 OPENINGS. IF SMART VENTS ARE UTILIZED, PROVIDE FLORIDA
 PRODUCT APPROVAL NUMBER AND MODEL OF VENT TO BE
 INSTALLED.
 NOTE: GARAGE IS 542 SF. THREE (3) 8X16 SMART VENTS ARE
 REQUIRED. INSTALL VENTS ON ADJACENT WALLS.

 FULLY ENCLOSED AREAS BELOW THE DESIGN FLOOD ELEVATION
 SHALL BE AT OR ABOVE GRADE ON ALL SIDES AND CONFORM TO
 THE FOLLOWING:
  
 1) IN FLOOD HAZARD AREAS NOT SUBJECT TO HIGH-VELOCITY
 WAVE ACTION, ENCLOSED AREAS SHALL HAVE FLOOD OPENINGS
 TO ALLOW FOR THE AUTOMATIC INFLOW AND OUTFLOW OF
 FLOODWATERS.
  
 OPTIONS:
  
 1A) PROVIDE ENGINEERED FLOOD VENTS. DESIGN PROFESSIONAL
 SIGNATURE AND SEAL REQUIRED.
  
 1B) PROVIDE PRODUCT APPROVALS FOR SMART VENTS. INCLUDE
 MODEL OF VENT TO BE INSTALLED.
  
 R322.2.2.1INSTALLATION OF OPENINGS.
 THE WALLS OF ENCLOSED AREAS SHALL HAVE OPENINGS
 INSTALLED SUCH THAT:
 1. 1.THERE SHALL BE NOT LESS THAN TWO OPENINGS ON
 DIFFERENT SIDES OF EACH ENCLOSED AREA; IF A BUILDING
 HAS MORE THAN ONE ENCLOSED AREA BELOW THE DESIGN FLOOD
 ELEVATION, EACH AREA SHALL HAVE OPENINGS.
 2. 2.THE BOTTOM OF EACH OPENING SHALL BE NOT MORE THAN
 1 FOOT (305 MM) ABOVE THE HIGHER OF THE FINAL INTERIOR
 GRADE OR FLOOR AND THE FINISHED EXTERIOR GRADE
 IMMEDIATELY UNDER EACH OPENING.
 3. 3.OPENINGS SHALL BE PERMITTED TO BE INSTALLED IN
 DOORS AND WINDOWS; DOORS AND WINDOWS WITHOUT INSTALLED
 OPENINGS DO NOT MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF THIS SECTION.

 THE IRC AND IBC (BY REFERENCE TO ASCE 24) REQUIRE FLOOD
 OPENINGS ?ON DIFFERENT SIDES OF EACH ENCLOSED AREA?
 (IRC R322.2.2.1) AND ?IN AT LEAST TWO WALLS OF EACH
 ENCLOSED AREA? (ASCE 24, SECTION 2.7.3).
  
 PLEASE NOTE THAT SUBMITTAL OF ADDITIONAL AND/OR REVISED
 MATERIALS MAY RESULT IN NEW PLAN REVIEW COMMENTS.
  
 WHEN RESUBMITING, IT IS HELPFUL TO PROVIDE A RESPONSE
 LETTER ADDRESSING EACH ITEM ALONG WITH THE CITY
