 STAIRWAY IN ORDER TO TRAVEL TO THE EXIT DISCHARGE.
 THERE ARE OPENINGS INTO THE CORRIDOR (EXIT PASSAGEWAY)
 TO AN AHU ROOM AND TWO MAINTENANCE/ACCESS ROOMS. PLEASE
 KEEP IN MIND THAT ONCE AN OCCUPANT ENTERS AN EXIT
 STAIRWAY THE EXPECTATION IS THAT THE OCCUPANT WILL HAVE
 THE SAME PROTECTION AS PROVIDED BY THE EXIT STAIRWAY
 UNTIL THEY REACH THE EXIT DISCHARGE. THE SAME
 REQUIREMENTS FOR THE STAIRWAY WILL APPLY TO THE
 TRANSFER CORRIDOR. NO OPENINGS, PENETRATIONS OR SYSTEMS
 OTHER THAN THOSE REQUIRED AS A PART OF THE EMERGENCY
 EGRESS SYSTEM AND THOSE THAT SERVICE THE STAIRWAY ARE
 ALLOWED. THERE IS ALSO A CONCERN THAT A DOUBLE DOOR
 THAT OPENS DIRECTLY TO THE PARKING GARAGE. PLEASE
 PROVIDE A NARRATIVE THAT EXPLAINS THE RATIONALE AND
 INTENTIONS FOR THE EXIT STAIRS THAT HAVE THIS DESIGN.
 FBC 1009 THE1022.8 FBC[B] DISCHARGE IDENTIFICATION. AN
 INTERIOR EXIT STAIRWAY AND RAMP SHALL NOT CONTINUE
 BELOW ITS LEVEL OF EXIT DISCHARGE UNLESS AN APPROVED
 BARRIER IS PROVIDED AT THE LEVEL OF EXIT DISCHARGE TO
 PREVENT PERSONS FROM UNINTENTIONALLY CONTINUING INTO
 LEVELS BELOW. DIRECTIONAL EXIT SIGNS SHALL BE PROVIDED
 AS SPECIFIED IN SECTION 1011.

 REQUIRED TO HAVE A TWO HOUR FIRE RATING AND A 90 MINUTE
 FIRE RATED DOOR.
