 2020 EXISTING BUILDING CODE. 801.3 COMPLIANCE. ALL NEW
 CONSTRUCTION ELEMENTS, COMPONENTS, SYSTEMS, AND SPACES
 SHALL COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE FLORIDA
 BUILDING CODE, BUILDING.

 1) SHEET A-1 NEW 1ST FLOOR PLAN:
  
 1A) UNDER THE HEADING OF COMPLIANCE W/ FBC 2020 7TH
 EDITION THE NEW CONSTRUCTION TYPE IS LISTED AS VB.
 EXISTING CONSTRUCTION LISTED AS IV PROTECTED (AUTOMATIC
 SPRINKLER SYSTEM). IN THE 2020 FBC-B TYPE IV THERE IS
 NO A OR B. TYPE IV IS HEAVY TIMBER. IN ALL OTHER
 CONSTRUCTION TYPE, A- MEANS AT LEAST 1-HOUR FIRE
 PROTECTION. B USUALLY MEANS NOT PROTECTED EXCEPT FOR
 TYPE I-B WHERE ALL STRUCTURAL COMPONENTS ARE 2 HOURS
 RATED EXCEPT FOR THE ROOF CONSTRUCTION AND ASS.
 SECONDARY FRAMING MEMBERS.
  
 1B) UNDER THE SCOPE OF WORK 1. BUILDING IT STATES THE
 ALTERATION LEVEL IS A LEVEL 2 BUT ALSO STATES TO ADD
 NEW STEEL BAR JOIST. THIS IS CREATING A VERTICAL
 ADDITION, A SECTION OF THE 2ND STORY, AN ADDITION, NEW
 FLOOR AREA. 107.2.1.2. PLEASE REVIEW IN THE 2020
 FBC-EXISTING BUILDING CODE 1103.3.1 VERTICAL ADDITIONS,
 AND 1101.2 CREATION OR EXTENSION OF NONCONFORMITY.
  
 2) SHEETS A-1 & S-1. WITH THE NEW PARTIAL 2ND FLOOR
 EXPANSION THERE LEAVES AN AREA OPEN TO THE 2ND STORY,
 THIS IS ONLY ALLOWED WHEN IT IS A MEZZANINE. THE AREA
 IN QUESTION IS OVER 1/3RD OF THE FLOOR AREA THAT WAS
 OPEN AREA. THE COVERSHEET INDICATES THAT THIS BUILDING
 IS FIRE SPRINKLERED. THE OPEN AREA THAT IS NOW A OPEN 2
 STORY AREA WILL NOW NEED TO MEET THE REQUIREMENTS FOR A
 ATRIUM. SEE SECTION 404.6 ENCLOSURES OF ATRIUMS AND
 EXCEPTIONS.
  
 3) SHEET S-1. PLEASE SHOW COMPLIANCE WITH: WELDED OR
 BOLTED CONNECTIONS. THE CONTRACTOR IS REQUIRED TO
 PROVIDE WELD PROCEDURE SPECIFICATIONS & WELDER OPERATOR
 PERFORMANCE QUALIFICATION RECORDS IN ACCORDANCE WITH
 THE REFERENCED STANDARDS AT TIME OF INSPECTION FOR
 FIELD WIELDING, ON THE JOB-SITE WIELDING. THIRD PARTY
 CERTIFICATION WILL BE REQUIRED. REPORTS SUBMITTED TO
 BUILDING INSPECTOR AT TIME OF FRAMING INSPECTION.

 4A) THE SHEET A-1 GIVE A PARTIAL OF WIND DESIGN
 CRITERIA, MISSING THE MEAN ROOF HEIGHT, SHEET S-1 GIVES
 DESIGN WIND PRESSURES FOR WINDOW AND DOORS, WORST CASE
 SCENARIO. WITH THE MISSING MEAN ROOF HEIGHT, WE DO NOT
 KNOW WHAT MULTIPLIERS WERE USED IN DERIVING THE
 PRESSURES. 2020 FBC-B TABLE 1609.7.2/ ASCE 7-16 TABLE
 30.3.1.
  
 4B) SINCE THE WIND DESIGN ON THE SHEET A-1 WAS GIVEN IN
 VULT (170 MPH VULT) CAN IT BE ASSUMED THE PRESSURES
 LISTED ON S-1 WOULD ALSO BE IN VULT IF SO, THEY ARE
 LOW. IF THEY ARE IN VASD THEN PLEASE NOTE AND PROVIDE
 THE MEAN ROOF HEIGHT. THANK YOU.

