 ADMINISTRATION
  
 2014 EXISTING BUILDING CODE LEVEL II 701.3 COMPLIANCE.
 ALL NEW CONSTRUCTION ELEMENTS, COMPONENTS, SYSTEMS, AND
 SPACES SHALL COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE
 FLORIDA BUILDING CODE, BUILDING.

 1) SHEET 2 THE LIFE SAFETY SHEET:
  
 1A) THE PLANS INDICATE THE EXISTING COMMUNITY CORRIDOR
 IS TO BE ONE HOUR RATED (FBC-B TABLE 1018.1), PLEASE
 PROVIDE COMPLIANCE WITH 2014 FBC-B 703.7 MARKING AND
 IDENTIFICATION.
 FIRE WALLS, FIRE BARRIERS, FIRE PARTITIONS, SMOKE
 BARRIERS AND SMOKE PARTITIONS OR ANY OTHER WALL
 REQUIRED TO HAVE PROTECTED OPENINGS OR PENETRATIONS
 SHALL BE EFFECTIVELY AND PERMANENTLY IDENTIFIED WITH
 SIGNS OR STENCILING. SUCH IDENTIFICATION SHALL:
 1. BE LOCATED IN ACCESSIBLE CONCEALED FLOOR,
 FLOOR-CEILING OR ATTIC SPACES;
 2. BE LOCATED WITHIN 15 FEET OF THE END OF EACH WALL
 AND AT INTERVALS NOT EXCEEDING 30 FEET MEASURED
 HORIZONTALLY ALONG THE WALL OR PARTITION; AND
 3. INCLUDE LETTERING NOT LESS THAN 3 INCHES (76 MM ) IN
 HEIGHT WITH A MINIMUM 3/8 INCH (9.5 MM)
 STROKE IN A CONTRASTING COLOR INCORPORATING THE
 SUGGESTED WORDING. ?FIRE AND/OR SMOKE
 BARRIER?PROTECT ALL OPENINGS? OR OTHER WORDING.
  
 1B) PLEASE PROVIDE THE FIRE RATING OF THE EXISTING
 CORRIDOR DOORS, NOT GIVEN ON THE LIFE SAFETY PLAN?
 107.2.1.3./ FBC-B TABLE 716.5.
  
 2) THE MECHANICAL SHEET 1 PLEASE SEE AH UNIT # 5 IS
 ILLUSTRATED BEING INSTALLED IN THE FIRE RATED CORRIDOR
 WALL, PLEASE PROVIDE HOW THE FIRE RATING OF THIS 1 HOUR
 FIRE RATED CORRIDOR WALL WILL BE MAINTAINED.
 FBC-B 1018.6 CORRIDOR CONTINUITY. FIRE-RESISTANCE-RATED
 CORRIDORS SHALL BE CONTINUOUS FROM THE POINT OF ENTRY
 TO AN EXIT, AND SHALL NOT BE INTERRUPTED BY INTERVENING
 ROOMS. WHERE THE PATH OF EGRESS TRAVEL WITHIN A
 FIRE-RESISTANCE-RATED CORRIDOR TO THE EXIT INCLUDES
 TRAVEL ALONG UNENCLOSED EXIT ACCESS STAIRWAYS OR RAMPS,
 THE FIRE RESISTANCE-RATING SHALL BE CONTINUOUS FOR THE
 LENGTH OF THE STAIRWAY OR RAMP AND FOR THE LENGTH OF
 THE CONNECTING CORRIDOR ON THE ADJACENT FLOOR LEADING
 TO THE EXIT.
  
 3) SHEET 2 THE LIFE SAFETY PLAN ILLUSTRATES A
 CONFERENCE ROOM BUT DOES NOT STATE THE OCCUPANT LOAD OF
 THIS ROOM NOR IS THERE A FURNITURE LAYOUT INDICATING
 HOW MANY OCCUPANTS ARE TO BE IN THIS ROOM. THE ISSUE IS
 THERE ARE 4 SLIDING DOORS IN THIS ROOM(FBC-B 1008.1.2
 DOOR SWING) EGRESS DOORS ARE TO BE PIVOT OR SIDE
 SWINGING THE EXCEPTION 1 CAN BE USED FOR OFFICE AREAS
 WITH AN OCCUPANT LOAD OF 10 OR LESS. PLEASE PROVIDE THE
 OCCUPANT LOAD FOR THIS ROOM?
  
