 2017 EXISTING BUILDING CODE. 801.3 COMPLIANCE. ALL NEW
 CONSTRUCTION ELEMENTS, COMPONENTS, SYSTEMS, AND SPACES
 SHALL COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE FLORIDA
 BUILDING CODE, BUILDING.

 1) ALS1.1- LIFE SAFETY SHEET:
  
 1A) PLEASE NOTE THE SUBMITTED PLAN INDICATES THIS
 BUILDING CONSTRUCTION TYPE AS TYPE IIA(UNSPRINKLERED).
 THE ORIGINAL BUILDING PERMIT 99081334 UNDER THE 1997
 SBC AND BUILDING TYPE WAS TYPE II FULLY SPRINKLERED.
 UNDER THE 1997 SBC AND THE 2001 FBC THERE WAS STILL A
 TYPE VI CONSTRUCTION. UNDER THE 2004 FBC THE TYPE VI
 CONSTRUCTION WAS DROPPED AND THE CONSTRUCTION TYPE FOR
 BUILDING WERE CONVERTED WITH AN EQUIVALENCY. UNDER THE
 1997 SBC TYPE II CONSTRUCTION = TYPE IB BUILDING
 CONSTRUCTION TYPE UNDER THE 2004 FBC AND STILL TODAY
 UNDER THE 2017 FBC-B. PLEASE UPDATE THE PLANS.
  
 1B) UNDER THE HEADING OF CLASSIFICATION OF WORK THE
 PLAN STATES THIS IS AN ALTERATION LEVEL II. THE LAST
 KNOWN USE FOR THIS TENANT SPACE WAS AN AMUSEMENT
 ARCADE/ BOWLING ALLEY AN A-3 ASSEMBLY OCCUPANCY. THE
 DESIGNER OF RECORD IS CLASSIFYING THE NEW OCCUPANCY
 TYPE AS BUSINESS OCCUPANCY. PLEASE REFER TO THE 2017
 EXISTING BUILDING CODE FOR CHANGE OF OCCUPANCY
 1001.2.2.1 PARTIAL CHANGE OF OCCUPANCY. WHERE THE
 OCCUPANCY CLASSIFICATION OR GROUP OF A PORTION OF AN
 EXISTING BUILDING IS CHANGED, SECTION 1012 SHALL APPLY.
  
 1C) UNDER THE HEADING CONSTRUCTION THE PLANS INDICATE
 THE BUILDING IS UNSPRINKLERED. UNDER THE ORIGINAL
 PERMIT 99081334 AND CODE THE 1997 SBC THERE WERE 2 CODE
 SECTIONS THAT REQUIRED THE BUILDING TO BE FIRE
 SPRINKLERED.
 1997 SBC GROUP M OCCUPANCY WHERE THE 1ST FLOOR AREA
 EXCEEDS 15,000 SQ. FT. THE 2ND CODE SECTION DEALS WITH
 R2 OCCUPANCIES. AN APPROVED AUTOMATIC SPRINKLER SYSTEM
 SHALL BE PROVIDED THROUGHOUT GROUP R2 OCCUPANCIES 3
 STORIES AND HIGHER 903.7.6 1997 SBC.
  
 EXISTING BUILDING CODE 1012.2 FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEMS.
 FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEMS SHALL BE PROVIDED IN ACCORDANCE
 WITH SECTIONS 1012.2.1 AND 1012.2.2.
  
 EXISTING BUILDING CODE 1012.2.1 FIRE SPRINKLER SYSTEM.
 WHERE A CHANGE IN OCCUPANCY CLASSIFICATION OCCURS OR
 WHERE THERE IS A CHANGE OF OCCUPANCY WITHIN A SPACE
 WHERE THERE IS A DIFFERENT FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEM
 THRESHOLD REQUIREMENT IN CHAPTER 9 OF THE FLORIDA
 BUILDING CODE, BUILDING THAT REQUIRES AN AUTOMATIC FIRE
 SPRINKLER SYSTEM TO BE PROVIDED BASED ON THE NEW
 OCCUPANCY IN ACCORDANCE WITH CHAPTER 9 OF THE FLORIDA
 BUILDING CODE, BUILDING, SUCH SYSTEM SHALL BE PROVIDED
 THROUGHOUT THE AREA WHERE THE CHANGE OF OCCUPANCY
 OCCURS
  
 2017 FBC-B [F] 903.2.11.3 BUILDINGS THREE STORIES OR
 MORE IN HEIGHT. ANY BUILDING WHICH IS OF THREE STORIES
 OR MORE IN HEIGHT SHALL BE EQUIPPED WITH AN APPROVED
 AUTOMATIC SPRINKLER SYSTEM INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH
 SECTION 903.1.
  
 1D) THE LIFE SAFETY SHEET INDICATES THE FLOOR PLAN
 DESIGN IS FOR A BUSINESS OCCUPANCY BUT THE PLANS DO NOT
 SHOW COMPLIANCE WITH SECTION 2902.1 & TABLE 2902.1 OF
 THE 2017 FBC-B NUMBER OF RESTROOMS, DRINKING FOUNTAINS
 (HIGH/ LOW) AND SERVICE SINK. THIS SPACE LOOKS MORE
 LIKE A SHELL SPACE WHERE THE CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY
 WOULD BE REVOKED FOR THE SPACE.
  
 1E) FOR A BUSINESS OCCUPANCY PLEASE PROVIDE THE
 FURNITURE FLOOR PLANS FOR BOTH THE NORTH AND SOUTH
 TENANT SPACES. THIS WAY WE CAN CALCULATE COMMON PATH OF
 TRAVEL, TABLE 1006.2.1 FBC-B AND DEAD ENDS IF THEY
 OCCUR, SEE 1020.4 FBC-B.
  
