 LANDSCAPE COMMENTS
  
 1. PLEASE PROVIDE RESPONSES TO REVIEW COMMENTS IN
 WRITTEN FORMAT
  
 2. PURSUANT TO ARTICLE XIV, SECTION 94-443(3)(A), EVERY
 TERMINAL LANDSCAPE ISLAND SHALL CONTAIN AT LEAST ONE
 (1) SHADE OR FLOWERING TREE.THE REQUIRED TREES WITHIN
 TERMINAL ISLANDS ARE MISSING IN MULTIPLE LOCATIONS
 THROUGHOUT THE SITE.THE UTILITIES NEED TO BE KEPT OUT
 OF THE LANDSCAPE ISLANDS?NOT THE REQUIRED TREES.
  
 3. PURSUANT TO ARTICLE XIV, SECTION 94-443(3)(B),
 INTERIOR LANDSCAPE ISLANDS SHALL CONTAIN AT LEAST ONE
 (1) SHADE OR FLOWERING TREE.NO TREE WAS PROPOSED FOR
 THE CENTER LANDSCAPE ISLAND ALONG THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE
 RETAIL BUILDING OR IN THE CENTER LANDSCAPE ISLAND ON
 THE WEST SIDE OF THE FINANCIAL INSTITUTION.
  
 4. SOME OF THE SITE LIGHTING AND VARIOUS UTILITIES ARE
 IN CONFLICT WITH PROPOSED LANDSCAPING, ESPECIALLY
 WITHIN THE LANDSCAPE ISLANDS.SITE LIGHTING AND
 ANYTHING ELSE THAT MAY BE IN CONFLICT WITH THE PROPOSED
 LANDSCAPING SHALL BE SHOWN ON THE LANDSCAPE PLAN TO
 AVOID POTENTIAL CONFLICTS.UTILITIES SHALL BE KEPT OUT
 OF THE LANDSCAPE ISLANDS AND OTHER REQUIRED LANDSCAPE
 BUFFERS.
  
 5. IF THERE ARE ANY LANDSCAPE DEFICIENCIES WITHIN
 ESTABLISHED AREAS, THE LANDSCAPING WILL NEED TO BE
 BROUGHT UP TO CURRENT STANDARDS.ALL EXISTING
 LANDSCAPING THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE SITE SHALL BE IN GOOD
 CONDITION AND WILL BE INCLUDED WITH THE LANDSCAPE
 FINAL.
  
 6. PURSUANT TO ARTICLE XIV, SECTION 94-442(D,) PRIVATE
 LAND AND PUBLIC RIGHTS-OF-WAY BETWEEN STREET OR
 SIDEWALK SURFACES AND REQUIRED BUFFER STRIPS AND
 LANDSCAPED OPEN SPACE AREAS SHALL BE PLANTED WITH
 GRASS.NO GRASS WAS PROPOSED ALONG OKEECHOBEE
 BOULEVARD OR BENOIST FARMS ROAD.GRASS AREAS SHALL BE
 SODDED. PLEASE REMOVE ALL REFERENCE TO SEEDING ON THE
 INFORMATION SHEET.IN ADDITION, THE NOTE ON LP-1 THAT
 REFERENCES IRRIGATION COVERAGE SHALL INCLUDE THE
 RIGHTS-OF-WAY.
  
 7. PURSUANT TO SECTION 94-443(B)(4), AT LEAST ONE (1)
 SHADE OR FLOWERING TREE SHALL BE PLANTED IN THE
 REQUIRED BUFFER STRIP FOR EACH 30 LINEAR FEET OR
 PORTION THEREOF ALONG THE WEST PERIMETER OF THE SITE.
 THERE HAS NOT BEEN ENOUGH SPACE PROVIDED FOR THE
 PROPOSED TREES ALONG THE WEST PERIMETER.STAFF
 RECOMMENDS THAT THE LANDSCAPE STRIP ALONG THE EAST SIDE
 OF BUILDING #7 BE REMOVED, AND THE BUILDING BE SHIFTED
 TO THE EAST.THIS WILL PROVIDE ADDITIONAL LANDSCAPE
 AREA TO THE WEST SIDE THAT WILL ALLOW ROOM TO PLANT
 PALMS OR SMALL TREES.THE BIKE RACK COULD BE MOVED TO
 THE OVERSIZED LANDSCAPE ISLAND ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE
 PARKING LOT ENTRANCE. ADDITIONALLY, STAFF RECOMMENDS
 THAT THE 26 FOOT DRIVE AISLE ON THE EAST SIDE OF
 BUILDING #6 BE REDUCED TO 24 FEET.THAT WOULD ALLOW
 THE BUILDING TO BE SHIFTED TO THE EAST BY 2 FEET,
 THEREBY ALLOWING TREES TO BE PLANTED ALONG THE WEST
 SIDE OF THE BUILDING WITHIN AN EXPANDED LANDSCAPE
 STRIP.
  
 8. PLEASE REVISE THE ?CODE COMPLIANCE CHART? TO
 ACCURATELY SHOW WHAT IS REQUIRED, EXISTING AND
 PROPOSED.THE PROPOSED TABLE SHALL BE THE COMPOSITE OF
 THE EXISTING AND NEWLY PLANTED TREES, SHRUBS AND GROUND
 COVER.BASED UPON THE LANDSCAPE CALCULATIONS PROVIDED,
 THERE ARE DEFICIENCIES IN THE SQUARE FOOTAGE OF
 PROPOSED LANDSCAPING AND THE NUMBER OF SHADE TREES
 PROPOSED.
  
 9. PLEASE PROVIDE THE TABULATION NECESSARY TO COMPLY
 WITH SECTION 94-442(G), WHICH REQUIRES THE APPLICATION
 OF CERTAIN XERISCAPE TECHNIQUES FOR LANDSCAPING.
  
 10. IN KEEPING WITH XERISCAPE AND MAINTENANCE
 PRINCIPLES, PALM GROUPINGS SHALL BE UNDER PLANTED WITH
 SHRUBS AND/OR GROUND COVER.IN ADDITION, SMALL
 ISOLATED AREAS SUCH AS THE LANDSCAPE ISLANDS SOUTH OF
 BUILDINGS 1-5 SHALL BE PLANTED WITH SHRUBBERY INSTEAD
 OF THE PROPOSED SOD.
  
 11. IN GENERAL, THE PROPOSED LANDSCAPING VISIBLE FROM
 ADJACENT RIGHTS-OF-WAY IS WEAK.PLEASE PROVIDE AN
 ADDITIONAL LAYER OF PLANTING ALONG THE BERM ON THE
 STREET SIDE OF THE HEDGE.SPECIMEN SHRUBS AND GROUND
 COVER SHOULD BE ADDED TO ENHANCE THE LANDSCAPE.THE
 HEDGE AND BERM ALONG THE RIGHTS-OF-WAY COULD BE LAID
 OUT IN A CURVILINEAR FASHION WITH THE SABAL GROUPINGS
 AND UNDER PLANTING ON THE STREET SIDE OF THE SLOPE AND
 THE SHADE TREES ON THE BACK SIDE, TO CREATE MORE
 INTEREST.
  
 12. TREES SHOULD BE ADDED IN THE LANDSCAPE ISLAND THAT
 SEPARATES THE BY-PASS LANE FROM THE AUTO TELLER LANES.
  
 13. THE MEDIAN ALONG OKEECHOBEE BOULEVARD SHALL BE
 LANDSCAPED AND MAINTAINED WITH THIS APPLICATION, BASED
 UPON THE COUNTY?S APPROVED SITE PLAN.
