| | 6.4.4.2.1 SMOKE DETECTORS USED SOLELY FOR CLOSING |
| | DAMPERS OR FOR HEATING, VENTILATING, AND |
| | AIR-CONDITIONING SYSTEM SHUTDOWN SHALL NOT BE REQUIRED |
| | TO ACTIVATE THE BUILDING EVACUATION ALARM. |

| | 6.4.4.3 WHERE SMOKE DETECTORS REQUIRED BY SECTION 6.4 |

| | (2) SMOKE DETECTOR TROUBLE CONDITIONS SHALL BE |
| | INDICATED VISUALLY OR AUDIBLY IN A NORMALLY OCCUPIED |
| | AREA AND SHALL BE IDENTIFIED AS AIR DUCT DETECTOR |
| | TROUBLE. |

| | 23.8.5.4.6 SIGNAL INITIATION ? DUCT SMOKE DETECTORS. |
| | 23.8.5.4.6.1 WHERE DUCT SMOKE DETECTORS ARE REQUIRED TO |
| | BE MONITORED AND A BUILDING FIRE ALARM SYSTEM IS |
| | INSTALLED, A DUCT DETECTOR ACTIVATION SIGNAL SHALL MEET |

| | CONSTANTLY ATTENDED LOCATION OR SUPERVISING STATION |
| | SHALL BE PERMITTED TO INITIATE AN ALARM SIGNAL. |
| | 21.7.4.2 SMOKE DETECTORS MOUNTED IN THE AIR DUCTS OF |
| | HVAC SYSTEMS SHALL BE PERMITTED TO INITIATE AN ALARM |
| | SIGNAL WHERE REQUIRED BY OTHER GOVERNING LAWS, CODES, |
| | OR STANDARDS. |
