 RESPONSE COMMENT: SHEET A.1 INDICATES AN INCORRECT
 OCCUPANT LOAD FACTOR OF 30 SQUARE FEET PER PERSON.
 REFER TO NFPA 101 TABLE 7.3.1.2 FOR CORRECT LOAD
 FACTORS. THE CALCULATED OCCUPANT LOAD AFFECTS THE
 REMAININGL REVIEW COMMENTS.
 REPEAT COMMENT: THIS TENANT SPACE WILL NEED TO BE
 DESIGNED FOR THE GREATEST OCCUPANT LOAD POSSIBLE BASED
 UPON INTENDED USE. A REDUCTION IN OCCUPANT LOAD FOR THE
 SAKE OF DESIGNING THE LIFE SAFETY SYSTEMS (MEANS OF
 EGRESS, FIRE ALARM, FIRE SPRINKLER, ETC. ) IS GENERALLY
 NOT ACCEPTED. PER NFPA 101 SECTION 12.1.7.1. THE
 OCCUPANT LOAD, IN NUMBER OF PERSONS FOR WHOM MEANS OF
 EGRESS AND OTHER PROVISIONS ARE REQUIRED, SHALL BE
 DETERMINED ON THE BASIS OF THE OCCUPANT LOAD FACTORS OF
 TABLE 7.3.1.2 THAT ARE CHARACTERISTIC OF THE USE OF THE
 SPACE OR SHALL BE DETERMINED AS THE MAXIMUM PROBABLE
 POPULATION OF THE SPACE UNDER CONSIDERATION, WHICHEVER
 IS GREATER. THE PLANS CURRENTLY DO NOT INDICATE ANY
 TABLES OR CHAIRS TO JUSTIFY AN OCCUPANT LOAD FACTOR OF
 15 SQ.FT. PER PERSON OR GREATER.
  
 REPEAT COMMENTS:
 THE MAIN ENTRANCE STAIR AND DOORS DO NOT APPEAR WIDE
 ENOUGH TO ACCOMODATE THE MAXIMUM POTENTIAL OCCUPANT
 LOAD AS CALCULATED IN THE PREVIOUS COMMENT. PER NFPA
 101 SECTION12.2.3.6.4 ACCESS TO THE MAIN ENTRANCE/EXIT
 SHALL BE AS FOLLOWS:
 (1) EACH LEVEL OF THE ASSEMBLY OCCUPANCY SHALL HAVE
 ACCESS TO THE MAIN ENTRANCE/EXIT, AND SUCH ACCESS SHALL
 HAVE THE CAPACITY TO ACCOMMODATE TWO-THIRDS OF THE
 OCCUPANT LOAD OF SUCH LEVELS IN THE FOLLOWING ASSEMBLY
 OCCUPANCIES:
 (A) BARS WITH LIVE ENTERTAINMENT
 (B) DANCE HALLS
 (C) DISCOTHEQUES
 (D) NIGHTCLUBS
 (E) ASSEMBLY OCCUPANCIES WITH FESTIVAL SEATING
 (2) IN ASSEMBLY OCCUPANCIES, OTHER THAN THOSE LISTED IN
 12.2.3.6.4(1), EACH LEVEL OF THE ASSEMBLY OCCUPANCY
 SHALL HAVE ACCESS TO THE MAIN ENTRANCE/EXIT, AND SUCH
 ACCESS SHALL HAVE THE CAPACITY TO ACCOMMODATE ONE-HALF
 OF THE OCCUPANT LOAD OF SUCH LEVELS.
  
 INSUFFICIENT SECONDARY EXITS PROVIDED TO ACCOMODATE
 MAXIMUM POTENTIAL OCCUPANT LOAD. PER NFPA 101 SECTION
 12.2.3.7 OTHER EXITS. EACH LEVEL OF AN ASSEMBLY
 OCCUPANCY SHALL HAVE ACCESS TO THE MAIN ENTRANCE/EXIT
 AND SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH ADDITIONAL EXITS OF A WIDTH
 TO ACCOMMODATE NOT LESS THAN ONE-HALF OF THE TOTAL
 OCCUPANT LOAD SERVED BY THAT LEVEL.
  
 THE CURRENT FIRE ALARM SYSTEM FEATURES HORN-STROBE
 NOTIFICATION APPLIANCES AND THERE ARE AN INSUFFICIENT
 NUMBER OF DEVICES. ONCE THE ASSEMBLY OCCUPANCY EXCEEDS
 300 PERSONS, THE FIRE ALARM SYSTEM NEEDS TO BE UPGRADED
 TO INCLUDE VOICE EVACUATION CAPABILITIES WITH
 SPEAKER-STROBE NOTIFICATION DEVICES PER NFPA 101
 SECTION 12.3.4.3.3.
  
 INSUFFICIENT EMERGENCY LIGHTING EXISTS IN THIS TENANT
 SPACE. EMERGENCY ILLUMINATION SHALL BE PROVIDED FOR A
 MINIMUM OF 1.5 HOURS IN THE EVENT OF FAILURE OF NORMAL
 LIGHTING. EMERGENCY LIGHTING FACILITIES SHALL BE
 ARRANGED TO PROVIDE INITIAL ILLUMINATION THAT IS NOT
 LESS THAN AN AVERAGE OF 1 FT-CANDLE AND, AT ANY POINT,
 NOT LESS THAN 0.1 FT-CANDLE, MEASURED ALONG THE PATH OF
 EGRESS AT FLOOR LEVEL.
  
 FOR EACH EVENT, A SPECIAL EVENT PERMIT WILL BE NEEDED
 SHOWING THE EVENT TYPE, EVENT DATES, FURNITURE LAYOUT,
 # OF OCCUPANTS, INTERIOR FINISH MATERIALS, CROWD
 MANAGERS, ETC. A PLAN REVIEW AND FIRE INSPECTION WILL
 BE PERFORMED AT ADDITIONAL CHARGES FOR EACH EVENT
 ENSURING THE SAFETY OF THE EVENTS. PER NFPA 101 SECTION
 12.7.6.1 ASSEMBLY OCCUPANCIES SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH A
 MINIMUM OF ONE TRAINED CROWD MANAGER OR CROWD MANAGER
 SUPERVISOR. WHERE THE OCCUPANT LOAD EXCEEDS 250,
 ADDITIONAL TRAINED CROWD MANAGERS OR CROWD MANAGER
 SUPERVISORS SHALL BE PROVIDED AT A RATIO OF ONE CROWD
 MANAGER OR CROWD MANAGER SUPERVISOR FOR EVERY 250
 OCCUPANTS. THE CROWD MANAGER SHALL RECEIVE APPROVED
 TRAINING IN CROWD MANAGEMENT TECHNIQUES.
