2014-03-31 12:15:37THE FOLLOWING COMMENTS WERE SUBMITTED BY PETER LEDUC,
 FIRE MARSHAL, BUREAU OF FIRE PREVENTION, WEST PALM
 BEACH FIRE RESCUE.
  
 THIS REVIEW CAN ONLY BE CONSIDERED PRELIMINARY AS THE
 DRAWINGS THAT WERE REVIEWED WERE NOT COMPLETE.
 ADDITIONAL COMMENTS CAN BE EXPECTED WHEN FULL DRAWINGS
 ARE SUBMITTED FOR PERMIT.
  
 1. CONSTRUCTION, DEMOLITION, AND RENOVATION TO COMPLY
 WITH NFPA 241.
  
 2. SITE ACCESS AND EXIT POINTS ARE TO BE CLEARLY
 IDENTIFIED AND MAINTAINED FOR EMERGENCY VEHICLES DURING
 ALL CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES.
  
 3. THE BUILDING ADDRESS SHALL BE CLEARLY VISIBLE FROM
 ALL ACCESS ROADWAYS, INCLUDING DURING CONSTRUCTION.
 ADDRESS NUMBERS SHALL CONTRAST WITH THEIR BACKGROUND
 AND SHALL NOT BE LESS THAN SIX (6) INCHES IN HEIGHT
 WITH A ONE (1) INCH STROKE FOR ALL BUILDINGS.
  
 4. TRASH AND DEBRIS IS TO BE REMOVED FROM THE SITE
 DAILY OR MORE OFTEN TO REDUCE THE ACCUMULATION OF
 POTENTIAL LIFE AND FIRE SAFETY HAZARDS.
  
 5. ALL APARTMENT BUILDINGS SHALL COMPLY WITH THE
 FLORIDA FIRE PREVENTION CODE, 2010 EDITION, THE LIFE
 SAFETY CODE, 2009 EDITION, INCLUDING MORE SPECIFICALLY,
 CHAPTER 30, NEW APARTMENTS.
  
 6. ALL PARKING STRUCTURES SHALL COMPLY WITH NFPA 88A,
 PARKING STRUCTURES AND NFPA 101, THE LIFE SAFETY CODE,
 INCLUDING MORE SPECIFICALLY, CHAPTER 42 STORAGE
 OCCUPANCIES (PARKING STRUCTURES)
  
 7. THE SEPARATION AND OPENING PROTECTION BETWEEN THE
 PARKING GARAGE AND HOTEL SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE AND
 COMPLIANCE WITH THE SPECIFIC AND MOST STRINGENT
 PROVISION REQUIREMENT OF EITHER CHAPTER.
  
 8. SMOKE ALARMS ARE REQUIRED IN EVERY SLEEPING ROOM AND
 OUTSIDE OF THE SLEEPING ROOMS AND IN ALL LEVELS OF THE
 DWELLING UNITS. THESE DETECTORS SHALL BE HARD WIRED AND
 SHALL BE INTERCONNECTED TO ONE ANOTHER.
  
 9. INTERIOR FINISH CLASSIFICATIONS FOR ALL WALLS AND
 CEILINGS SHALL BE CLEARLY INDICATED ON THE SUBMITTED
 BUILDING PERMIT PLAN.
  
 10. A NFPA 13 COMPLAINT FIRE SPRINKLER SYSTEM AND NFPA
 14 COMPLIANT WET STANDPIPE SYSTEM ARE REQUIRED FOR THIS
 STRUCTURE. TEMPORARY STANDPIPES ARE REQUIRED WHEN THE
 BUILDING REACHES THREE LEVELS OR THIRTY FEET WHILE
 BEING CONSTRUCTED. SEPARATE SHOP DRAWINGS, ARE REQUIRED
 TO BE SUBMITTED, REVIEWED AND APPROVED BY THE FIRE
 PREVENTION BUREAU PRIOR TO ANY INSTALLATION.
  
 11. A MONITORED FIRE ALARM SYSTEM IS REQUIRED FOR THIS
 STRUCTURE. SEPARATE SHOP DRAWINGS, ARE REQUIRED TO BE
 SUBMITTED, REVIEWED AND APPROVED BY THE FIRE PREVENTION
 BUREAU PRIOR TO ANY INSTALLATION.
  
 12. ALL VERTICAL AND HORIZONTAL FIRE SEPARATIONS FOR
 THIS BUILDING SHALL BE CLEARLY IDENTIFIED AND INDICATED
 ON THE PLANS.
  
 13. ALL FIRE RATED OPENING PROTECTIONS (FIRE DOORS AND
 HARDWARE) SHALL BE CLEARLY IDENTIFIED AND INDICATED IN
 THE DOOR SCHEDULE. ALL DOORS THAT OPEN ONTO EXIT ACCESS
 CORRIDORS SHALL BE AT LEAST 20 MINUTE FIRE RATED AND BE
 EQUIPPED WITH SELF-CLOSING DEVICES THAT CAUSE THE DOOR
 TO POSITIVELY LATCH WHEN CLOSED. THIS REQUIREMENT SHALL
 BE CLEARLY INDICATED AND ILLUSTRATED ON THE DOOR
 SCHEDULE.
  
