 ALL NEW CONSTRUCTION ELEMENTS, COMPONENTS, SYSTEMS, AND
 SPACES SHALL COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE
 FLORIDA BUILDING CODE, BUILDING.

 1) THE LIFE SAFETY PLAN:
 1A) LIST THE 2014 FLORIDA BUILDING CODE, EXISTING
 BUILDING CODE PLEASE ADD THE CHAPTER 11 FOR ADDITIONS.
  
 1B) IN THE 2014 FBC-EXISTING BUILDING CODE SECTION
 1103.3.1 DEALS WITH VERTICAL ADDITIONS, PLEASE PROVIDE
 THAT THE EXISTING BUILDING WILL MEET THE WIND
 PROVISIONS OF THE FLORIDA BUILDING CODE BUILDING IN
 SECTION 1609. PLEASE PROVIDE DOCUMENTATION THAT THE
 VERTICAL ADDITION WILL NOT CREATE A NONCONFORMITY TO
 THE FOUNDATION, THAT IT WILL ACCEPT THE ADDITIONAL
 LOADING OF THE 2ND STORY ADDITION. 2014 EXISTING
 BUILDING CODE 1101.2 CREATION OR EXTENSION OF
 NONCONFORMITY.
  
 1C) THE CONSTRUCTION TYPE IS LISTED AS CONSTRUCTION
 TYPE: IIB. THE 2014 FBC-B SECTION 603.1(1.3) ROOF
 CONSTRUCTION, INCLUDING GIRDERS, TRUSSES, FRAMING AND
 DECKING TO BE FIRE RETARDANT TREATED WOOD. NEITHER
 SHEETS A.6, A.7, S.2 NOR S.3 IDENTIFY THE TRUSS
 MATERIAL THE DECKING MATERIAL IS CALLED OUT AS 5/8 INCH
 CDX PLYWOOD. PLEASE UPDATE THE PLANS. THE SHEET A.6
 INDICATES WOOD STRINGERS.
  
 1D) THE LIFE SAFETY SHEET DOES NOT LIST THE COMMON PATH
 OF TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS OF TABLE 1014.3 OF THE 2014
 FBC-B NOR THE MEASURING OF TRAVEL DISTANCE MEASUREMENTS
 SHALL BE MADE ON A PLANE PARALLEL AND TANGENT TO THE
 STAIR TREAD NOSING IN THE CENTER OF THE STAIR AND
 LANDING. PLEASE PROVIDE THE MEASUREMENTS FROM THE
 FURTHEST POINTS ON THE 2ND FLOOR.
  
 1E) THE LIFE SAFETY PLAN INFORMATION LACKS INFORMATION
 IN REGARDS TO THE REQUIRED AREA OF REFUGE FOR 2ND STORY
 BUILDINGS THAT ARE NOT FIRE SPRINKLERED. PLEASE REVIEW
 THE 2014 ACCESSIBILITY CODE 207.1 MAKES REFERENCE TO
 THE 2003 IBC SECTION 1007. PLEASE REVIEW ALL OF THE
 REQUIREMENTS FOR AN AREA OF REFUGE:
 1007.3 SEE EXCEPTIONS. 48 INCHES IS REQUIRED BETWEEN
 HANDRAILS .
  
 1007.4 ELEVATORS. 1007.5 PLATFORM LIFTS.
  
 1007.6.2 SEPARATION , EACH AREA OF REFUGE SHALL BE
 SEPARATED FROM THE REMAINDER OF THE STORY BY A SMOKE
 BARRIER COMPLYING WITH 709. EACH AREA OF REFUGE SHALL
 BE DESIGNED TO MINIMIZE THE INTRUSION OF SMOKE. PLEASE
 NOTE THIS STAIRWAY IS NOT DESIGNED AS AN EXIT STAIR
 WITH AN ENCLOSED SHAFT BUT AS A EXIT ACCESS STAIRWELL
 WITH THE BOTTOM PORTION THAT WILL ALLOW SMOKE TO GATHER
 IN THE UPPERMOST PORTIONS OF THE STAIRWELL WHERE THE
 AREA OF REFUGE IS LOCATED.
  
