| | 1) THE PLANS SHOW A BATHTUB TO SHOWER CONVERSION IN THE |
| | MASTER BATHROOM- COMPLIANCE WITH THE FAIR HOUSING |
| | ACCESSIBILITY GUIDELINES IS REQUIRED. BECAUSE THE |
| | BUILDING WAS CONSTRUCTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE |
| | ACCESSIBILITY REQUIREMENTS OF THE FAIR HOUSING ACT AND |
| | THE DESIGN GUIDELINES FOR USABLE BATHROOMS IN DWELLING |
| | UNITS, THE ALTERATIONS THAT ARE PROPOSED IN THE |
| | BATHROOMS SHALL ALSO BE IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE FAIR |
| | HOUSING ACT. THE FAIR HOUSING ACCESSIBILITY GUIDELINES |
| | ARE INCLUDED IN THE FLORIDA ACCESSIBILITY CODE- 2017 |
| | SIXTH EDITION. COMPLIANCE WITH THE GUIDELINES REQUIRES |
| | THAT CLEAR FLOOR SPACES FOR WHEELCHAIR APPROACHES TO |
| | BATH FIXTURES SHALL EITHER BE MAINTAINED AS ORIGINALLY |
| | DESIGNED OR PROVIDED WHERE NEW FIXTURES ARE BEING |
| | INSTALLED. |

| | BASED ON THE DRAWINGS IT APPEARS SPECIFICATION A WAS |
| | CHOSEN AS THE ORIGINAL DESIGN- REFER TO EXAMPLE A |
| | BATHROOM ON PAGE 7.36 OF THE MANUAL. THE EXAMPLE |
| | DRAWING SHOWS A 30X48 INCH CLEAR FLOOR SPACE FORWARD |
| | APPROACH TO THE BATHTUB, HOWEVER THE NEW SHOWER IS |
| | REQUIRED TO HAVE A 30X48 INCH PARALLEL APPROACH |
| | POSITIONED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FIGURES SHOWN ON |
| | PAGES 7.56- 7.59. THE DESIGNER OF RECORD SHALL PROVIDE |
| | ENLARGED DIMENSIONED DRAWINGS OF THE BATHROOM WITH |
| | CLEAR FLOOR SPACE DIAGRAMS CONFIGURED FOR THE NEW |
| | SHOWER AND THE REPLACED TOILET AND VANITY. PLEASE NOTE |
| | THAT WHEN THE SHOWER IS THE ONLY BATHING FIXTURE IN THE |
| | RESIDENCE IT SHALL BE AT LEAST 36X36 INCHES IN SIZE- |
| | PAGE 7.58. IT IS ALSO IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT THE |
| | EXISTING TOILET MAY HAVE TO BE RELOCATED IF IT |
| | ENCROACHES ON THE REQUIRED 30X48 INCH CLEAR FLOOR SPACE |
| | FOR THE SHOWER. SHOWER GRAB BAR REINFORCEMENTS ARE ALSO |
| | REQUIRED. THE DESIGNER SHALL REFER TO REFER TO THE |
| | FIGURES IN CHAPTER 6 OF THE MANUAL AND PROVIDE GRAB BAR |
| | REINFORCEMENT DETAILS SHOWING THE LOCATIONS, HEIGHTS, |
| | LENGTHS ETC. THE REINFORCEMENT DETAILS ARE ALSO SHOWN |
| | IN THE FLORIDA ACCESSIBILITY CODE FAIR HOUSING |
| | GUIEDLINES. PLEASE SEE REQUIREMENT 7 AND FIGURE 5. |

| | 1A) AS AN ALTERNATIVE TO MEETING THE GUIDELINES FOR THE |

| | AFFIDAVIT WHICH WOULD INDICATE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT THAT THE |
