 LANDSCAPE COMMENTS
  
 1. PLEASE PROVIDE RESPONSES TO REVIEW COMMENTS IN
 WRITTEN FORMAT.
  
 2. PURSUANT TO ARTICLE XIV, SECTION 94-443(C)(3)(B),
 ONE INTERIOR LANDSCAPE ISLAND SHALL BE PROVIDED FOR
 EVERY TEN PARKING SPACES OR FRACTION THEREOF.INTERIOR
 LANDSCAPE ISLANDS SHALL BE AT LEAST FIVE FEET WIDE
 (INSIDE DIMENSION) AND SHALL CONTAIN AT LEAST ONE SHADE
 OR FLOWERING TREE.ADDITIONAL LANDSCAPE ISLANDS WILL
 NEED TO BE ADDED TO COMPLY WITH THIS REQUIREMENT.SOME
 OF THE EXISTING ISLANDS ARE NOT MEETING THE WIDTH
 REQUIREMENT.
  
 3. PURSUANT TO SECTION 94-443(C)(3)(A), EACH ROW OF
 PARKING SPACES SHALL BE TERMINATED BY LANDSCAPED
 ISLANDS.THE LANDSCAPED ISLAND SHALL CONTAIN AT LEAST
 ONE SHADE OR FLOWERING TREE.THERE IS AT LEAST ONE
 AREA OF THE SITE WHERE TWO PARKING ROWS ARE TERMINATED
 BY A LARGE LANDSCAPE ISLAND AND ONLY ONE TREE HAS BEEN
 PROVIDED, INSTEAD OF THE TWO TREES REQUIRED.
  
 4. MUCH OF THE PROPOSED LANDSCAPING IS WITHIN UTILITY
 EASEMENTS.PLEASE OBTAIN WRITTEN PERMISSION FROM THE
 EASEMENT HOLDER TO ALLOW THE PLANTING WITHIN THEIR
 EASEMENTS.
  
 5. THERE ARE NUMEROUS CONFLICTS BETWEEN PROPOSED
 LANDSCAPING AND UTILITIES.ALL EASEMENTS AND UTILITIES
 SUCH AS OVERHEAD LINES, METERS, CLEAN-OUTS, TELEPHONE
 LINES, WATER AND SEWER LINES, ELECTRIC TRANSFORMERS AND
 ANYTHING ELSE THAT MAY INTERFERE WITH THE LANDSCAPING
 SHALL BE SHOWN ON THE LANDSCAPE PLANS.ALL STREET
 LIGHTS SHALL ALSO BE SHOWN ON THE LANDSCAPE PLAN.
  
 6. A NEW TREE ALTERATION PERMIT APPLICATION NEEDS TO BE
 SUBMITTED WITH THIS CURRENT PROJECT. ALL EXISTING AND
 PROPOSED TREES MUST BE ACCURATELY IDENTIFIED. PLEASE
 PROVIDE THE TOTAL LOSS OF TREE CANOPY MEASURED IN
 SQUARE FEET OR BY CALIPER INCH OF TRUNK DIAMETER FOR
 THE 104 TREES PROPOSED TO BE REMOVED.DETERMINE THE
 AMOUNT OF NEW CANOPY THAT WILL BE ADDED BASED UPON THE
 SPECIFICATIONS ON THE PLANT LIST.YOU WILL BE
 RESPONSIBLE TO MITIGATE THE DIFFERENCE (NET LOSS) OF
 TREE CANOPY ON SITE OR ON CITY PROPERTY.
  
 7. INSTALL LANDSCAPING ON THE INSIDE OF THE PROPOSED 26
 FOOT WALL TO CREATE A VISTA AS VIEWED FROM THE DINING
 ROOM.PERHAPS FICUS REPENS COULD BE ATTACHED TO BOTH
 SIDES OF THE WALL TO SOFTEN THE IMPACT OF AN EIGHT FOOT
 WALL IN CONJUNCTION WITH ADDITIONAL LANDSCAPING BEING
 INSTALLED BETWEEN THE WALL AND THE DINING ROOM.
  
 8. PURSUANT TO SECTION 94-445(4)(B), WHENEVER THE
 CLUSTERING OF PALM TREES IS UTILIZED, A MINIMUM OF
 THREE PALM TREES PER CLUSTER SHALL BE REQUIRED.THE
 PROPOSED PALMS IN THE LANDSCAPE ISLANDS (TERMINAL AND
 INTERIOR) SHALL BE GROUPED IN CLUSTERS OF THREE TO
 SERVE AS A SUBSTITUTION FOR REQUIRED SHADE TREES.
  
 9. PURSUANT TO SECTION 94-443(B)(4), AT LEAST ONE SHADE
 OR FLOWERING TREE SHALL BE PLANTED IN A REQUIRED BUFFER
 STRIP FOR EACH 30 LINEAR FEET OR FRACTION THEREOF ALONG
 THE NORTH PERIMETER OF THE SITE TO FILL THE GAPS.TREE
 SPECIES THROUGHOUT THE SITE SHALL BE SELECTED BASED
 UPON FPL?S ?PLANT THE RIGHT TREE IN THE RIGHT PLACE?
 THAT REGULATES WHAT TREES CAN BE PLANTED NEAR OR UNDER
 POWER LINES.
  
 10. BASED UPON THE INFORMATION PROVIDED ON THE
 XERISCAPE DESIGN OPTION CHART, FIVE POINTS HAVE BEEN
 CREDITED FOR UTILIZATION OF A MOISTURE SENSING
 CONTROLLER OTHER THAN A RAINSWITCH.IN ORDER TO TAKE
 ADVANTAGE OF THIS, YOU MUST SPECIFY THE EQUIPMENT THAT
 WILL BE INSTALLED.
  
 11. IN ORDER TO FOLLOW XERISCAPE PRINCIPLES AND REDUCE
 MAINTENANCE, THE USE OF GROUND COVER INSTEAD OF SOD
 SHOULD BE UTILIZED IN SMALL AREAS SUCH AS LANDSCAPE
 ISLANDS.
  
 12. MUCH OF THE EXISTING LANDSCAPING IS TO REMAIN.ALL
 EXISTING TREES AND PLANT MATERIAL SHALL BE IN GOOD
 CONDITION.A CERTIFIED ARBORIST SHALL BE HIRED TO
 PRUNE ALL TREES IN NEED OF CORRECTIVE PRUNING. ALL
 TREES AND PLANTS THAT DONOT MEET THE FLORIDA NUMBER 1
 GRADES AND STANDARDS SHALL BE REPLACED.