 AREA OF REFUGE. 2003 IBC-B 1007.6 .3 TWO-WAY
 COMMUNICATION. AREAS OF REFUGE SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH
 TWO-WAY COMMUNICATION SYSTEM BETWEEN THE AREA OF REFUGE
 AND A CONTROL POINT. IF THE CENTRAL CONTROL POINT IS
 NOT CONSTANTLY ATTENDED, THE AREA OF REFUGE SHALL ALSO
 HAVE CONTROLLED ACCESS TO A PUBLIC TELEPHONE SYSTEM.
 LOCATION OF THE CENTRAL CONTROL POINT SHALL BE APPROVED
 BY THE FIRE DEPARTMENT. TWO-WAY COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
 SHALL INCLUDE BOTH AUDIBLE AND VISIBLE SIGNALS.
  
 1007.6.4 INSTRUCTIONS. IN AREAS OF REFUGE THAT HAVE A
 TWO-WAY EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM, INSTRUCTIONS
 ON THE USE OF THE AREA UNDER EMERGENCY CONDITIONS SHALL
 BE POSTED ADJOINING THE COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM. THE
 INSTRUCTIONS SHALL INCLUDE ALL OF THE FOLLOWING;
 1) DIRECTIONS TO FIND OTHER MEANS OF EGRESS.
 2) PERSONS ABLE TO USE THE EXIT STAIRWAY DO SO AS SOON
 AS POSSIBLE, UNLESS THEY ARE ASSISTING OTHERS.
 3) INFORMATION ON THE PLANNED AVAILABILITY OF
 ASSISTANCE IN THE USE OF STAIRS OR SUPERVISED OPERATION
 OF ELEVATORS AND HOW TO SUMMON SUCH ASSISTANCE. 4)
 DIRECTIONS FOR THE USE OF THE EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS
 SYSTEM.
  
 1007.6.5 IDENTIFICATION. EACH DOOR PROVIDING ACCESS TO
 AN AREA OF REFUGE FROM AN ADJACENT FLOOR AREA SHALL BE
 IDENTIFIED BY A SIGN COMPLYING WITH ICC A117., STATING
 AREA OF REFUGE, AND INCLUDING THE INTERNATIONAL SYMBOL
 OF ACCESSIBILITY. WHERE EXIT SIGN ILLUMINATION IS
 REQUIRED BY SECTION 1011.2, THE AREA OF REFUGE SIGN
 SHALL BE ILLUMINATED. ADDITIONALLY, TACTILE SIGNAGE
 COMPLYING WITH ICC A117.1 SHALL BE LOCATED AT EACH DOOR
 TO AN AREA OF REFUGE.
  
 1007.7. SIGNAGE. AT EXITS AND ELEVATORS SERVING A
 REQUIRED ACCESSIBLE SPACE BUT NOT PROVIDING AN APPROVED
 ACCESSIBLE MEANS OF EGRESS, SIGNAGE SHALL BE INSTALLED
 INDICATING THE LOCATION OF ACCESSIBLE MEANS OF EGRESS.
  
 1F) SHEET LS.1 THE 2ND FLOOR LAYOUT, OFFICE AREAS 16
 JARETTS OFFICE, OFFICE #25 OCEAN WAY AND OFFICE AREA #
 16 OPEN SPACE. TO CONSIDER THIS AS AN OFFICE OCCUPANCY
 PLEASE PROVIDE A FURNITURE LAYOUT OTHERWISE IT WILL BE
 CONSIDERED AN A3 OCCUPANCY GROUP WHICH WILL IMPACT THE
 WHOLE 2ND STORY IN TERMS OF OCCUPANT LOADS, EGRESS
 REQUIREMENTS AND RESTROOMS. 107.2.1.3 ADDITIONAL
 INFORMATION IS REQUIRED.
  
 2) PLEASE PROVIDE DOCUMENTATION THAT THE LULA LIFT
 MEETS THE REQUIREMENTS OF ASME A17.1 AND THE REMAINDER
 OF THE REQUIREMENTS FOUND UNDER THE 2014
 FBC-ACCESSIBILITY CODE 408.2- 408.4.8.
  
