 AMENDMENTS TO THE FLORIDA BUILDING CODE, CHAPTER 1,
 ADMINISTRATION
  
 2017 EXISTING BUILDING CODE. 801.3 COMPLIANCE. ALL NEW
 CONSTRUCTION ELEMENTS, COMPONENTS, SYSTEMS, AND SPACES
 SHALL COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE FLORIDA
 BUILDING CODE, BUILDING.

 ACTION: DENIED
  
 1) THE SUBMITTED SKETCH DOES NOT MEET THE REQUIREMENT
 OF DRAFTSMAN QUALITY PLANS. 107.2.1.3. QUALITY OF
 PLANS. BUILDING PLANS SHALL BE DRAWN TO A 1/8TH INCH
 SCALE ON SUBSTANTIAL PAPER OR OTHER ACCEPTABLE MEDIUM.
 THE BUILDING OFFICIAL MAY ESTABLISH THROUGH DEPARTMENT
 POLICY OTHER STANDARDS FOR THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
 IN ORDER TO PROVIDE CONFORMITY TO ITS RECORD RETENTION
 PROGRAM. THIS POLICY MAY INCLUDE SUCH THINGS AS MINIMUM
 SIZE, SHAPE, CONTRAST, CLARITY, OR OTHER ITEMS RELATED
 TO RECORD MANAGEMENT. ELECTRONIC MEDIA MUST BE
 COMPATIBLE WITH THE ARCHIVE REQUIREMENTS OF FLORIDA
 STATUTES.
  
 2A) 2017 WEST PALM BEACH AMENDMENTS TO THE FLORIDA
 BUILDING CODE, CHAPTER 1, ADMINISTRATION 107.2.1.
 CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS SHALL BE SUFFICIENT CLARITY TO
 INDICATE THE LOCATION, NATURE AND EXTENT OF THE WORK
 PROPOSED AND SHOW IN DETAIL THAT IT WILL CONFORM TO THE
 PROVISIONS OF THIS CODE AND RELEVANT LAWS, ORDINANCES,
 RULES AND REGULATIONS, AS DETERMINED BY THE BUILDING
 OFFICIAL. THE SUBMITTED SKETCH DOES NOT PROVIDE
 DIMENSIONS OF THE DORM, BATHROOMS AND SHOWER
 ENCLOSURES. THE PLANS DO NOT SHOW CURBS NOR PAN
 DETAILS.
  
  
 2B) CERTIFICATION BY CONTRACTOR. 107.3.4.3
 CERTIFICATION BY CONTRACTOR. PLEASE NOTE THE EXCEPTION
 TO ENGINEERED PLANS UNDER 471.003(H) ELECTRICAL/
 PLUMBING/ MECHANICAL, 481.229(1)(C) (BUILDING) REQUIRES
 THE CONTRACTOR FOR THAT TRADE THAT WILL BE LICENSED IN
 THAT TRADE, WILL ALSO BE THE CONTRACTOR THAT DESIGNS
 THE SYSTEM UNDER THAT TRADE. THE CONTRACTOR (QUALIFIER)
 THAT CREATED / DRAWN THE SET OF PLANS WILL NEED TO
 IDENTIFY THEMSELVES AS THE AUTHOR OF THE PLANS. PLEASE
 PRINT YOUR NAME, SIGN YOUR NAME AND LICENSE NUMBER FOR
 THE TRADE YOU ARE LICENSED IN AND PLANS DRAWN. FOR EACH
 TRADE THE CONTRACTOR RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DESIGN UNDER
 THE TRADE LICENSED IN MUST PRINT THEIR NAME, SIGN THEIR
 NAME AND LICENSE NUMBER, NOTE THESE PLANS APPEAR TO BE
 DRAWN BY ONE INDUVIAL, THEY WOULD HAVE TO BE LICENSED
 AS A BUILDING, ELECTRICAL AND PLUMBING CONTRACTOR TO
 SUBMIT ALL THESE TRADES UNDER ONE SHEET.
  
  
 3) PLEASE ALSO REVIEW THE 2017EXISTING BUILDING CODE
 806.1 ACCESSIBILITY CODE. THIS SECTION REFERS YOU BACK
 TO THE 2017 FBC-ACCESSIBILITY CODE.
 SECTION 224.7 HOUSING AT A PLACE OF EDUCATION.
 TRANSIENT LODGING GUEST ROOMS IN SECTION 224 AND 806
 SHALL APPLY. THE TERM SLEEPING ROOM IS INTENDED TO BE
 INTERCHANGEABLE WITH THE TERM GUEST ROOMS AS IT IS USED
 IN THE TRANSIENT LODGING STANDARDS.
  
 3A) 2017 ACC. CODE SECTION 224.1.1 WHERE GUEST ROOMS
 ARE ALTERED THE REQUIREMENTS OF 224 SHALL APPLY ONLY TO
 THE GUEST ROOMS BEING ALTERED OR ADDED UNTIL THE NUMBER
 OF GUEST ROOMS COMPLIES WITH THE MINIMUM NUMBER
 REQUIRED FOR NEW CONSTRUCTION.
  
 3B) PLEASE REVIEW IN THE 2017 FBC-ACCESSIBILITY CODE
 TABLE 224.2 & SECTION224.6.3 A MINIMUM OF ONE BATHROOM
 WILL NEED TO MEET THE REQUIREMENTS FOR AN ACCESSIBLE
 BATHROOM ALL ELEMENTS OF THE RESTROOM, LAV, TOILET AND
 SHOWER AND ACCESSORIES WILL NEED TO MEET ALL OF THE
 REQUIREMENTS FOUND IN CHAPTER 6 OF THE ACCESSIBILITY
 BOOK.
  
 4) A TRANSMITTAL LETTER LISTING THE ORIGINAL REVIEW
 COMMENT NUMBER, WITH A DESCRIPTION OF THE REVISION
 MADE, IDENTIFYING THE SHEET OR SPECIFICATION PAGE WHERE
 THE CHANGES CAN BE FOUND WILL HELP TO EXPEDITE YOUR
 PERMIT. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ANTICIPATED COOPERATION.
  
 A THOROUGH REVIEW OF THE PLANS COULD NOT HAPPEN SINCE
 THERE WAS A GREAT DEFICIENCY IN PLANS AND REQUIRED
 DOCUMENTATION. WITH THE NEXT PLAN REVIEW CYCLE THERE
 MAYBE ADDITIONAL REVIEW COMMENTS BECAUSE OF NEW PLANS
 AND INFORMATION LACKING UNDER THE PRIOR REVIEW.
