 PLEASE PROVIDE ELEVATION CERTIFICATE SO WE CAN REVIEW
 BASE FLOOD ELEVATIONS (B.F.E.)
 IF THE LOWEST FLOOR ELEVATION IS AT LEAST 9 FEET NAVD
 THEN THE PROPOSED ADDITIONS AND REVOVATIONS CAN MOVE
 FORWARD AS SHOWN.
 OTHERWISE, ALL PORTIONS OF EXISTING BUILDINGS NEED TO
 COME INTO COMPLIANCE WITH FEMA FLOOD ZONE PROVISIONS
 AND THE CITY OF WPB ORDINANCES.
  
 I DID A PRELIMINARY REVIEW OF THE PROPOSED WORK SO THAT
 ADDITIONAL MATERIALS COULD BE PROVIDED WHILE THE
 REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO MEET SUBSTANTIAL IMPROVEMENT ARE
 BEING REVIEWED. ADDITIONAL COMMENTS MAY BE FORTHCOMING
 PENDING REVIEW OF MATERIALS REQUESTED.
  
 1. 501.1.1 FBC[RE] ADDITIONS, ALTERATIONS, OR REPAIRS:
 GENERAL. ADDITIONS, ALTERATIONS, OR REPAIRS TO AN
 EXISTING BUILDING, BUILDING SYSTEM OR PORTION THEREOF
 SHALL COMPLY WITH SECTION R502, R503 OR R504. UNALTERED
 PORTIONS OF THE EXISTING BUILDING OR BUILDING SUPPLY
 SYSTEM SHALL NOT BE REQUIRED TO COMPLY WITH THIS CODE.
 - PROVIDE DOCUMENTATION OF ENERGY CODE COMPLIANCE FOR
 THE METHOD CHOSEN.

 OCTOBER 5, 2017 AND LATER ARE TO UTILIZE NAVD88 AND
 INCLUDE A CONVERSION TO NGVD29.
 - THIS PROJECT IS A SUBSTANTIAL IMPROVEMENT AND THE IF
 THE B.F.E. IS LESS THAN 9 FEET THAN THE STRUCTURES WILL
 NEED TO BE BROUGHT INTO COMPLIANCE.
  
 4. 322.2.1 FBC[R] THE CITY OF WPB HAS ADOPTED A TWO
 FOOT FREEBOARD ABOVE B.F.E. SEE AMENDMENT TO FBC
 R322.2.1 IN ORD. NO. 4765-18, ? 2, 3-12-2018(SEC 18-33)
 THIS PROJECT IS LOCATED IN A SPECIAL FLOOD HAZARD AREA
 (SFHA). THE SPECIFIC ZONE DESIGNATION FOR THIS SITE IS
 AE WITH A BASE FLOOD ELEVATION (BFE) OF 7FT. THE CITY
 OF WEST PALM BEACH (THROUGH ORDINANCE) REQUIRES AN
 ADDITIONAL 24 INCHES OF FREEBOARD REQUIRING THE DESIGN
 FLOOD ELEVATION (DFE) TO BE 9.0 FEET. PLEASE NOTE THIS
 INFORMATION ON YOUR PLANS. A CONSTRUCTION DRAWING
 ELEVATION CERTIFICATE IS REQUIRED AT TIME OF PERMIT
 APPLICATION. NOTE: ALL EQUIPMENT SERVICING THE
 BUILDINGS ON THIS SITE ARE REQUIRED TO BE AT OR ABOVE
 9.0 FEET NGVD. AN UNDER CONSTRUCTION (FORMBOARD) SURVEY
 WITH FINISHED FLOOR ELEVATION IS RECOMMENDED. A
 FINISHED CONSTRUCTION ELEVATION CERTIFICATE IS REQUIRED
 AND SHALL BE SUBMITTED FOR REVIEW AND APPROVAL PRIOR TO
 THE ISSUANCE OF THE CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY.
 - CURRENT FLOOD ZONE = AE = B.F.E. 7 FEET PLUS 2 FOOT
 FREEBOARD = 9 FOOT DESIGN FLOOD ELEVATION(D.F.E.)
  
 5. 110.3(A)1.1 FBC[AMENDED] A FOUNDATION/FORM BOARD
 SURVEY PREPARED AND CERTIFIED BY A REGISTERED SURVEYOR
 MAY BE REQUIRED, PRIOR TO APPROVAL OF THE SLAB
 INSPECTION. THE SURVEY SHALL CERTIFY PLACEMENT OF THE
 BUILDING ON THE SITE, ILLUSTRATE ALL SURROUNDING
 SETBACK DIMENSIONS AND SHALL BE AVAILABLE AT THE JOB
 SITE FOR REVIEW BY THE BUILDING INSPECTOR.
 - PLEASE PROVIDE TO BUILDING INSPECTOR AT THE JOB SITE.
  
 6. 322.2.2 FBC[R] ENCLOSED AREAS BELOW DESIGN FLOOD
 ELEVATION.
 - SHOW ELEVATION OF GARAGE ON ELEVATION CERTIFICATE.
  
 7. 301.2(7) FIGURE FBC[R] PROVIDE WIND DIAGRAM THAT
 MATCHES THE ROOF CONDITION OF THIS HOUSE.
 - ALSO, ADJUST MEAN ROOF HEIGHT ON SHEET A-4.1 IN WIND
 DESIGN CRITERIA TO ACCOUNT FOR 3RD FLOOR ROOF DECK
 HEIGHT.
  
 NOTES:
 -PLEASE PROVIDE COMMENT RESPONSE SHEET TO EXPLAIN HOW
 EACH COMMENT IS BEING ADDRESSED.
  
 -WHEN RESUBMITTING, PROVIDE TWO IDENTICAL COLLATED SETS
 OF DOCUMENTS FOR ISSUANCE. OLD SHEETS (BOTH SETS)
 SHOULD BE RETAINED IN THE PACKAGE; PLEASE DO NOT
 DISCARD ANY DOCUMENTS. THEY SHOULD BE BOUND TOGETHER
 SEPARATELY FROM THE TWO ISSUANCE SETS AND MARKED "VOID"
 OR "OLD SHEETS". PLEASE DO NOT STAMP THE PLANS VOID AS
 APPLICANTS ARE INADVERTENTLY STAMPING SHEETS THAT WE
 NEED "VOID", RENDERING THEM NOT USABLE.
