 2014 EXISTING BUILDING CODE LEVEL II 701.3 COMPLIANCE.
 ALL NEW CONSTRUCTION ELEMENTS, COMPONENTS, SYSTEMS, AND
 SPACES SHALL COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE
 FLORIDA BUILDING CODE, BUILDING.

 1) SHEET A1.03 SHOWS IN THE COMMON AREA RESTROOMS A
 LEVEL 1 ALTERATION. THE 2014 FBC-EXISTING BUILDING CODE
 705.1 REQUIRES THE COMPLIANCE WITH FLORIDA
 ACCESSIBILITY CODE. THE PLANS SHOW THAT NEITHER
 ENTRANCE INTO THE RESTROOMS HAVE THE REQUIRED 18 INCHES
 MANEUVERING CLEARANCES ON THE INSIDE LATCH SIDE OF THE
 DOOR.
  
 ACCESS. CODE 404.2.4 MANEUVERING CLEARANCES. MINIMUM
 MANEUVERING CLEARANCES AT DOORS AND GATES SHALL COMPLY
 WITH 404.2.4. MANEUVERING CLEARANCES SHALL EXTEND THE
 FULL WIDTH OF THE DOORWAY AND THE REQUIRED LATCH SIDE
 OR HINGE SIDE CLEARANCE.
  
 THE PERMIT APPLICATION STATES THE REMODELING VALUE FOR
 THE RESTROOMS IS $75.00 DOLLARS. THE ACCESSIBILITY CODE
 CAN REQUIRE UP TO 20% OF THE CONTRACT VALUE OR
 $15,000.00 IN ACCESSIBLE UPGRADES. THE UPGRADES ARE TO
 START WITH THE ENTRANCE SEE THE ORDER IN WHICH THE
 MONIES ARE TO BE SPENT.
  
 202.4.2 ACCESSIBLE FEATURES IN THE EVENT OF
 DISPROPORTIONALITY. WHEN THE COST OF ALTERATIONS
 NECESSARY TO MAKE THE PATH OF TRAVEL TO THE ALTERED
 AREA FULLY ACCESSIBLE IS DISPROPORTIONATE TO THE COST
 OF THE OVERALL ALTERATION, THE PATH OF TRAVEL SHALL BE
 MADE ACCESSIBLE TO THE EXTENT THAT IT CAN BE MADE
 ACCESSIBLE WITHOUT INCURRING DISPROPORTIONATE COSTS. IN
 CHOOSING WHICH ACCESSIBLE ELEMENTS TO PROVIDE, PRIORITY
 SHOULD BE GIVEN TO THOSE ELEMENTS THAT WILL PROVIDE THE
 GREATEST ACCESS, IN THE FOLLOWING ORDER: (I) AN
 ACCESSIBLE ENTRANCE; (II) AN ACCESSIBLE ROUTE TO THE
 ALTERED AREA; (III) AT LEAST ONE ACCESSIBLE RESTROOM
 FOR EACH SEX OR A SINGLE UNISEX RESTROOM; (IV)
 ACCESSIBLE TELEPHONES; (V) ACCESSIBLE DRINKING
 FOUNTAINS; AND (VI) WHEN POSSIBLE, ADDITIONAL
 ACCESSIBLE ELEMENTS SUCH AS PARKING, STORAGE, AND
 ALARMS.
  
 TO MAKE THE RESTROOM DOORS ACCESSIBLE THE USE OF
 AUTOMATIC AND POWER ASSISTED DOORS WOULD BE ONE WAY TO
 COMPLY WITH: 2014 FBC-ACCESSIBILITY CODE SECTION 404.3
 AUTOMATIC AND POWER-ASSISTED DOORS AND GATES.
 AUTOMATIC DOORS AND AUTOMATIC GATES SHALL COMPLY WITH
 404.3. FULL-POWERED AUTOMATIC DOORS SHALL COMPLY WITH
 ANSI/BHMA A156.10 (INCORPORATED BY REFERENCE, SEE
 ?REFERENCED STANDARDS? IN CHAPTER 1). LOW-ENERGY AND
 POWER-ASSISTED DOORS SHALL COMPLY WITH ANSI/BHMA
 A156.19 (1997 OR 2002 EDITION) (INCORPORATED BY
 REFERENCE, SEE ?REFERENCED STANDARDS? IN CHAPTER 1).
