 SHALL COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE FLORIDA
 BUILDING CODE, BUILDING.

 THE 2017 EXISTING BUILDING CODE. PLEASE REVIEW SECTION
 101.2 FOR SCOPING AND THE EXCEPTION FOR PUBLIC
 EDUCATIONAL FACILITIES AND STATE LICENSED FACILITIES,
 SEE CHAPTER 4, SPECIAL OCCUPANCY, OF THE FLORIDA
 BUILDING CODE, BUILDING.
 2017 FBC-B 467 HOSPICE INPATIENT FACILITES AND UNITS
 AND HOSPICE RESIDENCES
 427.2.2 CODES AND STANDARDS
 467.2.2.3. IN RENOVATIONS AND ADDITIONS TO EXISTING
 FACILITIES, ONLY THAT PORTION OF THE TOTAL FACILITY
 AFFECTED BY THE PROJECT MUST COMPLY WITH THE APPLICABLE
 SECTIONS OF THE CODES FOR NEW FACILITIES AND UNITS.
 PLEASE SHOW THE RESTROOMS IN EACH HOSPICE ROOM WILL

 2A) 2017 FBC-B 2509.2 BASE FOR TILE. MATERIALS USED AS
 A BASE FOR WALL TILE IN TUB AND SHOWER AREAS AND WALLS
 AND CEILING PANELS IN SHOWER AREAS SHALL BE OF
 MATERIALS LISTED IN TABLE 2509.2 AND INSTALLED IN
 ACCORDANCE WITH MANUFACTURER?S RECOMMENDATIONS. WATER

 COMPARTMENTS AND BATHTUBS WITH INSTALLED SHOWER HEADS
 SHALL BE FINISHED WITH A NONABSORBENT SURFACE TO A
 HEIGHT NOT LESS THAN 72 INCHES ABOVE THE DRAIN INLET.
  
 2C) 2017 FBC-B 1210.2.2. WALLS & PARTITIONS. THIS
 COMMENT IS A RESULT OF THE BUILDING OFFICIAL
 INTERPRETATION. IN RESTROOMS EPOXY PAINT IS NO LONGER
 CONSIDERED A SMOOTH HARD, NON-ABSORBENT SURFACE.
 WALLS & PARTITIONS WITHIN 2 FEET OF SERVICE SINKS,
 URINALS, AND WATER CLOSETS SHALL HAVE A SMOOTH, HARD,
 NON-ABSORBENT SURFACE TO A HEIGHT OF NOT LESS THAN 4
 FEET ABOVE THE FLOOR, EXCEPT FOR STRUCTURAL ELEMENTS,
 THE MATERIAL USED IN SUCH WALLS SHALL BE OF A TYPE THAT
 IS NOT ADVERSELY AFFECTED BY MOISTURE.
  
 3) SHEET DE-1 NOTES 9 & 19 BOTH REFER TO THE SLIDING
 GLASS DOORS BEING REMOVED. NOTE # 9 REFERS YOU TO SHEET
 A-3 FOR MORE INFORMATION. NO INFORMATION IS PROVIDED.
 SHEET A-1 DOES SHOW A PAIR OF EXTERIOR FRENCH STYLE
 SWING DOORS OPENING INTO THE COURTYARD. THERE IS NO
 INFORMATION IF THIS COURTYARD IS OPEN OR ENCLOSED. FOR
 THE PURPOSES OF THIS REVIEW IT WILL BE CONSIDERED OPEN
 AND FURTHER COMMENTS WILL APPEAR IN REGARD TO THE NEW
 EXTERIOR FRENCH DOORS.

 WHICH ARE REGULATED BY FLORIDA ADMINISTRATIVE CODE RULE
 61G20 SHALL BE REVIEWED AND APPROVED IN WRITING BY THE
 DESIGNER OF RECORD PRIOR TO SUBMITTAL FOR
 JURISDICTIONAL APPROVAL.
 FL 61G1-23.015 (2) THE ARCHITECT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR
 SUPERVISING AND REVIEWING ALL PROJECT DATA, REPORTS,
 SHOP DRAWINGS ETC..
  
