2015-03-09 13:42:52THE FOLLOWING COMMENTS WERE SUBMITTED BY PETER LEDUC,
 FIRE MARSHAL, BUREAU OF FIRE PREVENTION, WEST PALM
 BEACH FIRE RESCUE.
  
 THIS REVIEW CAN ONLY BE CONSIDERED PRELIMINARY AS THE
 DRAWINGS THAT WERE REVIEWED WERE NOT COMPLETE.
 ADDITIONAL COMMENTS CAN BE EXPECTED WHEN FULL DRAWINGS
 ARE SUBMITTED FOR PERMIT.
  
 THE FIRE PREVENTION BUREAU HAS NO OBJECTIONS TO THE
 PROPOSED PROJECT.
  
 1. CONSTRUCTION, DEMOLITION, AND RENOVATION TO COMPLY
 WITH NFPA 241.
  
 2. SITE ACCESS AND EXIT POINTS ARE TO BE CLEARLY
 IDENTIFIED AND MAINTAINED FOR EMERGENCY VEHICLES DURING
 ALL CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES.
  
 3. THE BUILDING ADDRESS SHALL BE CLEARLY VISIBLE FROM
 ALL ACCESS ROADWAYS, INCLUDING DURING CONSTRUCTION.
 ADDRESS NUMBERS SHALL CONTRAST WITH THEIR BACKGROUND
 AND SHALL NOT BE LESS THAN SIX (6) INCHES IN HEIGHT
 WITH A ONE (1) INCH STROKE FOR ALL BUILDINGS.
  
 4. TRASH AND DEBRIS IS TO BE REMOVED FROM THE SITE
 DAILY OR MORE OFTEN TO REDUCE THE ACCUMULATION OF
 POTENTIAL LIFE AND FIRE SAFETY HAZARDS.
  
 5. PLEASE PROVIDE THE OCCUPANCY TYPE OF EACH BUILDING.
 ARE THE BUILDINGS FUNCTIONING AS MULTIUSE OCCUPANCIES?
 INDICATE IF THE BUILDINGS ARE DESIGNED FOR MIXED USE
 (NON-SEPARATED) OR SEPARATED USE PER SECTION 6.1.14 OF
 NFPA 101. FOR NON-SEPARATED MIXED USE OCCUPANCIES, THE
 MOST STRINGENT FIRE AND LIFE SAFETY REQUIREMENTS OF
 EACH OCCUPANCY SHALL APPLY TO THE BUILDING.
  
 6. A NFPA 13 COMPLAINT FIRE SPRINKLER SYSTEM IS
 REQUIRED FOR EACH STRUCTURE, INCLUDING THE GARAGE WITH
 A NFPA 14 COMPLIANT WET STANDPIPE SYSTEM. TEMPORARY
 STANDPIPES ARE REQUIRED WHEN THE BUILDING REACHES THREE
 LEVELS OR THIRTY FEET WHILE BEING CONSTRUCTED. SEPARATE
 SHOP DRAWINGS, ARE REQUIRED TO BE SUBMITTED, REVIEWED
 AND APPROVED BY THE FIRE PREVENTION BUREAU PRIOR TO ANY
 INSTALLATION.
  
 7. PARKING STRUCTURES SHALL COMPLY WITH THE
 REQUIREMENTS OF NFPA 88A 2011 EDITION,AND NFPA 101,
 CHAPTER 42 AND ALL OTHER APPLICABLE CODES.\
  
 8. A MONITORED FIRE ALARM SYSTEM IS REQUIRED FOR THIS
 STRUCTURE. SEPARATE SHOP DRAWINGS, ARE REQUIRED TO BE
 SUBMITTED, REVIEWED AND APPROVED BY THE FIRE PREVENTION
 BUREAU PRIOR TO ANY INSTALLATION.
  
 9. ALL VERTICAL AND HORIZONTAL FIRE SEPARATIONS FOR
 THIS BUILDING SHALL BE CLEARLY IDENTIFIED AND INDICATED
 ON THE PLANS.
  
 10. ALL FIRE RATED OPENING PROTECTIONS (FIRE DOORS AND
 HARDWARE) SHALL BE CLEARLY IDENTIFIED AND INDICATED IN
 THE DOOR SCHEDULE. ALL DOORS THAT OPEN ONTO EXIT ACCESS
 CORRIDORS SHALL BE AT LEAST 20 MINUTE FIRE RATED AND BE
 EQUIPPED WITH SELF-CLOSING DEVICES THAT CAUSE THE DOOR
 TO POSITIVELY LATCH WHEN CLOSED. THIS REQUIREMENT SHALL
 BE CLEARLY INDICATED AND ILLUSTRATED ON THE DOOR
 SCHEDULE.
  
 11. ALL EXIT DISCHARGE LOCATIONS SHALL BE CLEARLY
 ILLUSTRATED ON THE PLAN. SHEET A-1.0 INDICATES A
 STAIRWAY EXIT DOOR THAT DISCHARGES INTO A PARTS STORAGE
 ROOM. THIS IS A NONCOMFORMING EXIT AND WILL BE DENIED.
 AN ALTERNATIVE EXIT SHALL BE DESIGNED IN COMPLIANCE
 WITH NFPA CHAPTER 7.
  