 3) SHEET A.1 THE 1ST FLOOR IN THE CORRIDOR # 6 (41
 INCHES) WIDE YOU MAKE A LEFT HAND TURN INTO CORRIDOR #9
 WHICH IS 36 INCHES WIDE, WHILE THE ACCESSIBILITY CODE
 DOES NOT ADDRESS 90 DEGREE TURNS IT WOULD BE IDENTICAL
 TO GOING THROUGH DOORWAYS AND THE REQUIRED DISTANCES IT
 WOULD TAKE TO GET THROUGH THE DOOR.
 SEE FIGURE 404.2.4.1(H).
  
 4) THE CORRIDOR #9 WHICH IS ONLY 36 INCHES WIDE BOTH
 DOORS 108 & 109 BOTH BLOCK THE CORRIDOR 100%. PLEASE
 SEE SECTION 1005.7.1 OF THE 2014 FBC-B. DOORS IN ANY
 POSITION SHALL NOT REDUCE THE REQUIRED CORRIDOR WIDTH
 BY MORE THAN ONE-HALF OR IN THIS CASE 36 + 18= 54
 INCHES. PLEASE NOTE IF YOU ARE IN ROOM 110 AND GETTING
 INTO THE LULA LIFT THE CORRIDOR WIDTH WOULD AGAIN
 REQUIRE A 54 INCH CORRIDOR SEE ACCESS. CODE FIGURE
 404.2.4.1( E ).
  
 5) SHEET A. 1 THE FIRST FLOOR, ROOMS 102, 105 & 106
 PLEASE REVIEW FIGURE 404.2.4.1( F & J) BOTH WOULD
 REQUIRE A MINIMUM OF 42 INCHES FOR THE CORRIDOR # 06.
  
 6) SHEET A.1 ENTRY DOOR 102 DOES NOT HAVE THE REQUIRED
 18 INCHES ON THE PULL SIDE OF THE DOOR. SIGNAGE WILL BE
 REQUIRED INDICATING WHERE THE ACCESSIBLE ENTRY IS
 LOCATED. SEE 2014 ACCESS. CODE 216.3 DIRECTIONAL AND

 ACCESSIBLE RESTROOMS DOES NOT PROVIDE DIMENSIONS FOR
 HEIGHT OR LENGTH OF ANY OF THE ACCESSIBLE ELEMENTS,
 LAVATORIES, WATER CLOSETS, GRAB BARS AND MIRRORS.
 107.2.1.3 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REQUIRED, THE
 ACCESSIBLE ELEMENTS COULD NOT BE DETERMINED TO MEET THE
 CODE REQUIREMENTS OTHER THAN LAVATORY HEIGHT .
  
 8) SHEET A.4 THE 2ND FLOOR CEILING PLAN DOES NOT
 PROVIDE AN ACCESS TO THE ATTIC SPACE IN COMPLIANCE WITH
 THE 2014 FBC-B 1209.2.
  
 9) SHEET A.7. THE CUT SECTION THROUGH THE STRUCTURE
 SHOW THE USE OF 5 INCH X 24 INCH SCREEN VENTS @ 6
 INCHES ON CENTER. I BELIEVE THIS IS A TYPO AND SHOULD
 BE 6 FEET ON CENTER. PLEASE PROVIDE THE SQUARE FOOTAGE
 AND FORMULA FOR IF COMPLYING WITH 1/150 OR 1/300
 REQUIRING VENTILATORS IN THE UPPER PORTION OF THE ROOF.

 10) IF THIS CONSTRUCTION TYPE STAYS A CONSTRUCTION TYPE
 IIB NON-COMBUSTIBLE CONSTRUCTION THEN THIS COMMENT WILL
 NOT APPLY. THE LS.1 SHEET INDICATES THE 2ND FLOOR AREA
 TO BE 1, 380 SQ. FT. SHEETS A.6 & S.2 NEITHER SHOWS THE
 INSTALLATION OF 2ND FLOOR DRAFT STOPPING. SEE 2014
 FBC-B 718.3.3 OTHER GROUP OCCUPANCIES. IN OTHER GROUPS,
 DRAFTSTOPPING SHALL BE INSTALLED SO THAT HORIZONTAL
 FLOOR AREAS DO NOT EXCEED 1,000 SQUARE FEET (93 M2).
