 ACCORDING TO NFPA 96:
  
 12.1.2.3.1 AN APPROVED METHOD SHALL BE PROVIDED THAT
 WILL
 ENSURE THAT THE APPLIANCE IS RETURNED TO AN APPROVED
 DESIGN
 LOCATION.
 12.1.2.4 ALL DEEP-FAT FRYERS SHALL BE INSTALLED WITH AT
 LEAST A
 406 MM (16 IN.) SPACE BETWEEN THE FRYER AND SURFACE
 FLAMES
 FROM ADJACENT COOKING EQUIPMENT.
  
 ACCORDING TO NFPA 17A:
  
 4.4.4.1 ON ACTUATION OF ANY COOKING EQUIPMENT
 FIREEXTINGUISHING
 SYSTEM, ALL SOURCES OF FUEL AND ELECTRIC POWER
 THAT PRODUCE HEAT TO ALL EQUIPMENT PROTECTED BY THE
 SYSTEM
 SHALL BE SHUT DOWN.
  
 4.4.4.2 GAS APPLIANCES NOT REQUIRING PROTECTION BUT
 LOCATED
 UNDER THE SAME VENTILATION EQUIPMENT SHALL ALSO BE SHUT