 12. ALL PORTABLE FIRE EXTINGUISHERS LOCATIONS SHALL BE
 CLEARLY IDENTIFIED AND INDICATED ON THE PLAN.
  
 13. STAIR DETAIL SHALL BE PROVIDED INCLUDING MINIMUM
 RISE, RUN, AND TREAD DEPTH.
  
 14. KNOX-BOX KEY SYSTEM SHALL BE REQUIRED FOR THIS
 BUILDING.
  
 15. ALL ELEVATORS SHALL BE EQUIPPED WITH A REGION 7
 KEYWAY SYSTEM.
  
 ANY BUILDING THAT IS MORE THAN THREE STORIES HIGH OR IN
 WHICH THE VERTICAL DISTANCE BETWEEN THE BOTTOM TERMINAL
 LANDING AND THE TOP TERMINAL LANDING EXCEEDS 25 FEET
 MUST BE CONSTRUCTED TO CONTAIN AT LEAST ONE PASSENGER
 ELEVATOR THAT IS OPERATIONAL AND WILL ACCOMMODATE AN
 AMBULANCE STRETCHER 76 INCHES LONG AND 24 INCHES WIDE
 IN THE HORIZONTAL POSITION.
  
 16. TACTILE SIGNAGE SHALL BE INSTALLED AT ALL EXIT
 DOORS.
  
 17. COMPLETE LIFE SAFETY PLANS FOR EACH OCCUPANCY SHALL
 BE PROVIDED THAT ILLUSTRATE OCCUPANT LOADS, TRAVEL
 DISTANCES, COMMON PATHS OF TRAVEL, DEAD-END CORRIDORS,
 EXIT SIGNS, EMERGENCY LIGHTING, EXITS LEADING TO A
 PUBLIC WAY, FIRE EXTINGUISHER LOCATIONS, AND ALL FIRE
 SAFETY FEATURES AND EQUIPMENT.
  
 18. OCCUPANT LOADS FOR ALL SPACES SHALL BE DETERMINED
 AND SUBMITTED WITH THE SUBMITTED PLAN AND WHEN APPROVED
 THEY ARE REQUIRED TO BE POSTED WHERE APPLICABLE.
  
 19. ALL ILLUMINATED EXIT SIGNS AND EMERGENCY LIGHTING
 EQUIPMENT SHALL BE ILLUSTRATED ON THE PLAN.
  
 20. THE FIRE RATING OF ALL SHAFTS SHALL BE CLEARLY
 INDICATED ON THE BUILDING PLAN.
  
 21. ALL EXISTING AND NEW FIRE HYDRANTS PLANNED FOR THIS
 DEVELOPMENT SHALL BE CLEARLY INDICATED AND IDENTIFIED
 ON THE PLAN AND CLOSELY COORDINATED WITH THE BUREAU OF
 FIRE PREVENTION.
  
 22. ALL FIRE DEPARTMENT SPRINKLER SYSTEM CONNECTIONS
 (FDC,S) FOR THE PROJECT SHALL BE IDENTIFIED AND
 COORDINATED WITH THE BUREAU OF FIRE PREVENTION.
  
 23. ALL FIRE WATER MAINS, SIZES AND THEIR VALVE
 ASSEMBLIES SHALL BE CLEARLY IDENTIFIED AND ILLUSTRATED
 ON THE PLAN.
  
 24. PER FLORIDA 69A-60.0081; NOTICE SIGNAGE IS REQUIRED
 FOR STRUCTURES WITH LIGHT-FRAME TRUSS-TYPE
 CONSTRUCTION. ANY COMMERCIAL, INDUSTRIAL, OR ANY
 MULTIUNIT RESIDENTIAL STRUCTURE OF THREE UNITS OR MORE
 WHICH USES HORIZONTAL OR VERTICAL LIGHT-FRAME
 TRUSS-TYPE CONSTRUCTION IN ANY PORTION SHALL BE MARKED
 WITH A MALTESE CROSS SIGN MEASURING 8 INCHES
 HORIZONTALLY AND 8 INCHES VERTICALLY, OF A BRIGHT RED
 REFLECTIVE COLOR. THE APPROVED SYMBOL SHALL BE PLACED
 WITHIN 24 INCHES TO THE LEFT OF THE MAIN ENTRY DOOR.
 1. STRUCTURES WITH LIGHT-FRAME TRUSS ROOFS SHALL BE
 MARKED WITH THE LETTER "R".
 2. STRUCTURES WITH LIGHT-FRAME TRUSS FLOOR SYSTEMS
 SHALL BE MARKED WITH THE LETTER "F".
 3. STRUCTURES WITH LIGHT-FRAME TRUSS FLOOR AND ROOF
 SYSTEMS SHALL BE MARKED WITH THE LETTERS "R/F".
