 1A) FLOOR SOUND CONTROL HAS A SPEC THAT DUPLICATES THE
 CODE REQUIREMENTS FOR FLOOR UNDERLAYMENT?S IN THE 2020
 FBC-B.
 THE CODE REQUIRES PROOF OF PRODUCT TESTING NOT JUST THE
 REQUIREMENT. 2020 WEST PALM BEACH AMENDMENTS TO THE
 FLORIDA BUILDING CODE, CHAPTER 1, ADMINISTRATION
 107.2.1. W.P.B. ADMINISTRATIVE CODE/2020 DRAWINGS &
 SPECIFICATIONS SHALL CONTAIN INFORMATION, IN THE FORM
 OF NOTES OR OTHERWISE, AS TO THE QUALITY OF MATERIALS,
 WHERE QUALITY IS ESSENTIAL TO CONFORMITY WITH THE
 TECHNICAL CODES. SUCH INFORMATION SHALL BE SPECIFIC TO
 THE TECHNICAL CODES "CODE SECTIONS SHALL NOT BE CITED
 AS A WHOLE OR IN PART, NOR THE TERM "LEGAL" OR ITS
 EQUIVALENT BE USED AS A SUBSTITUTE FOR SPECIFIC
 INFORMATION". CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS SHALL BE
 SUFFICIENT CLARITY TO INDICATE THE LOCATION, NATURE AND
 EXTENT OF THE WORK PROPOSED AND SHOW IN DETAIL THAT IT
 WILL CONFORM TO THE PROVISIONS OF THIS CODE AND
 RELEVANT LAWS, ORDINANCES, RULES AND REGULATIONS, AS
 DETERMINED BY THE BUILDING OFFICIAL.
  
 FLOOR INSULATION (FBC-B 2020) FOR TILE, STONE, MARBLE,
 VINYL AND WOOD FLOORING ALL NEED TO HAVE HAD THE SOUND
 UNDERLAYMENT TESTED FLOOR ASSEMBLIES TO THE FOLLOWING
 STANDARDS AND MEET THE QUALIFICATIONS LISTED UNDER EACH
 OF THE STANDARDS FOR A 6 INCH CONCRETE FLOOR ASSEMBLY/
 NO DROPPED CEILING:
 PLEASE PROVIDE ALL THREE (3) TEST REPORTS FOR TYPE I
 AND OR TYPE II BUILDINGS SHOWING COMPLIANCE WITH:
  
 1A)(1) FBC-B 2020 1207.3 STRUCTURE-BORNE SOUND.
 FLOOR/CEILING ASSEMBLIES BETWEEN DWELLING UNITS OR
 BETWEEN A DWELLING UNIT AND A PUBLIC OR SERVICE AREA
 WITHIN THE STRUCTURE SHALL HAVE AN IMPACT INSULATION
 CLASS (IIC) RATING OF NOT LESS THAN 50 (45 IF FIELD
 TESTED) WHEN TESTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH ASTM E-492.
  
 1A)(2) FBC-B 2020 1207.2 AIR-BORNE SOUND. WALLS,
 PARTITIONS AND FLOOR/CEILING ASSEMBLIES SEPARATING

 SERVICE AREAS SHALL HAVE A SOUND TRANSMISSION CLASS
 (STC) OF NOT LESS THAN 50 (45 IF FIELD TESTED) FOR
 AIR-BORNE NOISE WHEN TESTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH ASTM E

 1A)(3) FLAME SPREAD- FBC-B 2020 603.1. EXCEPTION 2.
 INSULATION INSTALLED BETWEEN A FINISHED FLOOR AND SOLID
 DECKING WITHOUT INTERVENING AIRSPACE SHALL BE ALLOWED
 TO HAVE A FLAME SPREAD INDEX OF NOT MORE THAN 200.
  
 FLAME SPREAD INDEX. A COMPARATIVE MEASURE, EXPRESSED AS
 A DIMENSIONLESS NUMBER, DERIVED FROM VISUAL
 MEASUREMENTS OF THE SPREAD OF FLAME VERSUS TIME FOR A
 MATERIAL TESTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH ASTM E 84 OR UL 723.

 1B) NOTE UPDATED 3/25/2021. NOTES FOR THE ELEVATOR
 LOBBY THE REPLACEMENT OF DOOR 101-A FRONT ENTRY DOOR
 AND THE SIDE ENTRY DOOR 101-B. THIS BUILDING IS A
 HIGHRISE AND
 EACH FLOOR HAS ELEVATOR LOBBIES. THE PLAN IS SILENT AS
 TO WHICH WAY THE ELEVATOR HOISTWAY OPENING PROTECTION
 REQUIRED DOORS ARE PROTECTED, REQUIRED SINCE THIS
 BUILDING IS A HIGHRISE.2020 FBC-B 3006.2. IN SECTION
 3006.3 HOISTWAY PROTECTION THERE ARE 4 DIFFERENT WAYS
 OF PROTECTING THE HOISTWAY OPENING. THE MOST COMMON IN
 OLDER BUILDINGS ARE WITH AN ENCLOSED ELEVATOR LOBBY AND
 FIRE RATED DOORS(FIRE PARTITION & 1/3RD HR. DOORS), THE
 OTHER WAY WE SEE IS TO PRESSURIIZE THE ELEVATOR
 HOISTWAY TO KEEP SMOKE FROM EVER GETTING INTO THE
 ELEVATOR HOISTWAY. THERE IS NO DOOR SCHEDULE TO
 INDICATE IF THE DOORS 101-A AND 101-B ARE TO BE 1/3RD
 HR./ 20 MINUTE DOORS IF NO OTHER METHOD OF HOIST WAY
 OPENING PROTECTION IS USED.
  
 2) SHEET A-300 TYPICAL LIGHT COVE AND DROPPED CEILING
 DETAIL. THE DETAIL SHOWS 1 5/8 INCH 20 GA. CHANNELS
 ATTACHED TO DECK ABOVE. THE PLANS DO NOT PROVIDE THE
 TYPE OF ANCHOR, LENGTH OF ANCHOR, SPACING OF ANCHOR NOR
 DOES THE PLANS INDICATE THE CENTER TO CENTER
 MEASUREMENT SPACING FOR THE VERTICAL FRAMING MEMBERS.
 2020 FBC-B SECTION 2508.1 AND TABLE 2508.1 STEEL
 FRAMING FOR GYPSUM BOARD ASTM C754.