 4) SHEET 2 THE LIFE SAFETY PLAN SHOWS A NEW KITCHEN,
 NOT A BREAK ROOM BUT KITCHEN. PLEASE PROVIDE ELEVATIONS
 OF THE CABINETRY WHERE THE SINK IS LOCATED. PLEASE
 PROVIDE COMPLIANCE WITH SECTION 606.3 OF THE ACCESS.
 CODE. 606.3 HEIGHT.
 LAVATORIES AND SINKS SHALL BE INSTALLED WITH THE FRONT
 OF THE HIGHER OF THE RIM OR COUNTER SURFACE 34 INCHES
 MAXIMUM ABOVE THE FINISH FLOOR OR GROUND.
  
 5) SHEET 2 THE LIFE SAFETY PLAN SHOWS A SINGLE DRINKING
 FOUNTAIN PLEASE PROVIDE COMPLIANCE WITH 2014 ACCESS.
 CODE 211.2 MINIMUM NUMBER. NO FEWER THAN TWO DRINKING
 FOUNTAINS SHALL BE PROVIDED. ONE DRINKING FOUNTAIN
 SHALL COMPLY WITH 602.1 THROUGH 602.6 AND ONE DRINKING
 FOUNTAIN SHALL COMPLY WITH 602.7.
  
 202.4.2 ACCESSIBLE FEATURES IN THE EVENT OF
 DISPROPORTIONALITY. WHEN THE COST OF ALTERATIONS
 NECESSARY TO MAKE THE PATH OF TRAVEL TO THE ALTERED
 AREA FULLY ACCESSIBLE IS DISPROPORTIONATE TO THE COST
 OF THE OVERALL ALTERATION, THE PATH OF TRAVEL SHALL BE
 MADE ACCESSIBLE TO THE EXTENT THAT IT CAN BE MADE
 ACCESSIBLE WITHOUT INCURRING DISPROPORTIONATE COSTS. IN
 CHOOSING WHICH ACCESSIBLE ELEMENTS TO PROVIDE, PRIORITY
 SHOULD BE GIVEN TO THOSE ELEMENTS THAT WILL PROVIDE THE
 GREATEST ACCESS, IN THE FOLLOWING ORDER: (I) AN
 ACCESSIBLE ENTRANCE; (II) AN ACCESSIBLE ROUTE TO THE
 ALTERED AREA; (III) AT LEAST ONE ACCESSIBLE RESTROOM
 FOR EACH SEX OR A SINGLE UNISEX RESTROOM; (IV)
 ACCESSIBLE TELEPHONES; (V) ACCESSIBLE DRINKING
 FOUNTAINS; AND (VI) WHEN POSSIBLE, ADDITIONAL
 ACCESSIBLE ELEMENTS SUCH AS PARKING, STORAGE, AND
 ALARMS.
  
 6) SHEET 1 SHOWS A NEW 3-0X6-8 EXTERIOR DOOR. THE PLANS
 DO NOT INDICATE IF THERE IS AN EXTERIOR WALL THAT IS
 BEING REMOVED TO CREATE THE NEW DOOR OPENING? 107.2.1.3
 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION IS REQUIRED.
  
 7) PLEASE PROVIDE PRODUCT APPROVAL FOR THE NEW EXTERIOR
 DOOR. 2014 FBC-B 1609.1.2 PROTECTION OF OPENINGS,
 1609.6.4.4.1 COMPONENTS & CLADDING. FLORIDA DEPARTMENT
 OF COMMUNITY AFFAIRS, ADMINISTRATIVE CODE 61G20-3.005,
 RULE 9N-3 NOV. 01/ 2010 (31) SUB-CATEGORY OF PRODUCTS
 OR CONSTRUCTION SYSTEMS THAT WILL REQUIRE PRODUCT
 APPROVALS:
 (31)(A) EXTERIOR DOORS.
  
 8) FBC 107.3.4.1 PRODUCT APPROVALS. THOSE PRODUCTS
 WHICH ARE REGULATED BY THE DCA RULE 9N-03 SHALL BE
 REVIEWED AND APPROVED IN WRITING BY THE DESIGNER OF
 RECORD PRIOR TO SUBMITTAL FOR JURISDICTIONAL APPROVAL.
 FL 61G1-23.015 (2) THE ARCHITECT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR
 SUPERVISING AND REVIEWING ALL PROJECT DATA, REPORTS,
 SHOP DRAWINGS ETC..
  
 9) WHEN RESUBMITTING PLANS PLEASE INDICATE THE REVISION
 & REMOVE ANY VOIDED SHEETS & REPLACE ANY PAGES AS
 NECESSARY, COLLATE AND STAPLE INTO SETS OF PLANS. A
 TRANSMITTAL LETTER LISTING THE ORIGINAL REVIEW COMMENT
 NUMBER, WITH A DESCRIPTION OF THE REVISION MADE,
 IDENTIFYING THE SHEET OR SPECIFICATION PAGE WHERE THE
 CHANGES CAN BE FOUND WILL HELP TO EXPEDITE YOUR PERMIT.
