 CODE: FBC 6TH EDITION (2017) AND CITY AMENDMENTS.
  
 NOTE:
 BUILDING REVIEW MAY BE APPROVED WITH PROVISO. PROVISO
 MEANS CONTRACTOR WILL SUBMIT REQUIRED INFORMATION AFTER
 THE PERMIT IS ISSUED BUT BEFORE INSPECTIONS TO AVOID
 CONFLICTS/DELAYS. REVISION FEES MAY APPLY. CONTRACTOR
 TO ADVICE IF PROVISO OPTION IS PREFERRED AT THIS TIME
 OR IF RE-SUBMITTING REQUIRED INFORMATION BEFORE PERMIT
 ISSUANCE.
  
  
  
  
 1- SHEET CS1.0:
 A)ACCORDING TO OCCUPANCY LOAD (88 PERSONS) SHOWN ON
 SHEET CS1, TWO EXITS ARE REQUIRED. SEC. 1006.2.1 FBC.
 LIFE SAFETY PLAN ON SAME SHEET SHOWS ONLY ONE EXIT FOR
 THE RETAIL AREA TO THE MAIN ENTRY DOORS AND ONLY ONE
 EXIT FOR THE SALES COUNTER AREA TO THE REAR DOORS. THE
 TWO EXITS OPTIONS ARE REQUIRED FOR FOR ALL THE PERSONS
 IN THIS ESTABLISHMENT. REVISE AS LIFE SAFETY PLAN AS
 REQUIRED SHOWING BOTH EXITS AVAILABLE FOR EVERYBODY.
  
 RESPONSE:
 OCCUPANT LOAD CHART AND LIFE SAFETY PLAN SUBMITTED
 DON'T REFLECT WHAT WAS SAID ON THE RESPONSE LETTER.
 PLEASE REVISE THE OCCUPANT LOAD CHART SHOWING THE
 BREAKDOWN OF THE SPACES AS EXPLAINED ON THE RESPONSE
 LETTER AND REVISE THE LIFE SAFETY PLAN SHOWING THE
 NUMBER OF PEOPLE PER ROOM. ALSO, PROVIDE A NOTE ON PLAN
 INDICATING THE POSTING OF THE OCCUPANT LOAD PER ROOM AS
 REQUIRED BY SEC. 1004.3 FBC-BUILDING.
  
 B)CLARIFY HOW EGRESS THROUGH THE SALES COUNTER AREA
 FROM THE RETAIL AREA IS GOING TO BE ACHIEVED SINCE THE
 DOORS LEADING TO THIS AREA SEEM TO BE LOCKED. SEC.
 1016.2 FBC DOESN'T ALLOW EGRESS THROUGH INTERVENING
 SPACES THAT CAN BE LOCKED.
  
 RESPONSE:
 DOOR SCHEDULE AND DOOR HARDWARE SCHEDULE SOWN ON SHEET
 A2.0 WERE REVISED AND ARE CONFUSING. DOOR & SECURITY
 SCHEDULE, DOOR HARDWARE SCHEDULE AND FLOOR PLAN SHOWING
 ALL THE DOORS NEED TO BE COORDINATED. FOR EXAMPLE WHERE
 IS HARDWARE SET #3.1. DOOR HARDWARE SCHEDULE SHOW TWO
 SINGLE DOORS #EX-02 WITH DIFFERENT HARDWARE #. PROVIDE
 FLOOR PLAN SHOWING ALL THE DOOR PROPERLY NUMBERED AND
 MATCHING THE DOOR SCHEDULE.
 ALSO, THERE ARE NO NOTES SPECIFYING ADA THRESHOLDS AT
 THE ENTRY AND EXIT DOORS.
  
 C)OK. THIS WILL BE COORDINATED WITH ITEM #1A ABOVE.
  
 2- BASED ON THE REQUIRED NUMBER OF EXITS REQUIRED BY
 THE OCCUPANT LOAD SHOWN ON SHEET CS1.O BOTH EXITS NEED
 TO BE ACCESSIBLE MEANS OF EGRESS. PROVIDE DETAILS AND
 SPECIFICATIONS SHOWING HOW THE REAR EXIT COMPLIES WITH
 THE ACCESSIBLE MEANS OF EGRESS. SEC. 1012.8 FBC
 EXISTING BUILDING. SEC. 207 FBC-ACCESSIBILITY AND SEC.
 1007.1 2003 INTERNATIONAL BUILDING CODE.
  
 RESPONSE:
 RAMP SHOWN BY THE REAR EGRESS DOORS SHOWN ON THE LIFE
 SAFETY NEEDS TO SHOW THE HANDRAIL REQUIRED BY SEC.
 405.8 FBC-ACCESSIBILITY AND THE RAMP EDGE PROTECTION AS
 REQUIRED BY SEC. 405.9 FBC-ACCESSIBILITY.
  
 3- CLARIFY BUILDING USE SHOWN ON THE BUILDING CODE
 INFORMATION: THIS IS NOT ALTERATION LEVEL 2. ACCORDING
 TO SEC. 506 FBC-EXISTING BUILDING THIS IS A CHANGE OF
 OCCUPANCY. THE BUILDING IS CURRENTLY USED AS BUSINESS
 OCCUPANCY. REVISE AS REQUIRED.
  
 RESPONSE:
 THIS IS NOT ALTERATION LEVEL 2. THIS IS AN ALTERATION
 LEVEL 3 (THE WORK AREA EXCEEDS 50 PERCENT OF THE
 BUILDING AREA) AND THIS IS A CHANGE OF OCCUPANCY FROM
 BUSINESS TO MERCANTILE.
 ALSO, NON-SEPARATED OCCUPANCIES IS SEC. 508.3
 FBC-BUILDING NOT SEC. 508.4.
  
  
 4- OK. THE 18" MIN. ON PULL SIDE TO BE VERIFIED IN THE
 FIELD.
  
 5- OK.
  
 6- PLEASE NOTE THAT SUBMITTAL OF ADDITIONAL AND/OR
 REVISED MATERIALS MAY RESULT IN NEW PLAN REVIEW
 COMMENTS.

 TRANSMITTAL LETTER LISTING THE ORIGINAL REVIEW COMMENT
 NUMBER, WITH A DESCRIPTION OF THE REVISION MADE,

 CHANGES CAN BE FOUND WILL HELP TO EXPEDITE YOUR PERMIT.
