2014-09-08 11:49:59THE FOLLOWING COMMENTS WERE SUBMITTED BY PETER LEDUC,
 FIRE MARSHAL, BUREAU OF FIRE PREVENTION, WEST PALM
 BEACH FIRE RESCUE.
  
 THIS REVIEW CAN ONLY BE CONSIDERED PRELIMINARY AS THE
 DRAWINGS THAT WERE REVIEWED WERE NOT COMPLETE.
 ADDITIONAL COMMENTS CAN BE EXPECTED WHEN FULL DRAWINGS
 ARE SUBMITTED FOR PERMIT.
  
 THE FIRE PREVENTION BUREAU HAS NO OBJECTIONS TO THE
 PROPOSED PROJECT.
  
 1. CONSTRUCTION, DEMOLITION, AND RENOVATION TO COMPLY
 WITH NFPA 241.
  
 2. SITE ACCESS AND EXIT POINTS ARE TO BE CLEARLY
 IDENTIFIED AND MAINTAINED FOR EMERGENCY VEHICLES DURING
 ALL CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES.
  
 3. THE BUILDING ADDRESS SHALL BE CLEARLY VISIBLE FROM
 ALL ACCESS ROADWAYS, INCLUDING DURING CONSTRUCTION.
 ADDRESS NUMBERS SHALL CONTRAST WITH THEIR BACKGROUND
 AND SHALL NOT BE LESS THAN SIX (6) INCHES IN HEIGHT
 WITH A ONE (1) INCH STROKE FOR ALL BUILDINGS.
  
 4. TRASH AND DEBRIS IS TO BE REMOVED FROM THE SITE
 DAILY OR MORE OFTEN TO REDUCE THE ACCUMULATION OF
 POTENTIAL LIFE AND FIRE SAFETY HAZARDS.
  
 5. THE BUILDING CONSTRUCTION SHALL COMPLY WITH THE
 REQUIRERMENTS OF NFPA 130, FIXED GUIDEWAY TRANSIT AND
 PASSENEGER RAIL SYSTEMS AND NFPA 101, LIFE SAFETY CODE,
 FLORIDA 2010 EDITION; CHAPTER 12 NEW ASSEMBLY
 OCCUPANCIES.
  
 6. A NFPA 13 COMPLAINT FIRE SPRINKLER SYSTEM AND NFPA
 14 COMPLIANT WET STANDPIPE SYSTEM ARE REQUIRED FOR THIS
 STRUCTURE. SEPARATE SHOP DRAWINGS, ARE REQUIRED TO BE
 SUBMITTED, REVIEWED AND APPROVED BY THE FIRE PREVENTION
 BUREAU PRIOR TO ANY INSTALLATION.
  
 7. A MONITORED FIRE ALARM SYSTEM IS REQUIRED FOR THIS
 STRUCTURE. SEPARATE SHOP DRAWINGS, ARE REQUIRED TO BE
 SUBMITTED, REVIEWED AND APPROVED BY THE FIRE PREVENTION
 BUREAU PRIOR TO ANY INSTALLATION.
  
 8. KNOX-BOX KEY SYSTEM SHALL BE REQUIRED FOR THIS
 BUILDING.
  
 9. COMPLETE LIFE SAFETY PLANS FOR THE BUILDING SHALL BE
 PROVIDED THAT ILLUSTRATE OCCUPANT LOADS, TRAVEL
 DISTANCES, DEAD-END CORRIDORS AND ALL FIRE SAFETY
 EQUIPMENT.
  
 10. OCCUPANT LOADS FOR ALL SPACES SHALL BE DETERMINED
 AND SUBMITTED WITH THE SUBMITTED PLAN AND WHEN APPROVED
 THEY ARE REQUIRED TO BE POSTED WHERE APPLICABLE.
  
 11. A FIRE FLOW CALCULATION SHALL BE SUBMITTED SHAOWING
 ALL EXISTING AND NEW FIRE HYDRANTS PLANNED FOR THIS
 DEVELOPMENT AND BE CLEARLY INDICATED AND IDENTIFIED.
  
 12. ALL FIRE DEPARTMENT SPRINKLER SYSTEM CONNECTIONS
 (FDC,S) FOR THE PROJECT SHALL BE IDENTIFIED AND
 COORDINATED WITH THE BUREAU OF FIRE PREVENTION.
  
 13. THE FIRE RATING OF ALL SHAFTS SHALL BE CLEARLY
 INDICATED ON THE BUILDING PLAN.
  
 14. ALL VERTICAL AND HORIZONTAL FIRE SEPARATIONS FOR
 THIS BUILDING SHALL BE CLEARLY IDENTIFIED AND INDICATED
 ON THE PLANS.
  
 15. ALL PORTABLE FIRE EXTINGUISHERS LOCATIONS SHALL BE
 CLEARLY IDENTIFIED AND INDICATED ON THE PLAN.
  
 16. STAIR DETAIL SHALL BE PROVIDED INCLUDING MINIMUM
 RISE, RUN, AND TREAD DEPTH.
  
 17. ALL DIMENSIONS OF EACH PROPOSED ROOM/SPACE SHALL BE
 INDICATED ON THE PLAN.
  
 18. THE SERVICE YARD IS NOT A PUBLIC WAY AND EXITS CAN
 NOT BE ALLOWED TO DISCHARGE INTO THE AREA.
  
 19. A COMMON PATH OF TRAVEL FROM THE PLATFORM ENDS
 SHALL NOT EXCEED 82 FT OR ONE CAR LENGTH, WHICHEVER IS
 GREATER.
  
 20. THE CONCOURSE BRIDGE WIDTH SHALL MEET THE EXIT
 WIDTH REQUIREMENTS OF THE COMBINED OCCUPANCY LOAD
 LIMITS OF THE TRAIN PASSENGERS AND WAITING AREAS. A
 "SECURITY CHECKPOINT" IS LABLED ON THE CONCOURSE
 BRIDGE; ANY BARRIERS OR RESTRICTIONS FOR SECURITY
 REASONS SHALL BE COMPUTED INTO THE MEANS OF EGRESS
 CALCULATIONS AND APPROVED PRIOR TO INSTALLATION.
  
 20. WHERE MEANS OF EGRESS ROUTES FROM SEPARATE
 PLATFORMS CONVERGE, THE SUBSEQUENT CAPACITY OF THE
 EGRESS ROUTE SHALL BE SUFFICIENT TO MAINTAIN THE
 REQUIRED EVACATION TIME FROM THE INCIDENT PLATFORM.