 1F) PLEASE DECLARE THE REAR EXITS OCCUR HOW FAR IT IS
 TO THE PROPERTY LINE. PLEASE PROVIDE WHAT IS PAST THE
 PROPERTY LINE AND COMPLIANCE WITH 2017 FBC-B SECTIONS:
 1028.2 EXIT DISCHARGE WIDTH OR CAPACITY. THE MINIMUM
 WIDTH OR REQUIRED CAPACITY OF THE EXIT DISCHARGE SHALL
 BE NOT LESS THAN THE MINIMUM WIDTH OR REQUIRED CAPACITY
 OF THE EXITS BEING SERVED.
  
 1028.3 EXIT DISCHARGE COMPONENTS. EXIT DISCHARGE
 COMPONENTS SHALL BE SUFFICIENTLY OPEN TO THE EXTERIOR
 SO AS TO MINIMIZE THE ACCUMULATION OF SMOKE AND TOXIC

 CONNECTIONS FOR THE NEW FRAMING MEMBERS. THE CONTRACTOR
 IS REQUIRED TO PROVIDE WELD PROCEDURE SPECIFICATIONS &
 WELDER OPERATOR PERFORMANCE QUALIFICATION RECORDS IN
 ACCORDANCE WITH THE REFERENCED STANDARDS AT TIME OF
 INSPECTION. IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE AMERICAN WELDING
 SOCIETY.

 DEPARTMENT. FOR ALL PRODUCTS WITH GLAZING, PLEASE
 IDENTIFY THE OPENING WIDTH & HEIGHT, TYPE OF GLAZING,
 MULLION SIZE, LENGTH IF UNREINFORCED OR REINFORCED
 INFORMATION IF REQUIRED, ATTACHMENTS AND ASSOCIATE
 PRESSURES FOR EACH OPENING SIZE. 2017 FBC-B 1405.13.1
 INSTALLATION. WINDOWS AND DOORS SHALL BE INSTALLED IN
 ACCORDANCE WITH APPROVED MANUFACTURER?S INSTRUCTIONS.
 FASTENER SIZE AND SPACING SHALL BE PROVIDED IN SUCH
 INSTRUCTIONS AND SHALL BE CALCULATED BASED ON MAXIMUM
 LOADS AND SPACING USED IN THE TESTS.
  
 6) W. P. B. 107.3.4.1 PRODUCT APPROVALS. THOSE PRODUCTS
 WHICH ARE REGULATED BY THE DCA RULE 9N-03 SHALL BE
 REVIEWED AND APPROVED IN WRITING BY THE DESIGNER OF
 RECORD PRIOR TO SUBMITTAL FOR JURISDICTIONAL APPROVAL.
 FL 61G1-23.015 (2) THE ARCHITECT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR
 SUPERVISING AND REVIEWING ALL PROJECT DATA, REPORTS,
 SHOP DRAWINGS ETC..
  
 7) 107.3.4.2 DEFERRED SUBMITTALS. FOR THE PURPOSES OF
 THIS SECTION, DEFERRED SUBMITTALS ARE DEFINED AS THOSE
 PORTIONS OF THE DESIGN THAT ARE NOT SUBMITTED AT THE
 TIME OF THE APPLICATION AND THAT ARE TO BE SUBMITTED TO
 THE BUILDING OFFICIAL WITHIN A SPECIFIED PERIOD.
 DEFERRAL OF ANY SUBMITTAL ITEMS SHALL HAVE THE PRIOR
 APPROVAL OF THE BUILDING OFFICIAL. THE REGISTERED
 DESIGN PROFESSIONAL IN RESPONSIBLE CHARGE SHALL LIST
 THE DEFERRED SUBMITTALS ON THE CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS
 FOR REVIEW BY THE BUILDING OFFICIAL.
  
 DOCUMENTS FOR DEFERRED SUBMITTAL ITEMS SHALL BE
 SUBMITTED TO THE REGISTERED DESIGN PROFESSIONAL IN
 RESPONSIBLE CHARGE WHO SHALL REVIEW THEM AND FORWARD
 THEM TO THE BUILDING OFFICIAL WITH A NOTATION
 INDICATING THAT THE DEFERRED SUBMITTAL DOCUMENTS HAVE
 BEEN REVIEWED AND FOUND TO BE IN GENERAL CONFORMANCE TO
 THE DESIGN OF THE BUILDING. THE DEFERRED SUBMITTAL
 ITEMS SHALL NOT BE INSTALLED UNTIL THE DEFERRED
 SUBMITTAL DOCUMENTS HAVE BEEN APPROVED BY THE BUILDING
 OFFICIAL.
  
 8) A TRANSMITTAL LETTER LISTING THE ORIGINAL REVIEW
 COMMENT NUMBER, WITH A DESCRIPTION OF THE REVISION
 MADE, IDENTIFYING THE SHEET OR SPECIFICATION PAGE WHERE
 THE CHANGES CAN BE FOUND WILL HELP TO EXPEDITE YOUR
 PERMIT. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ANTICIPATED COOPERATION.
  
 A THOROUGH REVIEW OF THE PLANS COULD NOT HAPPEN SINCE
 THERE WAS A GREAT DEFICIENCY IN PLANS AND REQUIRED
 DOCUMENTATION. WITH THE NEXT PLAN REVIEW CYCLE THERE
 MAYBE ADDITIONAL REVIEW COMMENTS BECAUSE OF NEW PLANS
 AND INFORMATION LACKING UNDER THE PRIOR REVIEW.
