| | MEANS THE DESIGN PROCESS. CRIME PREVENTION THROUGH |
| | ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN INVOLVES DESIGNING THE BUILT |
| | ENVIRONMENT TO REDUCE THE OPPORTUNITY FOR CRIME AND |
| | DISORDER. THIS APPROACH TO SECURITY DESIGN RECOGNIZES |
| | THE INTENDED USE OF SPACE IN A BUILDING AND IS |
| | DIFFERENT FROM TRADITIONAL SECURITY PRACTICES, WHICH |
| | FOCUSES ON DENYING ACCESS TO A CRIME TARGET WITH |
| | BARRIERS AND TECHNIQUES SUCH AS LOCKS, ALARMS, FENCES, |
| | AND GATES. CPTED TAKES ADVANTAGE OF OPPORTUNITIES FOR |
| | NATURAL SURVEILLANCE, ACCESS CONTROL AND TERRITORIAL |
| | REINFORCEMENT. THE DESIGN PROCESS SHOULD INCLUDE CPTED |
| | SO THAT NATURAL AND NORMAL USES OF THE ENVIRONMENT WILL |
| | MEET THE SAME GOALS AS PHYSICAL AND TECHNICAL |
| | PROTECTION METHODS. |

| | POINTS, ENCOURAGE SUBCONTRACTORS TO SECURE MACHINERY, |
| | TOOLS AT END OF WORK DAY, FENCING WITH SCREENING AND OR |
| | ANY OTHER MEASURE DEEMED APPROPRIATE TO PROVIDE A SAFE |
| | AND SECURE WORKING ENVIRONMENT. NONCOMPLIANCE WITH THE |
| | APPROVED SECURITY AND MANAGEMENT PLAN MAY RESULT IN A |
| | STOP-WORK ORDER. NO TRESPASSING SIGNS NEED TO BE POSTED |
| | EVERY FIVE-HUNDRED FEET (500?) AROUND THE PERIMETER OF |
| | THE CONSTRUCTION SITE AND A SIGNED AFFIDAVIT NEEDS TO |
| | BE ON FILE WITH THE WEST PALM BEACH POLICE DEPARTMENT |

| | 2. PROVIDE NATURAL SURVEILLANCE THROUGHOUT THE SITE BY: |
| | A. PROVIDING LANDSCAPING THAT DOES NOT CREATE HIDING |

| | B. PROVIDING CLEARLY MARKED TRANSITIONAL ZONES THAT |
| | INDICATE MOVEMENT FROM PUBLIC TO SEMI-PUBLIC THROUGH |
| | USE OF BRICK PAVERS. |
| | C. ENSURE PARKING AREAS ARE VISIBLE FROM WINDOWS AND |
| | ARE NOT BLOCKED BY LANDSCAPING. |
