 2017 EXISTING BUILDING CODE. 801.3 COMPLIANCE. ALL NEW
 CONSTRUCTION ELEMENTS, COMPONENTS, SYSTEMS, AND SPACES
 SHALL COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE FLORIDA
 BUILDING CODE, BUILDING.

 1) THE LIFE SAFETY SHEET:
 1A) UNDER THE HEADING CODE DATA THE CONSTRUCTION TYPE
 IS LISTED AS TYPE IB. WITH THAT CONSTRUCTION TYPE IN
 THE 2017 FBC-B TABLE 601 REQUIRES THE EXTERIOR WALLS TO
 BE 2 HR. FIRE RATED AND THE ROOF CONSTRUCTION AND
 ASSOCIATES SECONDARY MEMBERS AND DECK TO BE 1-HOUR FIRE
 RATED, HOW IS THIS ACCOMPLISHED? SHEET A5.01 DETAIL 5
 SHOWS WOOD TRUSSES AND SHEATHING. DID YOU MEAN
 CONSTRUCTION TYPE III-B?
 1B) THE PROPOSED OCCUPANCY LOAD GIVES THE OCCUPANT LOAD
 FACTORS OF 60 FOR MERCANTILE AND 300 FOR STORAGE BUT
 THE PLANS ARE SILENT TO THE OVERALL ALL SQUARE FOOTAGE
 OF THE BUILDING AND THE SQ. FT. FOR THE MERCANTILE AND
 S1 OCCUPANCY. PLEASE PROVIDE THE MISSING INFORMATION TO
 BE ABLE TO DETERMINE THE OCCUPANT LOAD FOR THE
 MIXED-USE BUILDING. FBC-B TABLE 1004.1.2.
 1C)(1) THE 2017 FBC-B TABLE 508.4 SHOWS NO REQUIREMENT
 FOR OCCUPANCY SEPARATION BETWEEN MERCANTILE AND S1
 OCCUPANCY TYPES. PLEASE NOTE THE FIRE DEPARTMENT
 REQUIREMENTS WHICH APPEAR TO BE MORE RESTRICTIVE. WHEN
 THE 2 CODES DO NOT AGREE THE MOST RESTRICTIVE OF THE
 CODES IS REQUIRED TO BE FOLLOWED.
 1C)(2) I BELIEVE THIS IS A FISH MARKET AND THE BACK
 HALF OF THE BUILDING IS A FISH PROCESSING PORTION( SEE
 306.2 F-1 FOOD PROCESSING ESTABLISHMENTS NOT PART OF A
 RESTAURANT) OF THE BUILDING. WITH THIS BEING SAID,
 TABLE 508.4 STILL DOES NOT SHOW A REQUIRED OCCUPANCY
 SEPARATION.
 1D)(1) DEPENDING ON THE OUTCOME OF THE OCCUPANCY TYPE
 FOR THE REAR PORTION OF THE BUILDING IF THE REAR
 PORTION IS DECLARED STORAGE PLEASE REVIEW THE
 REQUIREMENTS FOR EGRESS THROUGH INTERVENING SPACES FOR
 A MERCANTILE OCCUPANCY AND REAR STORAGE ROOM. SEE 2017
 FBC-B 1016.25( 2.1-2.4).
 1D)(1) THE OTHER REAR OCCUPANCY IF DECLARED A F1
 OCCUPANCY BECAUSE OF THE SINKS AND FOOD PREPARATION, NO
 RATED WALLS BETWEEN OCCUPANCY TYPE A VESTIBULE BEING
 BUILT TO GO OUT THE SIDE EXIT, THAT COULD BE USED FROM
 EITHER OCCUPANCY TYPE.
 1E) THE OTHER ISSUE WITH EXITING IS THE EXIT SIGNS
 WITHIN HALLWAY 101. THEY APPEAR TO BE ON THE WRONG SIDE
 OF THE DOOR (IN THE MERCANTILE & F1/ S1 SIDE OF THE
 DOOR AS A AN DIRECTIONAL SIGN) AND THERE SHOULD BE AN
 EXIT SIGN AT THE TRUE EXIT TO THE EXTERIOR. 2017 FBC-B
 1013.1 WHERE REQUIRED.
 2) SHEET A2.01 THE EXTERIOR ELEVATION SHEET SHOWS NEW
 EXTERIOR WINDOWS AND DOORS. NO ARCHITECTURAL SHEET
 PROVIDES THE WIND DESIGN CRITERIA? PLEASE PROVIDE
 COMPLIANCE WITH THE 2017 FBC-B 1603.1.4 WIND DESIGN
 DATA. THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION RELATED TO WIND LOADS
 SHALL BE SHOWN, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER WIND LOADS GOVERN
 THE DESIGN OF THE LATERAL FORCE-RESISTING SYSTEM OF THE
 STRUCTURE:
  
 2.1. ULTIMATE DESIGN WIND SPEED, VULT, (3-SECOND GUST),
 MILES PER HOUR AND NOMINAL DESIGN WIND SPEED, VASD, AS
 DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 1609.3.1.
  
