 SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS FOR NURSING HOMES.
  
 1H) 2017 FBC-B SECTION 450.1.3. FLORIDA BUILDING CODE,
 EXISTING BUILDINGS, SECTION 101.2, SCOPE EXEMPTS STATE
 LICENSED FACILITIES SUCH AS NURSING HOMES FROM
 COMPLIANCE WITH THAT CODE. ANY, REPAIRS, ALTERATIONS,
 CHANGE OF OCCUPANCY, ADDITION OR RELOCATION OF AN
 EXISTING STATE LICENSED NURSING HOME SHALL COMPLY WITH
 THE APPLICABLE REQUIREMENTS OF THIS CODE AND THIS
 SECTION.
  
 THE LIFE SAFETY SHEET LIST UNDER THE PROJECT SCOPE A
 LEVEL 1 ALTERATION. PLEASE UPDATE THE PLANS. ALL WORK
 IS TO BE CONSIDERED AS NEW WORK AND MEET ALL OF THE
 REQUIREMENTS UNDER ALL OF THE ABOVE CODES AND
 STANDARDS.
  
 2) SHEET R101 THE LIFE SAFETY SHEET:
 2A) HEADING, EXISTING BUILDING DATA MAKES REFERENCE TO
 THE IBC. PLEASE NOTE THE IBC MAYBE THE BASE CODE, BUT
 FLORIDA HAS ADOPTED THE 2017 FAMILY OF FBC CODES. THE
 FLORIDA CODE IS MORE RESTRICTIVE, PLEASE USE THE 2017
 FBC AS YOUR DESIGN CRITERIA AS WELL AS THE REFERENCED
 STANDARDS, FLORIDA STATUTES AND ADMINISTRATIVE CODE FOR
 DESIGN PURPOSES.
  
 2B) THE EXISTING BUILDING DATA HAS LEFT BLANK THE
 CONSTRUCTION TYPE? PLEASE REVIEW THE 2017 FBC-B TABLES
 504.3, 504.4 & 506.2.
  
 2C) PLEASE UPDATE PLANS AS TO THE REFERENCED CODE, NOT
 THE IBC, BUT THE 2017 FBC-B IN REGARDS TO THE OCCUPANCY
 TYPE.
  
 2D) SHEET R-101 THE LIFE SAFETY PLAN: EXISTING BUILDING
 DATA GIVES THE SQUARE FOOT AREA OF 21,041 SQUARE FEET.
 THE P. B. COUNTY GEO NAV MAPPING SHOWS 54,850 SQUARE
 FEET IN AREA. WHY SUCH A DIFFERENCE IN SQ. FOOTAGE?
 PLEASE SHOW COMPLIANCE WITH THE 2017 FBC-B SECTION
 407.5 FOR SMOKE COMPARTMENTS. SMOKE BARRIERS SHALL BE
 PROVIDED TO SUBDIVIDE EVERY STORY USED BY PERSONS
 RECEIVING CARE, TREATMENT OR SLEEPING AND TO DIVIDE
 OTHER STORIES WITH AN OCCUPANT LOAD OF 50 OR MORE
 PERSONS, INTO NO FEWER THAN TWO SMOKE COMPARTMENTS.
 SUCH STORIES SHALL BE DIVIDED INTO SMOKE COMPARTMENTS
 WITH AN AREA OF NOT MORE THAN 22,500 SQUARE FEET (2092
 M2) IN GROUP I-2, CONDITION 1, AND NOT MORE THAN 40,000
 SQUARE FEET (3716 M2) IN GROUP I-2, CONDITION 2, AND
 THE DISTANCE OF TRAVEL FROM ANY POINT IN A SMOKE
 COMPARTMENT TO A SMOKE BARRIER DOOR SHALL BE NOT
 GREATER THAN 200 FEET (60 960 MM). THE SMOKE BARRIER
 SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 709SECTION 709.
  
 2E) THE LIFE SAFETY PLAN SHOWS A WALL LEGEND FOR THE
 FIRE AND SMOKE RATINGS OF WALLS. PLEASE NOTE THERE ARE
 NO RATING OF WALLS ON THE PLANS. THE PLANS CURRENTLY
 UNDER THIS REVIEW DO NOT SHOW COMPLIANCE WITH SECTION
 407.5 NOR INFORMATION ON THE DOORS LEADING FROM EACH
 SMOKE COMPARTMENT.
  
 3) A THOROUGH REVIEW OF THE PLANS COULD NOT HAPPEN
 SINCE THERE WAS A GREAT DEFICIENCY IN PLANS AND
 REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION. WITH THE NEXT PLAN REVIEW CYCLE
 THERE MAYBE ADDITIONAL REVIEW COMMENTS BECAUSE OF NEW
 PLANS AND INFORMATION LACKING UNDER THE PRIOR REVIEW.
  
 WHEN RESUBMITTING PLANS PLEASE INDICATE THE REVISION &
 REMOVE ANY VOIDED SHEETS & REPLACE ANY PAGES AS
 NECESSARY. A TRANSMITTAL LETTER LISTING THE ORIGINAL
 REVIEW COMMENT NUMBER, WITH A DESCRIPTION OF THE
 REVISION MADE, IDENTIFYING THE SHEET OR SPECIFICATION
 PAGE WHERE THE CHANGES CAN BE FOUND WILL HELP TO
 EXPEDITE YOUR PERMIT. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ANTICIPATED
