 AMENDMENTS TO THE FLORIDA BUILDING CODE, CHAPTER 1,
 ADMINISTRATION.
  
 2017 EXISTING BUILDING CODE. 801.3 COMPLIANCE. ALL NEW
 CONSTRUCTION ELEMENTS, COMPONENTS, SYSTEMS, AND SPACES
 SHALL COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE FLORIDA
 BUILDING CODE, BUILDING.

 ACTION: DENIED
  
 1) NOTICE, THE VALUE OF THE REVISION WAS EXTREMELY LOW.
 THE CONSTRUCTION COST FROM THE ICC TABLES IS $31200.00
 IN CALCULATED VALUE. PERMIT REVISION FEES HAVE BEEN
 ADJUSTED ACCORDINGLY. A BALANCE OF $691.06 IS DUE
 BEFORE THE REVISION CAN BE ISSUED.
  
 2A) THE STRUCTURAL SHEET S-1 HAS NOTES ON THE
 FOUNDATION AND ON SHEET S-5. SHEET S-5 DETAILS C & F
 BOTH SHOW A VERTICAL DIMENSION FOR THE MONOLITHIC
 FOUNDATION OF 12 INCHES. DETAIL C & F ALSO SHOW FROM
 GRADE TO THE TOP OF THE MONOLITHIC SLAB A 4 INCHES OR 8
 INCHES OF THE FOUNDATION BELOW GRADE.
 PLEASE REFER BACK TO THE 2017 FBC-B SECTION 1809.4
 DEPTH AND WIDTH OF FOOTINGS. THE MINIMUM DEPTH OF
 FOOTINGS BELOW THE UNDISTURBED GROUND SURFACE SHALL BE
 12 INCHES.
  
 2B) THE OTHER ISSUE WITH DETAILS C & F ARE THERE IS NO
 FINISH COAT OF STUCCO SHOWN ON THE PLAN. THE
 ARCHITECTURAL SHEET ONLY STATES THE FINISH TO MATCH
 EXISTING. IN THE 2017 FBC-B SECTION 2512.1.1 ON-GRADE
 FLOOR SLAB AND WOOD FRAMING AND WOOD SHEATHING. ON WOOD
 FRAME STUD CONSTRUCTION WITH AN ON-GRADE CONCRETE FLOOR
 SLAB SYSTEM, EXTERIOR PLASTER SHALL BE APPLIED IN SUCH
 A MANNER AS TO COVER, BUT NOT TO EXTEND BELOW, THE LATH
 AND PAPER. THE APPLICATION OF LATH, PAPER AND FLASHING
 OR DRIP SCREEDS SHALL COMPLY WITH ASTM C1063.
  
 FBC-B 2512.1.2 WEEP SCREEDS. A MINIMUM 0.019-INCH (0.48
 MM) (NO. 26 GALVANIZED SHEET GAGE), CORROSION-RESISTANT
 WEEP SCREED WITH A MINIMUM VERTICAL ATTACHMENT FLANGE
 OF 3 1/2 INCHES SHALL BE PROVIDED AT OR BELOW THE
 FOUNDATION PLATE LINE ON EXTERIOR STUD WALLS IN
 ACCORDANCE WITH ASTM C926. THE WEEP SCREED SHALL BE
 PLACED A MINIMUM OF 4 INCHES (102 MM) ABOVE THE EARTH.
  
 IN ASTM SECTION 7.11.5 FOUNDATION WHIP SCREEDS ARE TO
 BE PLACED AT THE BOTTOM EDGE OF THE FOUNDATION WEEP
 SCREEDS NOT LESS THAN ONE INCH BELOW THE JOINT FORMED
 BY THE FOUNDATION AND FRAMING. THE NOSE OF THE WHIP
 SCREED SHALL BE PLACED NOT LESS THAN 4 INCHES ABOVE THE
 RAW EARTH.
  
 THIS WOULD MAKE THE VERTICAL MEASUREMENT 12 + 4 + 1 =
 17 INCHES VERTICAL MEASUREMENT.
  
 PLEASE ALSO REVIEW IN THE 2017 FBC-B A MORE RESTRICTIVE
 6 INCH CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT FOR WOOD SHEATHING
 (PLYWOOD) IF NOT PRESSURE TREATED. SEE 2304.12.1.5 WOOD
 SIDING. 2304.12.1.5 WOOD SIDING.
  
 CLEARANCE BETWEEN WOOD SIDING AND EARTH ON THE EXTERIOR
 OF A BUILDING SHALL NOT BE LESS THAN 6 INCHES OR LESS
 THAN 2 INCHES VERTICAL FROM CONCRETE STEPS, PORCH
 SLABS, PATIO SLABS AND SIMILAR HORIZONTAL SURFACES
 EXPOSED TO THE WEATHER EXCEPT WHERE SIDING, SHEATHING
 AND WALL FRAMING ARE OF NATURALLY DURABLE OR
 PRESERVATIVE-TREATED WOOD. THIS WOULD BE A MORE
 RESTRICTIVE REQUIREMENT OR 12 + 6 + 1= 19 INCH VERTICAL
 REQUIREMENT FOR MONOLITHIC FOUNDATIONS.
  
