 REVIEW COMMENTS - FIRE DEPARTMENT
  
 1) THE ENGINEERED FIRE ALARM AND FIRE SPRINKLER
 CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS SUBMITTED DO NOT MATCH THE
 BUILDING DRAWINGS. SHOP DRAWINGS APPEAR TO BE OLDER AND
 DO NOT INCLUDE THE SAME DETAILS. PLEASE CORRECT AND
 RESUBMIT.
  
 2) ALL PARKING STRUCTURES SHALL COMPLY WITH NFPA 88A,
 PARKING STRUCTURES AND NFPA 101, THE LIFE SAFETY CODE,
 INCLUDING MORE SPECIFICALLY, CHAPTER 42 STORAGE
 OCCUPANCIES (PARKING STRUCTURES). THIS STANDARD SHALL
 COVER THE CONSTRUCTION AND PROTECTION OF, AS WELL AS
 THE CONTROL OF THE HAZARDS IN, OPEN AND ENCLOSED
 PARKING STRUCTURES.
  
 3) PER NFPA 88A, SECTION 5.3.2: ALL ENCLOSED PARKING
 STRUCTURES SHALL BE VENTILATED BY A MECHANICAL SYSTEM
 CAPABLE OF PROVIDING A MINIMUM OF 1FT3/MIN PER FT2 OF
 FLOOR AREA. MECHANICAL VENTILATING SYSTEMS SHALL BE
 INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH NFPA 90A. DUCTWORK SHALL
 BE CONSTRUCTED OF NONCOMBUSTIBLE MATERIAL.
  
 5) PLEASE PROVIDE AND/OR EXPLAIN THE MEANS OF CARBON
 MONOXIDE PROTECTION TO UNITS ATTACHED TO AND ABOVE THE
 PARKING GARAGES, IN THE ENGINEERED DRAWINGS.
  
 6) THE BUILDING ADDRESS SHALL BE CLEARLY VISIBLE FROM
 ALL ACCESS ROADWAYS, INCLUDING DURING CONSTRUCTION.
 ADDRESS NUMBERS SHALL CONTRAST WITH THEIR BACKGROUND
 AND SHALL NOT BE LESS THAN SIX (6) INCHES IN HEIGHT
 WITH A ONE (1) INCH STROKE FOR ALL BUILDINGS.
  
 7) SMOKE ALARMS ARE REQUIRED IN EVERY SLEEPING ROOM AND
 OUTSIDE OF THE SLEEPING ROOMS AND IN ALL LEVELS OF THE
 DWELLING UNITS. THESE DETECTORS SHALL BE HARD WIRED AND
 SHALL BE INTERCONNECTED TO ONE ANOTHER.
  
 8) FIRE ALARM NOTIFICATION DEVICES DO NOT APPEAR TO BE
 PLACED IN THE LIVING ROOM/KITCHEN AREA. PLEASE REVIEW
 AND CORRECT AS NEEDED TO ENSURE COMPLIANCE WITH NFPA 72
 AND NFPA 101 REQUIREMENTS.
  
 9) BASED ON THE LOCATION OF THE NOTIFICATION DEVICES IN
 THE CORRIDORS, THE REQUIRED DECIBEL LEVELS IN THE
 GARAGE MAY NOT BE MET.
  
 10) ALL ELEVATORS SHALL BE EQUIPPED WITH A REGION 7
 KEYWAY SYSTEM.
  
 11) ANY BUILDING THAT IS MORE THAN THREE STORIES HIGH
 OR IN WHICH THE VERTICAL DISTANCE BETWEEN THE BOTTOM
 TERMINAL LANDING AND THE TOP TERMINAL LANDING EXCEEDS
 25 FEET MUST BE CONSTRUCTED TO CONTAIN AT LEAST ONE
 PASSENGER ELEVATOR THAT IS OPERATIONAL AND WILL
 ACCOMMODATE AN AMBULANCE STRETCHER 76 INCHES LONG AND
 24 INCHES WIDE IN THE HORIZONTAL POSITION.
