 3. PLEASE SEE THE PRELIMINARY MAP (AVAILABLE AT FEMA
 MAP SERVICE CENTER) AND THE NEW FLOOD INSURANCE STUDY.
 A "LETTER OF FINAL DETERMINATION" WAS GIVEN FROM FEMA
 TO THE CITY IN APRIL, 2017. ALTHOUGH THE INSURANCE MAP
 (FIRM) HAS AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF OCTOBER 5, 2017, THE
 DATA IN THE FLOOD INSURANCE STUDY (FIS), IN CONJUCTION
 WITH THE FLOOD INSURANCE RATE MAP (FIRM) IS CONSIDERED
 DATA WHICH SHOULD BE USED TO DETERMINE DESIGN FLOOD
 ELEVATION FOR CONSTRUCTION PURPOSES.
  
 PLEASE SEE PRELIMINARY FLOOD INSURANCE RATE MAP PANEL
 12099C0591F. THIS PARCEL IS LOCATED IN SFHA AE. ON THE
 FIRM, THE EASTERN PORTION OF THE PARCEL HAS A BFE OF
 7.0 NAVD88. THE WESTERN PORTION OF THE PARCEL HAS A BFE
 OF 6.0. THE STRUCTURE PROPOSED APPEARS TO BE IN BOTH.
  
 SEE FIRM "NOTES TO USERS" - THE FLOOD INSURANCE STUDY
 IS TO BE USED (IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE FIRM) TO
 DETERMINE THE BFE.
  
 POTTER ROAD IS LOCATED BETWEEN TRANSECTS 12 AND 13.
 THEREFORE, PLEASE CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING DATA TO
 DETERMINE THE BFE:
  
 TRANSECT 12, STILLWATER 1%: 5.7' NAVD88 WAVE CREST 1%:
 7.8' NAVD88
 TRANSECT 13, STILLWATER 1%: 5.8' NAVD88 WAVE CREST 1%:
 7.3' NAVD88
  
 THE PROPOSED FINISHED FLOOR OF 8' NGVD29 IS LOWER THAN
 THE 1% CHANGE OF FLOOD. ALTHOUGH A FREEBOARD IS NOT
 REQUIRED AT THIS TIME, A 1-2' FREEBOARD IS ENCOURAGED
 AS GOOD DESIGN PRACTICE. NOTE THAT ASCE24 (WHICH IS NOT
 REQUIRED FOR THIS PROJECT) REQUIRES A MINIMUM 1'
 FREEBOARD.
  
 PLEASE CONSIDER CONTACTING YOUR INSURANCE AGENT BEFORE
 MAKING A DECISION REGARDING FREEBOARD. PLEASE ALSO
 CONSIDER CONTACTING A SURVEYOR (OR OTHER PROFESSIONAL)
 REGARDING THE PROCESS TO OBTAIN A LOMR AFTER
 CONSTRUCTION. THIS INFORMATION MAY PROVIDE APPLICANT
 WITH INFORMATION USEFUL TO DETERMINE A DESIGN FLOOD
 ELEVATION.