 2.2. RISK CATEGORY.
  
 2.3. WIND EXPOSURE. APPLICABLE WIND DIRECTION IF MORE
 THAN ONE WIND EXPOSURE IS UTILIZED. TABLE 1609.7.2.

 2.6. TABLE 1609.7(2) ADJUSTMENT FACTORS FOR HEIGHT &
 EXPOSURE. PROVIDE THE MEAN ROOF HEIGHT FOR THE
 BUILDING. ASCE 7-10 TABLE 30.3.1. 1609.3.1 WIND SPEED
 CONVERSION VULT TO VASD.
  
 3) THE LIFE SAFETY SHEET INDICATES A REQUEST FOR
 DEFERRED SUBMITTALS FOR EXTERIOR DOORS SHEET A2.0 NOTE
 3 INDICATES NEW PROPOSED WINDOWS. ADD TO DEFERRED
 SUBMITTAL SCHEDULE OR SUBMIT PRODUCT APPROVALS.
  
 4) SHEET A4.0 THE ENLARGED INTERIOR PLANS:
 4A) THE DETAIL # 1 IS MISSING THE REQUIRED DIMENSIONS
 FROM FINISH FLOOR FOR THE MIRROR. PLEASE SHOW
 COMPLIANCE WITH THE 2017 FBC-ACCESSIBILITY CODE SECTION
 603.3 MIRRORS. MIRRORS LOCATED ABOVE LAVATORIES OR
 COUNTERTOPS SHALL BE INSTALLED WITH THE BOTTOM EDGE OF
 THE REFLECTING SURFACE 40 INCHES MAXIMUM ABOVE THE
 FINISH FLOOR OR GROUND.
  
 4B) THE DETAIL # 1 DOES NOT SHOW COMPLIANCE WITH
 SECTION 606.2 CLEAR FLOOR SPACE. A CLEAR FLOOR SPACE
 COMPLYING WITH 305, POSITIONED FOR A FORWARD APPROACH,
 AND KNEE AND TOE CLEARANCE COMPLYING WITH 306 SHALL BE
 PROVIDED, SEE EXCEPTIONS ALSO, BUT SHOW THE REQUIRED
 CLEAR FLOOR SPACE ON THE FLOOR PLAN AND 606.5 EXPOSED
 PIPES AND SURFACES. WATER SUPPLY & DRAINPIPES UNDER
 LAVATORIES AND SINKS SHALL BE INSULATED OR OTHERWISE
 CONFIGURED TO PROTECT AGAINST CONTACT.
  
 4C) THE DETAIL C FOR DRINKING FOUNTAINS DOES NOT SHOW
 COMPLIANCE WITH, PROTRUDING OBJECTS 307.2 PROTRUSION
 LIMITS 307.2. OBJECTS WITH LEADING EDGES MORE THAN 27
 INCHES AND NOT MORE THAN 80 INCHES ABOVE THE FLOOR
 SHALL NOT PROTRUDE MORE THAN 4 INCHES HORIZONTALLY INTO
 THE CIRCULATION PATH.
  
 5) THE PLANS DID NOT HAVE A FINISH SCHEDULE FOR THE
 INTERIOR OF THE BUILDING. 2017 FBC-B 1210.2.2. WALLS &
 PARTITIONS. THIS COMMENT IS A RESULT OF THE BUILDING
 OFFICIAL INTERPRETATION ON 06/2020. IN RESTROOMS &
 SERVICE SINK AREAS EPOXY PAINT IS NO LONGER CONSIDERED
 A SMOOTH HARD, NON-ABSORBENT SURFACE.
  
 5A) 1210.2.2 WALLS & PARTITIONS WITHIN 2 FEET OF
 SERVICE SINKS, URINALS, AND WATER CLOSETS SHALL HAVE A
 SMOOTH, HARD, NON-ABSORBENT SURFACE TO A HEIGHT OF NOT
 LESS THAN 4 FEET ABOVE THE FLOOR, EXCEPT FOR STRUCTURAL
 ELEMENTS, THE MATERIAL USED IN SUCH WALLS SHALL BE OF A
 TYPE THAT IS NOT ADVERSELY AFFECTED BY MOISTURE.
  
 5B) 2509.1. WET AREAS. SHOWERS AND PUBLIC TOILET WALLS
 SHALL COMPLY WITH 1210.2.
  
 5C) 1210.2. FINISH MATERIALS. WALLS, BASE, FLOORS AND
 PARTITIONS IN TOILET AND BATHROOMS SHALL COMPLY WITH
 SECTIONS 1210.1 THROUGH 1210.4.
  
 6) A TRANSMITTAL LETTER LISTING THE ORIGINAL REVIEW
 COMMENT NUMBER, WITH A DESCRIPTION OF THE REVISION
 MADE, IDENTIFYING THE SHEET OR SPECIFICATION PAGE WHERE
