 2017 EXISTING BUILDING CODE. 801.3 COMPLIANCE. ALL NEW
 CONSTRUCTION ELEMENTS, COMPONENTS, SYSTEMS, AND SPACES
 SHALL COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE FLORIDA
 BUILDING CODE, BUILDING.

 1) PLEASE BE AWARE WHEN THERE ARE IMPROVEMENTS BEING
 MADE TO THE BUILDING AND OR PARKING LOT AND THE
 EXISTING ACCESSIBLE ELEMENTS ARE NOT UP TO CODE THE
 2017 EXISTING BUILDING CODE REFERS YOU BACK TO THE 2017
 FBC-ACCESSIBILITY CODE THE SECTION DISPROPORTIONATE
 COST WHICH WOULD ALLOW UP TO 20% OF THE CONTRACT VALUE
 OVER AND ABOVE THE CONTRACT VALUE TO BE SPENT IN
 ACCESSIBLE UPGRADES. IN THIS CASE PERMITTED VALUE
 $55,000 X 0.20%= 411,000.00 DOLLARS IN ACCESSIBLE
 UPGRADES.
  
 1A) DISPROPORTIONATE COST 202.4.1. PLEASE REVIEW HOW
 YOU ARE TO MEET DISPROPORTIONATE COST. EITHER THE
 CONTRACTOR OR THE DESIGNER OF RECORD ON THEIR
 LETTERHEAD NEED TO SHOW HOW THEY ARE GOING TO SPEND THE
 20% DISPROPORTIONATE FUNDS LISTED FOR EACH ELEMENT
 WHERE THE FUNDS ARE BEING SPENT AND IN THE ORDER LISTED
 IN SECTION 202.4.1 DISPROPORTIONATE COST OF THE 2017
 ACCESSIBILITY CODE. SECTION 202.4.2 EVENT OF
 DISPROPORTIONALITY LIST PARKING LOTS AFTER ALL INTERIOR
 ELEMENTS ARE UPDATED. SINCE THE WORK CONCERNED WITH
 THIS PERMIT THE PARKING LOT, ACCESS AISLES AND
 SIDEWALKS WOULD NEED TO BE BROUGHT INTO COMPLIANCE.
  
 1B) THE SURVEY AND SHEET C-100 BOTH SHOW BETWEEN THE 2
 ACCESSIBLE PARKING SPOTS A RAMP IN THE ACCESS AISLE AND
 HANDRAILS. SHEET C-101 THE IMPROVEMENT SHEET DOES NOT
 SHOW THE ACCESS AISLE (RAMP) BEING REMOVED AND ACCESS
 AISLE LEVEL WITH THE ACCESSIBLE PARKING SPOTS. THE
 SIDEWALK SHOULD HAVE A DROPPED LEVEL CURB SECTION.
  
 1C) 2017 FBC-ACCESS. CODE ACCESSIBLE PARKING SPACES.
 208.3. LOCATION. PARKING SPACES COMPLYING WITH 502THAT
 SERVE A PARTICULAR BUILDING OR FACILITY SHALL BE
 LOCATED ON THE SHORTEST ACCESSIBLE ROUTE FROM PARKING
 TO AN ENTRANCE COMPLYING WITH 206.4.
  
 1D) 2017 FBC-ACC. CODE 502.4 ACCESS AISLE & PARKING
 SPACE SAME LEVEL/ 502.4, FLOOR AND GROUND SURFACES.
 PARKING SPACES AND THE ACCESS AISLES SERVING THEM SHALL
 COMPLY WITH 302. ACCESS AISLES SHALL BE AT THE SAME
 LEVEL AS THE PARKING SPACES THEY SERVE.
 CHANGES IN LEVEL ARE NOT PERMITTED. EXCEPTION: SLOPES
 NOT GREATER THAN 1:48 SHALL BE PERMITTED.
  
 1E) THE PLANS AND DETAIL SHEET HAD NO DETAILS FOR
 PARKING SPACE STRIPPING SEE WEST PALM BEACH MUNI CODE
 REQUIREMENTS. ACCESSIBLE PARKING SPACE / STALL
 PAINTING.
 2017 ACCESSIBILITY CODE SECTION 502.2 VEHICLE SPACES.
 EACH PARKING SPACE MUST BE AT LEAST 12 FEET WIDE, SHALL
 BE MARKED TO DEFINE THE WIDTH, AND SHALL HAVE AN
 ADJACENT ACCESS AISLE COMPLYING WITH 502.3.
 ADVISORY 502.3.3MARKING THE METHOD AND MARKING OF COLOR
 OF MARKING ARE NOT SPECIFIED BY THESE REQUIREMENTS BUT
 MAY BE ADDRESSED BY STATE OR LOCAL LAWS OR REGULATIONS.
