 1-ENGINEER'S LETTER SUBMITTED IS FOR "STRUCTURAL
 INVESTIGATION OF EXISTING SHINGLE ROOF SYSTEM TO BE
 REPLACED WITH ASPHALTIC SHINGLE AT THE RESIDENCE BELOW
 415 31ST STREET, WEST PALM BEACH, FLORIDA 33404".
 A) THE ENGINEER REPORT DOESN'T PROVIDE THE REQUESTED
 INFORMATION FOR THE ROOF TO WALL CONNECTIONS. THE ROOF
 TO WALL CONNECTIONS SHALL BE IMPROVED AS REQUIRED BY
 SEC. 706.8 FBC-EXISTING BUILDING. ENGINEER TO READ SEC.
 706.8 FBC-EXISTING BUILDING AND PROVIDE REQUIRED
 INFORMATION. SPECIFY STRAPS AS REQUIRED.
 NOTE: BUILDING WAS BUILT IN 1926. ROOF TO WALL
 CONNECTIONS NEED TO MEET OR EXCEED CURRENT CODE

 FROM ANDRE BIGATAO, P.E. SUBMITTED NEED TO BE MORE
 SPECIFIC AND PROVIDE MORE INFORMATION.
  
 A)ENGINEER NEEDS TO SPECIFY THE DATE OF INSPECTION, WHO
 MADE THE INSPECTION, HOW THE ROOF WAS ACCESSED TO VIEW
 THE CONNECTIONS OF THE HIP RAFTER ("KING JACK") TO THE
 HIP GIRDER WITH STRAPS HAVING AT LEAST FOUR FASTENERS
 ON EACH END AND ON EACH CORNER OF THE BUILDING. PROVIDE
 PHOTOS SHOWING THE CONNECTIONS.
 SEC. 706.8.1FBC-EXISTING BUILDING. SEC. 107.2.1.2 CITY
 AMENDMENTS.
 (LETTER SUBMITTED WAS REVIEWED WITH BUILDING OFFICIAL).

 REVEALED THE ROOF TO WALL CONNECTION IS USED FOR THE
 ROOF CONNECTION AT THIS PROPERTY HAVE A MINIMUM OF 4
 FASTERS PER STRAP AND COMPLY WITH 2020 FLORIDA BUILDING
 CODE 7TH EDITION, SECTION 706.8.1 FOR EXISTING
 BUILDINGS."
 THIS STATEMENT ONLY SPECIFIES 4 FASTENERS PER STRAP. IT
 DOESN'T SPECIFY FOUR FASTENERS ON EACH END OF THE STRAP
 AS REQUIRED BY SEC. 706.8.1FBC-EXISTING BUILDING.
 CLARIFY AS REQUIRED AND PROVIDE PHOTOS SHOWING THE
 CONNECTIONS.