 14. PRESCRIPTIVE STRENGTH REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL
 HANDRAILS AND GUARDRAILS FOR THE BUILDING SHALL BE
 PROVIDED AND CLEARLY INDICATED ON THE PLANS.
  
 15. ALL EXIT DISCHARGE LOCATIONS SHALL BE CLEARLY
 ILLUSTRATED ON THE PLAN.
  
 16. ALL ILLUMINATED EXIT SIGNS AND EMERGENCY LIGHTING
 EQUIPMENT SHALL BE ILLUSTRATED ON THE PLAN.
  
 17. ALL PORTABLE FIRE EXTINGUISHERS LOCATIONS SHALL BE
 CLEARLY IDENTIFIED AND INDICATED ON THE PLAN.
  
 18. STAIR DETAIL SHALL BE PROVIDED INCLUDING MINIMUM
 RISE, RUN, AND TREAD DEPTH.
  
 19. KNOX-BOX KEY SYSTEM SHALL BE REQUIRED FOR THIS
 BUILDING.
  
 20. ALL ELEVATORS SHALL BE EQUIPPED WITH A REGION 7
 KEYWAY SYSTEM.
  
 21. TACTILE SIGNAGE SHALL BE INSTALLED AT ALL EXIT
 DOORS.
  
 22. COMPLETE LIFE SAFETY PLANS FOR THE BUILDING SHALL
 BE PROVIDED THAT ILLUSTRATE OCCUPANT LOADS, TRAVEL
 DISTANCES, DEAD-END CORRIDORS AND ALL FIRE SAFETY
 EQUIPMENT.
  
 23. OCCUPANT LOADS FOR ALL SPACES SHALL BE DETERMINED
 AND SUBMITTED WITH THE SUBMITTED PLAN AND WHEN APPROVED
 THEY ARE REQUIRED TO BE POSTED WHERE APPLICABLE.
  
 24. THE FIRE RATING OF ALL SHAFTS SHALL BE CLEARLY
 INDICATED ON THE BUILDING PLAN.
  
 25. REQUIRED FIRE SEPARATIONS BETWEEN EACH APARTMENT
 AND/OR TENANT SHALL BE CLEARLY INDICATED AND
 ILLUSTRATED ON THE BUILDING PLAN.
  
 26. REQUIRED CORRIDOR FIRE RATING SHALL BE CLEARLY
 INDICATED AND ILLUSTRATED ON THE BUILDING PLAN.
  
 27. ALL EXISTING AND NEW FIRE HYDRANTS PLANNED FOR THIS
 DEVELOPMENT SHALL BE CLEARLY INDICATED AND IDENTIFIED
 ON THE PLAN AND CLOSELY COORDINATED WITH THE BUREAU OF
 FIRE PREVENTION.
  
 28. ALL FIRE DEPARTMENT SPRINKLER SYSTEM CONNECTIONS
 (FDC,S) FOR THE PROJECT SHALL BE IDENTIFIED AND
 COORDINATED WITH THE BUREAU OF FIRE PREVENTION.
  
 29. ALL FIRE WATER MAINS, SIZES AND THEIR VALVE
 ASSEMBLIES SHALL BE CLEARLY IDENTIFIED AND ILLUSTRATED
 ON THE PLAN.
  
 30. ANNUALLY, EMERGENCY INSTRUCTIONS ARE TO BE PROVIDED
 TO EACH APARTMENT AND/OR TENANT. THESE INSTRUCTIONS ARE
 TO INDICATE THE LOCATION OF ALARMS, EGRESS PATHS, AND
 ACTIONS TO BE TAKEN IN THE EVENT OF A FIRE OR ALARM
 ACTIVATION.
  
 31. NOTICE IS REQUIRED FOR STRUCTURES WITH LIGHT-FRAME
 TRUSS-TYPE CONSTRUCTION. ANY COMMERCIAL, INDUSTRIAL, OR
 ANY MULTIUNIT RESIDENTIAL STRUCTURE OF THREE UNITS OR
 MORE WHICH USES HORIZONTAL OR VERTICAL LIGHT-FRAME
 TRUSS-TYPE CONSTRUCTION IN ANY PORTION SHALL BE MARKED
 WITH AN APPROVED SYMBOL. THE APPROVED SYMBOL SHALL BE
 PLACED WITHIN 24 INCHES TO THE LEFT OF THE MAIN ENTRY
 DOOR.
  
 32. THE BUREAU'S APPROVAL OF THIS SUBMITTED PROJECT
 DOES NOT CONSTITUTE IT'S FINAL REVIEW OR APPROVAL.
  
 33. THE BUREAU SHALL REVIEW ALL SUBMITTED BUILDING
 PLANS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF ALL
