE CLEARLY
 INDICATED AND ILLUSTRATED ON THE DOOR SCHEDULE.
  
 14. PRESCRIPTIVE STRENGTH REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL
 HANDRAILS AND GUARDRAILS FOR THE BUILDING SHALL BE
 PROVIDED AND CLEARLY INDICATED ON THE PLANS.
  
 15. ALL EXIT DISCHARGE LOCATIONS SHALL BE CLEARLY
 ILLUSTRATED ON THE PLAN.
  
 16. ALL ILLUMINATED EXIT SIGNS AND EMERGENCY LIGHTING
 EQUIPMENT SHALL BE ILLUSTRATED ON THE PLAN.
 IF AN EMERGENCY POWER GENERATOR IS PROPOSED, WHAT IS
 (ARE) THE PRIMARY AND SECONDARY POWER SOURCES?
  
 17. THE EMERGENCY COMMAND CENTER SHALL COMPLY WITH NFPA
 101, 11.8.6. A FIRE ALARM PANEL ALONE DOES NOT MEET ALL
 THE LISTED REQUIREMENTS. CLOSE COORDINATION WITH THE
 BUREAU IS STRONGLY ENCOURAGED.
  
 18. COMPLETE LIFE SAFETY PLANS FOR EACH OCCUPANCY SHALL
 BE PROVIDED THAT ILLUSTRATE OCCUPANT LOADS, TRAVEL
 DISTANCES, COMMON PATHS OF TRAVEL, DEAD-END CORRIDORS,
 EXIT SIGNS, EMERGENCY LIGHTING, EXITS LEADING TO A
 PUBLIC WAY, FIRE EXTINGUISHER LOCATIONS, AND ALL FIRE
 SAFETY FEATURES AND EQUIPMENT.
  
 19. ALL PORTABLE FIRE EXTINGUISHERS LOCATIONS SHALL BE
 CLEARLY IDENTIFIED AND INDICATED ON THE PLAN.
  
 20. STAIR DETAIL SHALL BE PROVIDED INCLUDING MINIMUM
 RISE, RUN, AND TREAD DEPTH. TACTILE SIGNAGE SHALL BE
 INSTALLED AT ALL EXIT DOORS.
  
 21. KNOX-BOX KEY SYSTEM SHALL BE REQUIRED FOR THIS
 BUILDING.
  
 22. ALL ELEVATORS SHALL BE EQUIPPED WITH A REGION 7
 KEYWAY SYSTEM.
  
 ANY BUILDING THAT IS MORE THAN THREE STORIES HIGH OR IN
 WHICH THE VERTICAL DISTANCE BETWEEN THE BOTTOM TERMINAL
 LANDING AND THE TOP TERMINAL LANDING EXCEEDS 25 FEET
 MUST BE CONSTRUCTED TO CONTAIN AT LEAST ONE PASSENGER
 ELEVATOR THAT IS OPERATIONAL AND WILL ACCOMMODATE AN
 AMBULANCE STRETCHER 76 INCHES LONG AND 24 INCHES WIDE
 IN THE HORIZONTAL POSITION.
  
 23. REQUIRED FIRE SEPARATIONS BETWEEN EACH APARTMENT
 AND/OR TENANT SHALL BE CLEARLY INDICATED AND
 ILLUSTRATED ON THE BUILDING PLAN.
  
 24. REQUIRED CORRIDOR FIRE RATING SHALL BE CLEARLY
 INDICATED AND ILLUSTRATED ON THE BUILDING PLAN.
  
 25. ALL EXISTING AND NEW FIRE HYDRANTS PLANNED FOR THIS
 DEVELOPMENT SHALL BE CLEARLY INDICATED AND IDENTIFIED
 ON THE PLAN AND CLOSELY COORDINATED WITH THE BUREAU OF
 FIRE PREVENTION.
  
 26. ALL FIRE DEPARTMENT SPRINKLER SYSTEM CONNECTIONS
 (FDC,S) FOR THE PROJECT SHALL BE IDENTIFIED AND
 COORDINATED WITH THE BUREAU OF FIRE PREVENTION.
 CONSIDER MULTIPLE FDC'S I.E ONE FOR THE PARKING GARAGE,
 ONE FOR LOWER APTS, ONE FOR UPPER, ETC.
  
 27. ALL FIRE WATER MAINS, SIZES AND THEIR VALVE
 ASSEMBLIES SHALL BE CLEARLY IDENTIFIED AND ILLUSTRATED
 ON THE PLAN.
  
 28. THE BUREAU'S APPROVAL OF THIS SUBMITTED PROJECT
