 PALM BEACH AMENDMENTS TO THE FLORIDA BUILDING CODE,
 CHAPTER 1 ADMINISTRATION
  
 1. PERMIT APPLICATIONS SUBMITTED AFTER 12/31/17 SHALL
 BE DESIGNED UNDER THE FLORIDA BUILDING CODE 2017 6TH
 EDITION INCLUDING MECHANICAL, PLUMBING, ENERGY
 CONSERVATION AND ACCESSIBILITY. CHANGE ALL CODE
 REFERENCES THROUGHOUT THE PLANS TO REFLECT THIS UPDATE.
  
 2. PROVIDE THE BUILDING CONSTRUCTION TYPE AND IF IT IS
 SPRINKLERED OR UNSPRINKLERED FBC 602, FBC 107.2.1
  
 3. THE PREVIOUS OCCUPANCY ON RECORD IS FOR AUTO SALES
 AND SERVICE. THIS IS A CHANGE OF OCCUPANCY. SHOW ON THE
 PLANS THE OCCUPANCY CLASSIFICATION AND USE. SEE ALSO
 FBC 302 AND 306.2.
  
 A) EXISTING BUILDING CODE 506.1 SCOPE.
 CHANGE OF OCCUPANCY PROVISIONS APPLY WHERE THE ACTIVITY
 IS CLASSIFIED AS A CHANGE OF OCCUPANCY AS DEFINED IN
 CHAPTER 2.
  
 CHANGE OF OCCUPANCY A CHANGE IN THE USE OF THE BUILDING
 OR A PORTION OF A BUILDING. A CHANGE OF OCCUPANCY SHALL
 INCLUDE ANY CHANGE OF OCCUPANCY CLASSIFICATION, ANY
 CHANGE FROM ONE GROUP TO ANOTHER GROUP WITHIN AN
 OCCUPANCY CLASSIFICATION OR ANY CHANGE IN USE WITHIN A
 GROUP FOR A SPECIFIC OCCUPANCY CLASSIFICATION.
  
 EXISTING BUILDING CODE 506.2 APPLICATION. CHANGES OF
 OCCUPANCY SHALL COMPLY WITH THE PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER
 10.
 THE PROVISIONS OF THE FLORIDA BUILDING CODE, EXISTING
 BUILDING SHALL APPLY TO THE REPAIR, ALTERATION, CHANGE
 OF OCCUPANCY, ADDITION AND RELOCATION OF EXISTING
 BUILDINGS.
  
 B) CHANGE OF OCCUPANCY SHALL COMPLY WITH THE ENERGY
 CONSERVATION CODE.
  
 4. FRAMING.
  
 A) HEADER AND JACK STUDS NOT SHOWN. SHOW COMPLIANCE
 WITH TABLE 2308.4.1.1(1)
  
 B) SHOW FRAMING DETAIL FOR LOUVER OPENING AT REAR OF
 BUILDING.
  
 5. PROVIDE TWO LAYERS OF A WATER RESISTIVE BARRIER OVER
 WALL SHEATHING.
  
 FBC 2510.6 WATER-RESISTIVE BARRIERS.
 WATER-RESISTIVE BARRIERS SHALL BE INSTALLED AS REQUIRED
 IN SECTION 1404.2 AND, WHERE APPLIED OVER WOOD-BASED
 SHEATHING, SHALL INCLUDE A WATER-RESISTIVE
 VAPOR-PERMEABLE BARRIER WITH A PERFORMANCE AT LEAST
 EQUIVALENT TO TWO LAYERS OF WATER-RESISTIVE BARRIER
 COMPLYING WITH ASTM E2556, TYPE I. THE INDIVIDUAL
 LAYERS SHALL BE INSTALLED INDEPENDENTLY SUCH THAT EACH
 LAYER PROVIDES A SEPARATE CONTINUOUS PLANE AND ANY
 FLASHING (INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 1405.4)
 INTENDED TO DRAIN TO THE WATER-RESISTIVE BARRIER IS
 DIRECTED BETWEEN THE LAYERS.
  
 6. PROVIDE PRODUCT APPROVALS FOR AIR INTAKE VENT.
  
 FBC 107.3.4 - PROVIDE PRODUCT APPROVALS FOR THOSE
 PRODUCTS WHICH ARE REGULATED BY FAC RULE 9N-3 REVIEWED
 AND APPROVED IN WRITING BY THE DESIGNER OF RECORD.
  
 7. PROVIDE SPECIFICATIONS FOR OVENS. FBC 107.2.1
  
 8. PERMIT VALUE IS TOO LOW.
  
 VALUATION
  
 FBC 109.3 BUILDING PERMIT VALUATIONS. IF, IN THE
 OPINION OF THE BUILDING OFFICIAL, THE CLAIMED VALUATION
 OF BUILDING, ALTERATION, STRUCTURE, ELECTRICAL, GAS,
 MECHANICAL OR PLUMBING SYSTEMS APPEARS TO BE
 UNDERESTIMATED ON THE APPLICATION, THE PERMIT SHALL BE
 DENIED, UNLESS THE APPLICANT CAN SHOW DETAILED,
 QUANTITY ESTIMATES, AND/OR BONA FIDE SIGNED CONTRACTS
 (EXCLUDING LAND VALUE) TO MEET THE APPROVAL OF THE
 BUILDING OFFICIAL. FOR PERMITTING PURPOSES, VALUATION
 OF BUILDINGS AND SYSTEMS SHALL BE TOTAL REPLACEMENT
 VALUE TO INCLUDE STRUCTURAL, ELECTRIC, PLUMBING,
 MECHANICAL, INTERIOR FINISH, RELATIVE SITE WORK,
 ARCHITECTURAL AND DESIGN FEES, MARKETING COSTS,
 OVERHEAD AND PROFIT; EXCLUDING ONLY LAND VALUE.
 VALUATION REFERENCES MAY INCLUDE THE LATEST PUBLISHED
 DATA OF NATIONAL CONSTRUCTION COST ANALYSIS SERVICES
 (MARSHALL-SWIFT, MEANS, ETC.), AS PUBLISHED BY
 INTERNATIONAL CODE CONGRESS.
 FINAL BUILDING PERMIT VALUATION SHALL BE SET BY THE
 BUILDING OFFICIAL.
  
 9. IMPACT FEES
  
 BEFORE A PERMIT TO CONSTRUCT CAN BE ISSUED, IMPACT
 FEES, REQUIRED BY PALM BEACH COUNTY, SHALL BE PAID.
 UPON FINAL APPROVAL OF PLANS, ONE SET OF PLANS SHALL BE
 SIGNED OUT AND SUBMITTED TO PALM BEACH COUNTY FOR AN
 IMPACT FEE REVIEW. THE PLANS WITH THE IMPACT FEE STAMP
 AND A COPY OF THE PAID RECEIPT MUST BE RETURNED TO THE
 CITY BUILDING DEPARTMENT BEFORE THE BUILDING PERMIT CAN
 BE ISSUED. FOR INFORMATION CALL PALM BEACH COUNTY

 *VOID*. PLEASE KEEP BOTH SETS OF OLD VOIDED SHEETS IN
 THE PERMIT PACKAGE.