 7) 107.3.4.2 DEFERRED SUBMITTALS. FOR THE PURPOSES OF
 THIS SECTION, DEFERRED SUBMITTALS ARE DEFINED AS THOSE
 PORTIONS OF THE DESIGN THAT ARE NOT SUBMITTED AT THE
 TIME OF THE APPLICATION AND THAT ARE TO BE SUBMITTED TO
 THE BUILDING OFFICIAL WITHIN A SPECIFIED PERIOD.
 DEFERRAL OF ANY SUBMITTAL ITEMS SHALL HAVE THE PRIOR
 APPROVAL OF THE BUILDING OFFICIAL. THE REGISTERED
 DESIGN PROFESSIONAL IN RESPONSIBLE CHARGE SHALL LIST
 THE DEFERRED SUBMITTALS ON THE CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS
 FOR REVIEW BY THE BUILDING OFFICIAL.
 DOCUMENTS FOR DEFERRED SUBMITTAL ITEMS SHALL BE
 SUBMITTED TO THE REGISTERED DESIGN PROFESSIONAL IN
 RESPONSIBLE CHARGE WHO SHALL REVIEW THEM AND FORWARD
 THEM TO THE BUILDING OFFICIAL WITH A NOTATION
 INDICATING THAT THE DEFERRED SUBMITTAL DOCUMENTS HAVE
 BEEN REVIEWED AND FOUND TO BE IN GENERAL CONFORMANCE TO
 THE DESIGN OF THE BUILDING. THE DEFERRED SUBMITTAL
 ITEMS SHALL NOT BE INSTALLED UNTIL THE DEFERRED
 SUBMITTAL DOCUMENTS HAVE BEEN APPROVED BY THE BUILDING
 OFFICIAL.
  
 8) IDENTIFY GLAZINGS. PLEASE IDENTIFY ON THE PRODUCT
 APPROVAL BEFORE SUBMITTING TO DESIGNER OF RECORD AND
 BEFORE SUBMISSION TO THE BUILDING DEPARTMENT. FOR ALL
 PRODUCTS WITH GLAZING, PLEASE IDENTIFY THE OPENING
 WIDTH & HEIGHT, TYPE OF GLAZING, MULLION SIZE, LENGTH
 IF UNREINFORCED OR REINFORCED INFORMATION IF REQUIRED,
 ATTACHMENTS AND ASSOCIATE PRESSURES FOR EACH OPENING
 SIZE. 2017 FBC-B 1405.13.1 INSTALLATION. WINDOWS AND
 DOORS SHALL BE INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH APPROVED
 MANUFACTURER?S INSTRUCTIONS. FASTENER SIZE AND SPACING
 SHALL BE PROVIDED IN SUCH INSTRUCTIONS AND SHALL BE
 CALCULATED BASED ON MAXIMUM LOADS AND SPACING USED IN
 THE TESTS.
  
 9) THRESHOLDS ACCESS. CODE 404.2.5. THRESHOLDS, IF
 PROVIDED AT DOORWAYS, SHALL BE 1/2 INCH (13 MM) HIGH
 MAXIMUM. RAISED THRESHOLDS AND CHANGES IN LEVEL AT
 DOORWAYS SHALL COMPLY WITH 302 AND 303.
  
 10) HABITAL SPACES/ 1710.5.1.1FBC-B EXTERIOR WINDOWS
 AND DOORS. (EXCEPTION) 2. DOOR ASSEMBLIES INSTALLED
 WHERE THE OVERHANG (OH) RATIO IS EQUAL TO OR MORE THAN
 1 NEED NOT BE TESTED FOR WATER INFILTRATION. THE
 OVERHANG RATIO SHALL BE CALCULATED BY THE FOLLOWING
 EQUATION:
 OH RATIO = OH LENGTH/OH HEIGHT
 WHERE:
 OH LENGTH = THE HORIZONTAL MEASURE OF HOW FAR AN
 OVERHANG OVER A DOOR PROJECTS OUT FROM DOOR SURFACE.
 OH HEIGHT = THE VERTICAL MEASURE OF THE DISTANCE FROM
 THE DOOR SILL TO THE BOTTOM OF THE OVERHANG OVER A
 DOOR.
