 ADMINISTRATION
  
 2014 EXISTING BUILDING CODE LEVEL II 701.3 COMPLIANCE.
 ALL NEW CONSTRUCTION ELEMENTS, COMPONENTS, SYSTEMS, AND
 SPACES SHALL COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE
 FLORIDA BUILDING CODE, BUILDING.

 ACTION: DENIED
  
 1) SHEET A-1 & LIFE SAFETY WILL REQUIRE RATED
 CORRIDORS. THE CORRIDOR IS A LOOPED SYSTEM. TAKING THE
 DIAGONAL OPPOSITE WHAT IS LAID OUT IN THE LIFE SAFETY
 SHEET WILL MAKE THE LONGEST TRAVEL DISTANCE TO AN EXIT,
 IN EACH CASE THE OCCUPANT LOAD WOULD BE OVER 30
 OCCUPANTS SEE FBC-B TABLE 1018.1, BUSINESS OCCUPANCY
 WHEN THE CORRIDOR SERVES AN OCCUPANT LOAD GREATER THAN
 30 IN A NON-SPRINKLERED BUILDING.
  
 1A) FBC-B 1018.6 CORRIDOR CONTINUITY.
 FIRE-RESISTANCE-RATED CORRIDORS SHALL BE CONTINUOUS
 FROM THE POINT OF ENTRY TO AN EXIT, AND SHALL NOT BE
 INTERRUPTED BY INTERVENING ROOMS. WHERE THE PATH OF
 EGRESS TRAVEL WITHIN A FIRE-RESISTANCE-RATED CORRIDOR
 TO THE EXIT INCLUDES TRAVEL ALONG UNENCLOSED EXIT
 ACCESS STAIRWAYS OR RAMPS, THE FIRE RESISTANCE-RATING
 SHALL BE CONTINUOUS FOR THE LENGTH OF THE STAIRWAY OR
 RAMP AND FOR THE LENGTH OF THE CONNECTING CORRIDOR ON
 THE ADJACENT FLOOR LEADING TO THE EXIT.
  
 1B) FBC-B 1018.1 CONSTRUCTION. CORRIDORS SHALL BE
 FIRE-RESISTANCE RATED IN ACCORDANCE WITH TABLE 1018.1.
 THE CORRIDOR WALLS REQUIRED TO BE FIRE-RESISTANCE RATED
 SHALL COMPLY WITH SECTION 708 FOR FIRE PARTITIONS.
 708.3 FIRE-RESISTANCE RATING. FIRE PARTITIONS SHALL
 HAVE A FIRE RESISTANCE RATING OF NOT LESS THAN 1 HOUR.
  
 1C) FBC-B 708.4 CONTINUITY. FIRE PARTITIONS SHALL
 EXTEND FROM THE TOP OF THE FOUNDATION OR FLOOR/CEILING
 ASSEMBLY BELOW TO THE UNDERSIDE OF THE FLOOR OR ROOF
 SHEATHING, SLAB OR DECK ABOVE OR TO THE
 FIRE-RESISTANCE-RATED FLOOR/CEILING OR ROOF/CEILING
 ASSEMBLY ABOVE, AND SHALL BE SECURELY ATTACHED THERETO.
  
 1D) FBC-B 717.5.4 FIRE PARTITIONS. DUCTS AND AIR
 TRANSFER OPENINGS THAT PENETRATE FIRE PARTITIONS SHALL
 BE PROTECTED WITH LISTED FIRE DAMPERS INSTALLED IN
 ACCORDANCE WITH THEIR LISTING.
  
 1E) FBC-B 717.4 ACCESS AND IDENTIFICATION.
 FIRE AND SMOKE DAMPERS SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH AN
 APPROVED MEANS OF ACCESS, WHICH IS LARGE ENOUGH TO
 PERMIT INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE OF THE DAMPER AND ITS
 OPERATING PARTS. THE ACCESS SHALL NOT AFFECT THE
 INTEGRITY OF FIRE-RESISTANCE-RATED ASSEMBLIES. THE
 ACCESS OPENINGS SHALL NOT REDUCE THE FIRE-RESISTANCE
 RATING OF THE ASSEMBLY. ACCESS POINTS SHALL BE
 PERMANENTLY IDENTIFIED ON THE EXTERIOR BY A LABEL
 HAVING LETTERS NOT LESS THAN 1/2 INCH (12.7 MM) IN
 HEIGHT READING: FIRE/SMOKE DAMPER, SMOKE DAMPER OR FIRE
 DAMPER. ACCESS DOORS IN DUCTS SHALL BE TIGHT FITTING
 AND SUITABLE FOR THE REQUIRED DUCT CONSTRUCTION.
  
 1F) FBC-B 703.7 MARKING AND IDENTIFICATION.
 FIRE WALLS, FIRE BARRIERS, FIRE PARTITIONS, SMOKE
 BARRIERS AND SMOKE PARTITIONS OR ANY OTHER WALL
 REQUIRED TO HAVE PROTECTED OPENINGS OR PENETRATIONS
 SHALL BE EFFECTIVELY AND PERMANENTLY IDENTIFIED WITH
 SIGNS OR STENCILING. SUCH IDENTIFICATION SHALL:
 1F) 1. BE LOCATED IN ACCESSIBLE CONCEALED FLOOR,
 FLOOR-CEILING OR ATTIC SPACES;
 1F) 2. BE LOCATED WITHIN 15 FEET (4572 MM ) OF THE END
 OF EACH WALL AND AT INTERVALS NOT EXCEEDING 30 FEET
 MEASURED HORIZONTALLY ALONG THE WALL OR PARTITION; AND
 1F) 3. INCLUDE LETTERING NOT LESS THAN 3 INCHES (76 MM
 ) IN HEIGHT WITH A MINIMUM 3/8 INCH (9.5 MM) STROKE IN
 A CONTRASTING COLOR INCORPORATING THE SUGGESTED
 WORDING. ?FIRE AND/OR SMOKE BARRIER?PROTECT ALL
 OPENINGS? OR OTHER WORDING.
