 ADMINISTRATION
  
 2014 EXISTING BUILDING CODE LEVEL II 701.3 COMPLIANCE.
 ALL NEW CONSTRUCTION ELEMENTS, COMPONENTS, SYSTEMS, AND
 SPACES SHALL COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE
 FLORIDA BUILDING CODE, BUILDING.

 ACTION: DENIED
  
 1) THE COVERSHEET A100 INDICATES THE MERCANTILE
 OCCUPANCY OF 1593 SQ. FT./ 60 = 27 OCCUPANTS. PLEASE
 REVIEW THE 2014 FBC-B TABLE 1004.1.2 FOR THE GRADE
 FLOOR THE OCCUPANT LOAD IS TAKEN AT 30 SQ. FT./
 OCCUPANT. 1593/30= 54 OCCUPANTS.
  
 2) PLEASE PROVIDE WHAT THE SPACE IS BEHIND THE STORAGE
 ROOM THIS SPACE IS NOT LABELED TO USAGE IF PART OF THE
 TENANCY OR IF COMMON AREA? 107.2.1.3 ADDITIONAL
 INFORMATION IS REQUIRED.
  
 3) WITH THE OCCUPANT LOAD GREATER THAN 50 2 EXITS ARE
 REQUIRED. FOR THE SECANDARY EXIT YOU HAVE TO TTRAVEL
 THROUGH THE STORAGE ROOM. TO USE THE STORAGE ROOM AS
 THE SECONDARY EXIT SHOW COMPLIANCE WITH 2014 FBC-B
 1014.2 EGRESS THROUGH INTERVENING SPACES. EGRESS
 THROUGH INTERVENING SPACES SHALL COMPLY WITH THIS
 SECTION. 4. EGRESS SHALL NOT PASS THROUGH KITCHENS,
 STORAGE ROOMS, CLOSETS OR SPACES USED FOR SIMILAR
 PURPOSES.
 EXCEPTIONS:
 2. MEANS OF EGRESS ARE NOT PROHIBITED THROUGH
 STOCKROOMS IN GROUP M OCCUPANCIES WHEN ALL OF THE
 FOLLOWING ARE MET:
 2.1. THE STOCK IS OF THE SAME HAZARD CLASSIFICATION AS
 THAT FOUND IN THE MAIN RETAIL AREA;
 2.2. NOT MORE THAN 50 PERCENT OF THE EXIT ACCESS IS
 THROUGH THE STOCKROOM;
 2.3. THE STOCKROOM IS NOT SUBJECT TO LOCKING FROM THE
 EGRESS SIDE; AND
 2.4. THERE IS A DEMARCATED, MINIMUM 44-INCH-WIDE (1118
 MM) AISLE DEFINED BY FULL- OR PARTIAL-HEIGHT FIXED
 WALLS OR SIMILAR CONSTRUCTION THAT WILL MAINTAIN THE
 REQUIRED WIDTH AND
 LEAD DIRECTLY FROM THE RETAIL AREA TO THE EXIT WITHOUT
 OBSTRUCTIONS.
  
 4) THE PLANS DO NOT SHOW ANY DETAILS SHOWING COMPLIANCE
 WITH 2014 FBC-ACCESS. CODE 904 CHECK-OUT AND SALES
 COUNTERS FOR HEIGHT OR APPROACH.
  
 5) WHEN RESUBMITTING PLANS PLEASE INDICATE THE REVISION
 & REMOVE ANY VOIDED SHEETS & REPLACE ANY PAGES AS
 NECESSARY, COLLATE AND STAPLE INTO SETS OF PLANS. A
 TRANSMITTAL LETTER LISTING THE ORIGINAL REVIEW COMMENT
 NUMBER, WITH A DESCRIPTION OF THE REVISION MADE,
 IDENTIFYING THE SHEET OR SPECIFICATION PAGE WHERE THE
 CHANGES CAN BE FOUND WILL HELP TO EXPEDITE YOUR PERMIT.