 FL 61G1-23.015 (2) THE ARCHITECT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR
 SUPERVISING AND REVIEWING ALL PROJECT DATA, REPORTS,
 SHOP DRAWINGS ETC.
  
 5C) 107.3.4.2 DEFERRED SUBMITTALS. FOR THE PURPOSES OF
 THIS SECTION, DEFERRED SUBMITTALS ARE DEFINED AS THOSE
 PORTIONS OF THE DESIGN THAT ARE NOT SUBMITTED AT THE
 TIME OF THE APPLICATION AND THAT ARE TO BE SUBMITTED TO
 THE BUILDING OFFICIAL WITHIN A SPECIFIED PERIOD.
 DEFERRAL OF ANY SUBMITTAL ITEMS SHALL HAVE THE PRIOR
 APPROVAL OF THE BUILDING OFFICIAL. THE REGISTERED
 DESIGN PROFESSIONAL IN RESPONSIBLE CHARGE SHALL LIST
 THE DEFERRED SUBMITTALS ON THE CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS
 FOR REVIEW BY THE BUILDING OFFICIAL.
  
 DOCUMENTS FOR DEFERRED SUBMITTAL ITEMS SHALL BE
 SUBMITTED TO THE REGISTERED DESIGN PROFESSIONAL IN
 RESPONSIBLE CHARGE WHO SHALL REVIEW THEM AND FORWARD
 THEM TO THE BUILDING OFFICIAL WITH A NOTATION
 INDICATING THAT THE DEFERRED SUBMITTAL DOCUMENTS HAVE
 BEEN REVIEWED AND FOUND TO BE IN GENERAL CONFORMANCE TO
 THE DESIGN OF THE BUILDING. THE DEFERRED SUBMITTAL
 ITEMS SHALL NOT BE INSTALLED UNTIL THE DEFERRED
 SUBMITTAL DOCUMENTS HAVE BEEN APPROVED BY THE BUILDING
 OFFICIAL.
  
 5D) IDENTIFY GLAZING/ MULLIONS. PLEASE IDENTIFY ON THE
 PRODUCT APPROVAL BEFORE SUBMITTING TO DESIGNER OF
 RECORD AND BEFORE SUBMISSION TO THE BUILDING
 DEPARTMENT. FOR ALL PRODUCTS WITH GLAZING, PLEASE
 IDENTIFY THE OPENING WIDTH & HEIGHT, TYPE OF GLAZING,
 MULLION SIZE, LENGTH IF UNREINFORCED OR REINFORCED
 INFORMATION IF REQUIRED, ATTACHMENTS AND ASSOCIATE
 PRESSURES FOR EACH OPENING SIZE. 2020 FBC-B 1405.13.1
 INSTALLATION. WINDOWS AND DOORS SHALL BE INSTALLED IN
 ACCORDANCE WITH APPROVED MANUFACTURER?S INSTRUCTIONS.
 FASTENER SIZE AND SPACING SHALL BE PROVIDED IN SUCH
 INSTRUCTIONS AND SHALL BE CALCULATED BASED ON MAXIMUM
 LOADS AND SPACING USED IN THE TESTS.
  
 6) SHEET A-1. THE ORIGINAL DESIGN OF THIS BUILDING WAS
 WHEN IT WAS BUILT A SINGLE TENANT BUILDING WITH (AT THE
 TIME IT WAS BUILT EITHER A MEZZANINE OR 2N D FLOOR).
 THE ISSUE AT HAND WITH THE BUILDING BEING SPLIT UP, AND
 WITH ADDING ADDITIONAL SQUARE FOOTAGE TO THE SECOND
 FLOOR THE MEANS OF EGRESS TO AND FROM THE 2ND FLOOR AND
 COMPLIANCE WITH:
 2020 FBC-B SECTION 1016.2(2)
 ALSO SECTION 1016.2(3)
  
 7) THE PLANS WILL NEED TO BE REVIEWED BY PALM BEACH
 COUNTY IMPACT FEE FOR THE INCREASE IN FLOOR AREA.
  
 8) A TRANSMITTAL LETTER LISTING THE ORIGINAL REVIEW
 COMMENT NUMBER, WITH A DESCRIPTION OF THE REVISION
 MADE, IDENTIFYING THE SHEET OR SPECIFICATION PAGE WHERE
 THE CHANGES CAN BE FOUND WILL HELP TO EXPEDITE YOUR
