 AMENDMENTS TO THE FLORIDA BUILDING CODE, CHAPTER 1,
 ADMINISTRATION.
  
 2017 EXISTING BUILDING CODE. 801.3 COMPLIANCE. ALL NEW
 CONSTRUCTION ELEMENTS, COMPONENTS, SYSTEMS, AND SPACES
 SHALL COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE FLORIDA
 BUILDING CODE, BUILDING.

 ACTION: DENIED
  
 1) THE PLAN INDICATES 400 -500 SQ. FT. OF REMOVAL AND
 REPLACEMENT OF EXISTING CONCRETE. THE PERMIT
 APPLICATION INDICATES THE REPLACEMENT DRIVEWAY IS TO BE
 A CONCRETE DRIVEWAY. THE PLAN ALSO HAS HASH-MARKED THE
 AREAS TO BE REMOVED AND REPLACED FOR A NEW CONCRETE
 DRIVEWAY AND APPROACH. THE AREA HASH MARKED IS
 APPROXIMATELY 1720 SQUARE FEET OR 3 TIMES THAT STATED
 ON THE PLANS. PLEASE REVIEW THE COST INVOLVED FOR
 REMOVAL OF CONCRETE, (INCLUDE EXCAVATING OF CONCRETE,
 MACHINERY, BOBCAT, DUMP TRUCKS AND DRIVER, DUMP
 TICKETS, TIME TO FORM PLUS LABOR, CONCRETE AND LABOR TO
 FINISH CONCRETE.
 108.3* BUILDING PERMIT VALUATION.
 IF, IN THE OPINION OF THE BUILDING OFFICIAL, THE
 CLAIMED VALUATION OF BUILDING, ALTERATION, STRUCTURE,
 ELECTRICAL, GAS, MECHANICAL, OR PLUMBING SYSTEMS
 APPEARS TO BE UNDER ESTIMATED ON THE APPLICATION, THE
 PERMIT SHALL BE DENIED. FOR PERMITTING PURPOSES,
 VALUATION OF BUILDINGS AND SYSTEMS SHALL BE TOTAL
 REPLACEMENT PURPOSES, VALUATION OF BUILDINGS AND
 SYSTEMS SHALL BE THE TOTAL REPLACEMENT VALUE TO INCLUDE
 STRUCTURAL, ELECTRICAL, PLUMBING, MECHANICAL, INTERIOR
 FINISHES, NORMAL SITE WORK (EXCAVATION AND BACKFILL FOR
 BUILDINGS), ARCHITECTURAL AND DESIGN FEES, MARKETING
 COST, OVERHEAD AND PROFIT; EXCLUDING ONLY LAND VALUE.
 VALUATION REFERENCES MAY INCLUDE THE LATEST PUBLISHED
 DATA OF NATIONAL CONSTRUCTION COST ANALYSIS SERVICES
 (MARSHALL-SWIFT, MEANS, ETC.) WITH REGIONAL ADJUSTMENTS
 FOR LOCATION AS PUBLISHED BY THE INTERNATIONAL CODE
 CONGRESS.
  
 2) THE PLANS ARE SILENT AS TO THE TYPE OF CONCRETE MIX
 TO BE USED FOR THE NEW DRIVEWAY. THE PLANS DO NOT SHOW
 ANY FOUNDATIONS, JUST THE INDICATION FUTURE USE A
 DRIVEWAY. A VAPOR BARRIER IS NOT REQUIRED FOR
 DRIVEWAYS, WALKS AND OR PATIOS. WHAT THE PLANS ARE
 DEFICIENT IN IS SECTION R506.2.4.2. THE PLANS DO NOT
 PROVIDE THE DEPTH OF THE NEW CONCRETE SLAB, NOR IF THE
 CONCRETE SLAB ON THE GROUND WILL BE CONTAINING 6X6
 W1.4XW1.4 WELDED WIRE REINFORCEMENT MESH LOCATED IN THE
 UPPER 1/3RD OF THE SLAB, SUPPORTED WITH APPROVED
 MATERIALS OR IF THE CONCRETE SLAB SHALL CONTAIN MICRO-
 OR MACRO-SYNTHETIC FIBER RE-INFORCEMENT.
  
 3) PLEASE SEE ENGINEERING COMMENTS ABOUT THE THICKNESS
 OF THE SLAB IN THE RIGHT OF WAY AND RE-INFORCEMENT.
  
 4) WHEN RESUBMITTING PLANS PLEASE INDICATE THE REVISION
 & REMOVE ANY VOIDED SHEETS & REPLACE ANY PAGES AS
 NECESSARY. A TRANSMITTAL LETTER LISTING THE ORIGINAL
 REVIEW COMMENT NUMBER, WITH A DESCRIPTION OF THE
 REVISION MADE, IDENTIFYING THE SHEET OR SPECIFICATION
 PAGE WHERE THE CHANGES CAN BE FOUND WILL HELP TO
 EXPEDITE YOUR PERMIT. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ANTICIPATED
