 RESIDENTIAL (R2) FLOORING, THIRD BUILDING REVIEW
 COMMENTS
 CODE: FBC 6TH EDITION (2017) AND CITY AMENDMENTS.
  
  
 1- NOW WE KNOW FOR SURE THAT THE BUILDING HAS 6"
 CONCRETE SLABS AND COPY OF THE TEST FOR THE FLAME AND
 SMOKE SPREAD SUBMITTED IS OK. IT SHOWS THAT THE TEST
 WAS DONE ON WOOD FLOORING WHICH IS THE PROPOSED FINISH
 FLOORING.
 BUT, WE STILL NEED COPIES OF THE STC (SOUND
 TRANSMISSION) AND IIC (IMPACT SOUND TRANSMISSION) TESTS
 DONE WITH WOOD FLOORING . THE TESTS SUBMITTED ARE FOR
 PORCELAIN TILE.

 FLOORING UNDERLAYMENT
 1- SOUND INSULATION MATERIAL SUBMITTED:
 A) PROVIDE 2 COPIES OF THE FLAME SPREAD INDEX AND SMOKE
 DEVELOPED INDEX TEST DONE IN ACCORDANCE WITH ASTM E 84
 OR UL 723 AS REQUIRED BY SEC. 720.1 OF FBC 6TH EDITION
 (2017).
  
 B) PROVIDE 2 COPIES OF THE SOUND TRANSMISSION CLASS
 (STC) TEST DONE IN ACCORDANCE WITH ASTM E 90 AS
 REQUIRED BY SEC. 1207.2 OF FBC 6TH EDITION (2017).
  
 NOTE: TEST SAMPLE TO MATCH BUILDING CONSTRUCTION. THERE
 ARE TESTS FOR 6" OR 8" CONCRETE SLABS WITH OR WITHOUT
 ACOUSTICAL CEILING.
  
 C) PROVIDE 2 COPIES OF THE IMPACT INSULATION CLASS
 (IIC) TEST DONE IN ACCORDANCE WITH ASTM E 492 AS
 REQUIRED BY SEC. 1207.3 OF FBC 6TH EDITION (2017).
  
  
 NOTE: TEST SAMPLES TO MATCH BUILDING CONSTRUCTION AND
 PROPOSED FLOOR FINISH. ALSO, THERE ARE TESTS FOR 6" OR
 8" CONCRETE SLABS WITH OR WITHOUT ACOUSTICAL CEILING.
 TYPICALLY THERE ARE NOT SUSPENDED ACOUSTICAL CEILINGS
 IN THESE BUILDINGS.
