 CODE: FBC 6TH EDITION (2017) AND CITY AMENDMENTS.
  
  
 ORIGINAL COMMENT:
 1) THE COVERSHEET LIST THE PROJECT DATA. THE PLAN
 INDICATES THIS NEW TENANT SPACE IS TO BE A BUSINESS
 OCCUPANCY. CURRENTLY THE SPACE IS A DRUG STORE WHICH IS
 A MERCANTILE OCCUPANCY. PLEASE SEE CHAPTER 10 OF THE
 EXISTING BUILDING CODE SECTION 1001.2.2.1 FOR PARTIAL
 CHANGE OF OCCUPANCY REQUIREMENTS. WHERE A PORTION OF A
 BUILDING IS CHANGING OCCUPANCIES SECTION 1012 OF THE
 EXISTING BUILDING CODE SHALL APPLY.
 2017 EXISTING BUILDING CODE. 801.3 COMPLIANCE. ALL NEW
 CONSTRUCTION ELEMENTS, COMPONENTS, SYSTEMS, AND SPACES
 SHALL COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE FLORIDA
 BUILDING CODE, BUILDING.
  
 RESPONSE:
 A) THE PROJECT DATA INFORMATION ON THE COVERSHEET IS
 NOT CLEAR. CURRENTLY THE SPACE IS A DRUG STORE WHICH IS
 MERCANTILE OCCUPANCY. IT LOOKS LIKE A PORTION OF THE
 DRUG STORE IS PROPOSED TO BE A BEAUTY SALON WHICH IS
 BUSINESS OCCUPANCY. ACCORDING TO FIRST FLOOR PLAN ON
 SHEET A-1 THE PHARMACY WILL REMAIN ON THE OTHER PART OF
 THE BUILDING. THEREFORE, THE DRUG STORE MERCANTILE
 OCCUPANCY STILL REMAINS. THIS IS A PARTIAL CHANGE OF
 OCCUPANCY CLASSIFICATION WITHOUT SEPARATION. PROJECT
 DATA SHALL BE CLEAR IN STATING THE EXISTING OCCUPANCY
 GROUP AND THE PROPOSED PARTIAL OCCUPANCY GROUP. SINCE
 THERE IS NOT SEPARATION AMONG THE OCCUPANCY
 CLASSIFICATIONS, THEN THE MOST RESTRICTIVE OCCUPANCY
 WILL PREVAIL FOR ENTIRE BUILDING. SECTION 1012.1.1.1
 FBC-EXISTING BUILDING.
  
 B) PROPOSED FLOOR PLAN DOESN'T SHOW THE LAYOUT OF THE
 PHARMACY AREA TO REMAIN. PROVIDE PLANS SHOWING THE
 AREAS THAT ARE GOING TO BE OCCUPIED BY THE PHARMACY.
 SHOW ALL THE ISLES, ETC. SEC. 107.2.1 CITY AMENDMENTS.
 SEC. 1012.4.2 FBC-EXISTING BUILDING. SEC. 1018

 C) THERE IS NO DIMENSION FOR THE CORRIDOR (HALL 108).
 PROVIDE DIMENSION. SEC. 1012.4.2 FBC-EXISTING BUILDING.

 ORIGINAL COMMENT:
 3B) SHEET A1 DETAIL 1 SHOWS THE TENANT WALLS EXTENDING
 UP HALFWAY TO THE CEILING. ABOVE THIS AREA THE AIR
 COMMUNICATES WITH THE EXIT CORRIDOR AND OTHER TENANT
 SPACES. IN THE 2017 FBC-B SECTION 2801.1. MECHANICAL
 APPLIANCES, EQUIPMENT AND SYSTEMS SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED,
 INSTALLED AND MAINTAINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FLORIDA
 BUILDING CODE, MECHANICAL. IN THE MECHANICAL CODE UNDER
 VENTILATION TABLE 403.3.1.1 SPECIALTY SHOPS PLEASE SEE
 BEAUTY SALON REQUIREMENTS (SEE FOOTNOTE B) FOR
 VENTILATION AND IF MANICURES AND OR PEDICURE STATIONS
 SOURCE CAPTURE SYSTEMS ARE REQUIRED AT EACH STATION,
 SEE FOOTNOTES B & H. FOOTNOTE B STATES MECHANICAL
 EXHAUST REQUIRED AND THE RECIRCULATION OF AIR FROM SUCH
 SPACES IS PROHIBITED. RECIRCULATION OF AIR THAT IS
 CONTAINED COMPLETELY WITHIN SUCH SPACES SHALL NOT BE
 PROHIBITED (SEE SECTION 403.2.1, ITEM 3).
  
 RESPONSE:
 THIS ITEMS NEEDS TO BE COORDINATED WITH THE MECHANICAL
 PLANS EXAMINER AND THE ENGINEER OF RECORD. (MECHANICAL
 PLANS EXAMINER FOR THIS JOB IS OUT OF THE OFFICE TODAY.
 I WILL TALK TO HIM WHEN HE IS BACK). IT IS NOT CLEAR IF
 MECHAICAL PLAN REVIEWER AND THE ENGINEER OF RECORD ARE
 AWARE OF THE FACT THAT THE TENANT SEPARATION WALLS
 DON'T GO ALL THE WAY UP TO THE CEILING. (SEC. 1009.1
 FBC-EXISTING BUILDING). ALSO, THE EXHAUST LOCATION
 NEEDS TO BE REVIEWED. ACCORDING TO SEC. 502.1.1
 FBC-MECHANICAL, THE INLET TO AN EXHAUST SYSTEM SHALL BE
 LOCATED IN THE AREA OF HEAVIEST CONCENTRATION OF
 CONTAMINANTS. HEAVIEST CONCENTRATION MAY BE BY THE
 STYLING AREA.

 THE USE OF (2) 2X6 BUCKS BEING FASTENED TO STEEL BEAM
 AND COLUMNS WITH 2 INCH SCREWS AT 12 INCHES ON CENTER.
 3F)(2) DETAILS 3 AND 4 DO NOT SHOW THE INSTALLATION OF
 A DOUBLE BUCK ATTACHED TO THE STEEL BEAM OR COLUMN.
 107.2.1.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REQUIRED.
  
 RESPONSE:
 DETAIL IS NOT CLEAR. DETAIL 5 SHOWS DOUBLE 2X4 BUCKS.
 SIZE OF SCREW SPECIFIED DOESN'T SEEM TO BE LONG ENOUGH
 TO FASTEN THE TWO BUCKS TO THE STEEL COLUMN/BEAM. IN
 ADDITION, THE TWO 2X4 BUCKS ARE THE STRUCTURAL BUCKS
 TRANSFERRING THE NEW DOORS AND STOREFRONT WIND LOADS TO
 THE STEEL COLUMN/BEAM. PROVIDE CALCULATIONS SHOWING
 THAT THE PROPOSED CONNECTION DETAIL WILL SUPPORT ALL
 THE LOADS. SEC. 107.2.1.2 CITY AMENDMENTS. SEC. 1609.1

 PROCEDURE SPECIFICATIONS & WELDER OPERATOR PERFORMANCE
 QUALIFICATION RECORDS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE REFERENCED
 STANDARDS AT TIME OF INSPECTION. IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
 AMERICAN WELDING SOCIETY.

 QUESTIONNAIRE FORM TO THE PBC IMPACT FEE OFFICE. THE
