 AMENDMENTS TO THE FLORIDA BUILDING CODE, CHAPTER 1,
 ADMINISTRATION
  
 2014 EXISTING BUILDING CODE LEVEL II 701.3 COMPLIANCE.
 ALL NEW CONSTRUCTION ELEMENTS, COMPONENTS, SYSTEMS, AND
 SPACES SHALL COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE
 FLORIDA BUILDING CODE, BUILDING.

 ACTION: DENIED
  
 1) THERE IS A DISCREPANCY IN THE PLANS. SHEET A3.01
 INDICATES A NEW ROOF TOP UNIT WHEREAS THE MECHANICAL
 SHEET M3.01 INDICATES THE REPLACEMENT OF (2) 6 TON ROOF
 TOP UNITS AND THE REPLACEMENT OF AN EXISTING 15 TON
 ROOF TOP UNIT. WHEN WE VIEW THIS PROPERTY WITH EITHER
 THE PALM BEACH COUNTY PROPERTY APPRAISERS AERIAL
 PICTURES, OR THE COUNTY WIDE GIS/ GOOGLE, BING OR
 PICTORIAL AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHS THERE ARE ONLY (2) ROOF
 TOP UNITS. 107.2.1.3 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REQUIRED.
 PLEASE CORRECT PLANS TO DEPICT AN ACCURATE ACCOUNTING
 OF EXISTING ROOF TOP UNITS.
  
 2) FOR THE NEW ROOF TOP UNIT, THE PLANS WILL NEED TO
 PROVIDE DETAILS FOR THE TYPE OF ROOF FRAMING, WOOD
 TRUSSES, METAL BAR JOIST AND OR CONCRETE T SYSTEM OR
 TWIN T SYSTEMS, TYPE OF ROOF DECK AND THE REQUIRED
 FRAMING AROUND THE NEW ROOF PENETRATION, AND ATTACHMENT
 OF ROOF TOP CURB TO THE ROOF FRAMING SYSTEM AS WELL AS
 THE NEW RTU TO THE CURB.
 FOR ALL ROOF TOP EQUIPMENT, CURBS OR A/C STANDS,
 DETAILED ATTACHMENT TO THE ROOF FRAMING & DECK AS WELL
 AS FROM THE CURB OR ROOF STAND TO THE EQUIPMENT ABOVE.
  
 2014 FBC-B 1604.4 ANALYSIS. LOAD EFFECTS ON STRUCTURAL
 MEMBERS AND THEIR CONNECTIONS SHALL BE DETERMINED BY
 METHODS OF STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS THAT TAKE INTO ACCOUNT
 EQUILIBRIUM, GENERAL STABILITY, GEOMETRIC COMPATIBILITY
 AND BOTH SHORT- AND LONG-TERM MATERIAL PROPERTIES.
 EVERY STRUCTURE SHALL BE DESIGNED TO RESIST THE
 OVERTURNING EFFECTS CAUSED BY THE LATERAL FORCES
 SPECIFIED IN THIS CHAPTER. SEE SECTION 1609 FOR WIND
 LOADS.
  
 3) FOR THE 2 REPLACEMENT ROOF TOP UNITS, PLEASE PROVIDE
 IF THE EXISTING CURB IS TO BE USED, IF EITHER A NEW
 CURB OR CURB ADAPTOR WILL BE REQUIRED, AND PROVIDE THE
 ANCHORING SYSTEM FOR THE CURB ADAPTOR AND THE ANCHORS
 REQUIRED TO ANCHOR THE REPLACEMENT RTU, UNITS. 2014
 FBC-B 1604.4 ANALYSIS. 2014 FBC-M- 301.15 WIND
 RESISTANCE. MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT, APPLIANCES AND
 SUPPORTS THAT ARE EXPOSED TO WIND SHALL BE DESIGNED AND
 INSTALLED TO RESIST THE WIND PRESSURES DETERMINED IN
 ACCORDANCE WITH THE FLORIDA BUILDING CODE, BUILDING.
  
 4) NEITHER THE ARCHITECTURAL SHEETS NOR MECHANICAL
 SHEETS PROVIDE THE WIND DESIGN CRITERIA FOR THE NEW
 ROOF TOP & REPLACEMENT RTU UNITS. 2014 FBC-B 1603.1.4
 WIND DESIGN DATA.
  
 5) PLEASE NOTE EXISTING ROOF TOP UNITS ARE BEING
 REPLACED AND NEW ROOF TOP UNITS, PLEASE SHOW COMPLIANCE
 WITH:
 2014 FBC-B 1013.6 MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT. GUARDS SHALL BE
 PROVIDED WHERE APPLIANCES, EQUIPMENT, FANS, ROOF HATCH
 OPENINGS OR OTHER COMPONENTS THAT REQUIRE SERVICE ARE
 LOCATED WITHIN 10 FEET (3048 MM) OF A ROOF EDGE OR OPEN
 SIDE OF A WALKING SURFACE AND SUCH EDGE OR OPEN SIDE IS
 LOCATED MORE THAN 30 INCHES (762 MM) ABOVE THE FLOOR,
 ROOF OR GRADE BELOW. THE GUARD SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED SO
 AS TO PREVENT THE PASSAGE OF A SPHERE 21 INCHES (533
 MM) IN DIAMETER. THE GUARD SHALL EXTEND NOT LESS THAN
 30 INCHES (762 MM) BEYOND EACH END OF SUCH APPLIANCE,
 EQUIPMENT, FAN OR COMPONENT.
  
 6) FBC 107.3.4.1 PRODUCT APPROVALS. THOSE PRODUCTS
 WHICH ARE REGULATED BY THE DCA RULE 9N-03 SHALL BE
 REVIEWED AND APPROVED IN WRITING BY THE DESIGNER OF
 RECORD PRIOR TO SUBMITTAL FOR JURISDICTIONAL APPROVAL.
 FL 61G1-23.015 (2) THE ARCHITECT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR
 SUPERVISING AND REVIEWING ALL PROJECT DATA, REPORTS,
 SHOP DRAWINGS ETC..
  
 7) WHEN RESUBMITTING PLANS PLEASE INDICATE THE REVISION
 & REMOVE ANY VOIDED SHEETS & REPLACE ANY PAGES AS
 NECESSARY, COLLATE AND STAPLE INTO SETS OF PLANS. A
 TRANSMITTAL LETTER LISTING THE ORIGINAL REVIEW COMMENT
 NUMBER, WITH A DESCRIPTION OF THE REVISION MADE,
 IDENTIFYING THE SHEET OR SPECIFICATION PAGE WHERE THE
 CHANGES CAN BE FOUND WILL HELP TO EXPEDITE YOUR PERMIT.