 3) THE OTHER ISSUE WITH THE EXTERIOR CEMENT-PLASTER
 (STUCCO) FINISH IS THE PLANS DO NOT MENTION THE
 REQUIRED 2 LAYERS FOR A WATER-RESISTIVE BARRIER. PLEASE
 REVIEW IN THE 2017 FBC-B SECTION 2510.6.
 2510.6 WATER-RESISTIVE BARRIERS. WATER-RESISTIVE
 BARRIERS SHALL BE INSTALLED AS REQUIRED IN SECTION
 1404.2 AND, WHERE APPLIED OVER WOOD-BASED SHEATHING,
 SHALL INCLUDE A WATER-RESISTIVE VAPOR-PERMEABLE BARRIER
 WITH A PERFORMANCE AT LEAST EQUIVALENT TO TWO LAYERS OF
 WATER-RESISTIVE BARRIER COMPLYING WITH ASTM E2556, TYPE
 I. THE INDIVIDUAL LAYERS SHALL BE INSTALLED
 INDEPENDENTLY SUCH THAT EACH LAYER PROVIDES A SEPARATE
 CONTINUOUS PLANE AND ANY FLASHING (INSTALLED IN
 ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 1405.4) INTENDED TO DRAIN TO
 THE WATER-RESISTIVE BARRIER IS DIRECTED BETWEEN THE
 LAYERS.
  
 4) SHEET S-2 INDICATES THE NEW RAFTERS ARE 2X8 @ 24
 INCHES ON CENTER AND 2X10 @ 24 INCHES ON CENTER.
 IT APPEARS THE 2X8?S HAVE A SPAN OF 12 FEET AND THE
 2X10?S A SPAN OF POSSIBLY 13 FEET. THE PLAN (REVISION)
 DOES NOT PROVIDE THE ROOF LIVE LOADS, DEAD LOADS AND
 THE TYPE OF CEILINGS THAT ARE GOING TO BE ATTACHED TO
 THE RAFTERS SINCE THESE ARE CATHEDRAL CEILINGS. MISSING
 IS THE SPECIES AND GRADE OF THE RAFTERS. SIZING OF
 RAFTERS CANNOT BE ACCOMPLISHED UNTIL THIS INFORMATION
 IS PROVIDE. 2017 FBC-B TABLE 2308.7.2(1). RAFTER SPANS
 FOR COMMON LUMBER SPECIES.
  
 5) SHEET S-5 WITH THE NEW ADDITION AND DETAIL # 13
 SHOWS THE OVERHANG LESS THAN 6 INCHES COMPLIANCE WITH
 1503.7 FBC-B BOTH THE FRONT AND BACK OF THE BUILDING
 WILL BE REQUIRED. GUTTERS WITH DOWNSPOUTS ARE REQUIRED
 ON ALL BUILDINGS WITH EAVES OF LESS THAN 6 INCHES
 HORIZONTAL PROJECTION EXCEPT FOR GABLE AND END RAKES OR
 ON A ROOF ABOVE ANOTHER ROOF.
  
 6) NEW ROOF WILL NEED TO SHOW COMPLIANCE WITH 2017
 FBC-B 1609.6.4.4.1 COMPONENTS & CLADDING. FLORIDA
 DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AFFAIRS, ADMINISTRATIVE CODE
 61G20-3.005, RULE 9N-3 NOV. 01/ 2010 (31) SUB-CATEGORY
 OF PRODUCTS OR CONSTRUCTION SYSTEMS THAT WILL REQUIRE
 PRODUCT APPROVALS:
 (31)(D) ROOFING PRODUCTS
 PLEASE PROVIDE 2 SETS OF PRODUCT APPROVALS.
  
 7) W. P. B. 107.3.4.1 PRODUCT APPROVALS. THOSE PRODUCTS
 WHICH ARE REGULATED BY THE DCA RULE 9N-03 SHALL BE
 REVIEWED AND APPROVED IN WRITING BY THE DESIGNER OF
 RECORD PRIOR TO SUBMITTAL FOR JURISDICTIONAL APPROVAL.

 SUPERVISING AND REVIEWING ALL PROJECT DATA, REPORTS,

 8) THE STRUCTURAL SHEET S-5 INDICATES A 3/12 ROOF
 SLOPE. PLEASE NOTE THE REQUIREMENT FOR 2 LAYERS OF
 UNDERLAYMENT, SEE 2017 FBC-B TABLE 1507.1.1.
  
 9) IMPACT FEES - DIGITAL SUBMITTALS: PLANS WILL BE
 REVIEWED BY THE PBC IMPACT FEE OFFICE DIGITALLY VIA
 PROJECT DOX UPON NOTIFICATION BY THIS OFFICE.
 NOTIFICATION MAY OCCUR WHEN PLANS ARE NEAREST FINAL
 FORM. YOU MAY COORDINATE WITH THE IMPACT FEE OFFICE AT
