 10, 2012, THE CRA OFFERS THE FOLLOWING COMMENTS:
  
 PLEASE FIND FOLLOWING, COMMENTS FROM THE DOWNTOWN/CITY
 CENTER CRA REGARDING THIS APPLICATION AND THE IMPACT OF
 THE PROPOSAL ON THE ADJACENT NORTHWEST NEIGHBORHOOD
 (EAST OF TAMARIND AVENUE).
  
 GENERAL
 - COMMUNITY INPUT IS REQUIRED.
 - WE BELIEVE THAT 16' IS AN EXCESSIVE HEIGHT; AN 8'
 MAXIMUM HEIGHT WALL MAY SERVE THE SAME PURPOSE WITH
 LESS IMPACT ON THE NEIGHBORHOOD.
 - THE DRAWINGS SUBMITTED MAY NOT ACCURATELY DEPICT THE
 SCALE OF THE WALL VS. PLANT MATERIALS, ESPECIALLY IN
 THE 1-YEAR AND 5-YEAR PROJECTIONS. SUGGEST REVISING
 DRAWINGS TO ACCURATELY REFLECT PROPOSED PLANT MATERIAL
 SCALE.
 - STRONGLY RECOMMEND VINE ON WALL FACING TAMARIND TO
 SOFTEN THE CONCRETE IMPACT.
 - CONCERN WITH THE HIGH-RISE OAKS. THESE MAY NOT
 PROVIDE DENSE ENOUGH CANOPY TO HIDE THE WALL. SUGGEST
 CONSIDERING OTHER SPECIES. (WE RECOGNIZE THAT PROXIMITY
 TO TRAIN TRACKS IS A CONSIDERATION IN THOSE AREAS WHERE
 RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE IS CLOSEST TO WALL).
 - STRONGLY RECOMMEND PLANTING ALL TREES ON BOTH SIDES
 OF THE WALL CLOSER TOGETHER FOR BETTER AESTHETIC IMPACT
 ON THE NEIGHBORHOOD.
