 FBC A FAIR HOUSING CHAPTER, THIS PROJECT IS SUBJECT TO
 FAIR HOUSING REQUIREMENTS.
  
 1. SHEET A2-90-11C. REVISE PLAN TO CLARIFY CLEAR
 OPENING WIDTH FOR THE NEW DOORS. FAIR HOUSING REQUIRES
 A CLEAR WIDTH OF 32 INCHES. 2014 FBC- ACCESSIBILITY/
 FAIR HOUSING SECTION 100.205.(C)(2)(2).
  
 FOR POCKET DOORS - IF THE CLEAR OPENING WIDTH IS 32" OR
 LESS WITH THE DOOR IN THE FULLY RECESSED POSITION, IT
 APPEARS THAT THIS DOES NOT PROVIDE SOMEONE WHO NEEDS
 ACCESSIBLE HARDWARE THE ABILITY TO USE THE DOOR AND
 MAINTAIN THE 32" CLEARANCE (SEE USABLE DOORS, FIGURE
 1). IF SUCH HARDWARE IS AVAILABLE AND USABLE WITH THE
 DOOR IN THE FULLY OPEN POSITION, PLEASE SEND
 INFORMATION VIA EMAIL FOR PRELIMINARY REVIEW.
  
 PER BUILDING OFFICIAL: IF A POCKET DOOR CAN BE
 RETROFITTED WITH A SWING DOOR WHICH COMPLIES WITH THE
 32" CLEARANCE, AND A SWING DOOR CAN BE INSTALLED IN THE
 FUTURE IN THAT LOCATION (ENOUGH SPACE), THAT OPTION
 WOULD BE ACCEPTED. THE INTENT IS THAT AN OCCUPANT HAS
 AN ACCESSIBLE ROUTE THROUGHOUT THE UNIT WITHOUT MAJOR
 CONSTRUCTION (MOVING WALLS, REFRAMING DOOR OPENINGS).
 IF A POCKET DOOR CAN BE ADAPTED WITH A DOOR CHANGE,
 THAT IS ACCEPTABLE. IF YOU WISH TO DISCUSS, PLEASE FEEL
 FREE TO CONTACT ME.
  
 IF ANY OF THE REVISED DOORS ARE EXEMPT BECAUSE IT IS A
 SHALLOW CLOSET, REVISE TO SHOW DEPTH. THE FAIR HOUSING
 ACT DESIGN MANUAL RECOMMENDS A MAXIMUM OF 18" DEPTH. IF
 A DOOR WHICH DOES NOT HAVE 32" CLEARANCE IS PROPOSED
 FOR A CLOSET DEEPER THAN 18", PLEASE PROVIDE RATIONALE
 VIA EMAIL.
  
 2. SHEET A6.69-11C, CLARIFY CLEAR OPENING FOR THE
 SLIDING GLASS DOOR. PROVIDE A DETAIL WHICH SHOWS THE
 HARDWARE DISTANCE FROM DOOR EDGE.
  
 3. REVISE PLAN TO SHOW CLEARANCE AND CLEAR FLOOR SPACE
 IN THE KITCHEN, FBC A FAIR HOUSING 100.205(C)(3)(IV)
 GUIDELINE (1), 40" CLEARANCE AND CLEAR FLOOR SPACE. IT
 IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THIS WAS SHOWN ON THE BUILDING
 PLANS BUT THIS PLAN INDICATES THAT THE KITCHEN IS BEING
 RECONFIGURED.
  
 4. IF ANY OF THESE ISSUES HAVE ALREADY BEEN ADDRESSED
 ON THE MASTER, PLEASE SEND THE PAGE NUMBER VIA EMAIL
 AND A RE-REVIEW WILL BE DONE.

 5. PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING TEST REPORTS FOR THE FLOORING
 UNDERLAYMENT:
  
 A. FBC 1207.2, FLOOR/CEILING ASSEMBLIES SEPARATING
 DWELLING UNITS FROM EACH OTHER OR FROM PUBLIC OR
 SERVICE AREAS SHALL HAVE A SOUND TRANSMISSION CLASS
 (STC) OF NOT LESS THAN 50 (45 IF FIELD TESTED) FOR AIR
 BORNE NOISE WHEN TESTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH ASTM E 90.
 THE TEST REPORT CANNOT INCLUDE A DROPPED GYPSUM
 CEILING. PROVIDE A COPY OF THE TEST REPORT.
  
 B. FBC 1207.3, FLOOR/CEILING ASSEMBLIES BETWEEN
 DWELLING UNITS OR BETWEEN A DWELLING UNIT AND A PUBLIC
 OR SERVICE AREA WITHIN THE STRUCTURE SHALL HAVE AN
 IMPACT INSULATION CLASS (IIC) RATING OF NOT LESS THAN
 50 (45 IF FIELD TESTED) WHEN TESTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH
 ASTM E 492. THE TEST REPORT CANNOT INCLUDE A DROPPED
 GYPSUM CEILING. PROVIDE A COPY OF THE TEST REPORT.
  
 C. FBC 603.1, ALLOWABLE MATERIALS IN NON COMBUSTIBLE
 BUILDINGS, SEE ITEM 2, EXCEPTION 2, ACOUSTICAL
 INSULATION INSTALLED BETWEEN A FINISHED FLOOR AND SOLID
 DECKING WITHOUT INTERVENING AIRSPACE SHALL BE ALLOWED
 TO HAVE A FLAME SPREAD INDEX OF NOT MORE THAN 200. SEE
 803.1.1, PROVIDE TEST DATA IN ACCORDANCE WITH ASTM E 84
 OR UL 723.
