 PLEASE ADDRESS THE ITEMS NOTED BELOW:
  
 1) SUBMIT TWO SETS OF A SURVEY AND A SITE PLAN THAT
 SHOWS THE LOCATION OF THE ADDITION AND THE DISTANCES TO
 PROPERTY LINES AND OTHER STRUCTURES ON THE PROPERTY.
 FBC 107.2.1
  
 2) THE ENERGY COMPLIANCE FOR IS REQUIRED TO BE SIGNED
 AND DATED BY THE PERSON THAT PREPARES IT AND THE BOXES
 IN TABLE R402 THAT APPLY HAVE NOT BEEN CHECKED. SEE
 GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS NUMBERS 3 AND 4 ON PAGE ONE OF
 FORM R402-2014.
  
 3) RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION PLANS ARE REQUIRED TO
 DESIGNED FOR WIND USING ONE OF THE PRESCRIPTIVE METHODS
 SPECIFIED IN FBCR 301.2.1.1 OR BE DESIGNED BY A FLORIDA
 LICENSED ENGINEER OR ARCHITECT. THE PLANS THAT WERE
 SUBMITTED DO NOT COMPLY WITH A PRESCRIPTIVE METHOD OF
 CONSTRUCTION.
  
 4) SPECIFY THE WIND DESIGN DATA ON THE PLANS. WIND
 SPEED, EXPOSURE CATEGORY, ETC. FBC-R301.2.1
  
 5) THE ICC PRESCRIPTIVE DESIGN MANUAL REQUIRES THE
 FOUNDATION TO BE REINFORCED CONCRETE. FOR A STEM WALL
 THE FOUNDATION IS REQUIRED TO HAVE A MINIMUM THICKNESS
 OF 10 INCHES AND A MINIMUM WIDTH OF 20 INCHES WITH TWO
 NUMBER 5 (5/8") CONTINUOUS REINFORCING BARS. THE BOTTOM
 OF THE FOOTING IS REQUIRED TO BE 12 INCHES BELOW GRADE.
 THE CONCRETE BLOCK STEM WALL IS REQUIRED TO HAVE #5
 VERTICAL REINFORCING BARS SPACED 4 FEET ON CENTER AND
 AN 8" X 8" BOND BEAM WITH ONE #5 AT THE TOP. A 2 X 8
 PRESSURE TREATED SILL PLATE IS THEN PLACED FLAT ON TOP
 OF THE 8" BOND BEAM AND SECURED WITH 5/8" J BOLTS WITH
 3" X 3" X 1/8" WASHERS AT 1- 1/2 FEET ON CENTER. THE
 RIM JOIST AND FLOOR JOIST ARE INSTALLED AND ANCHORED TO
 THE SILL PLATE. IN PLATFORM FRAMING THE FLOOR SHEATHING
 IS INSTALLED AND THEN THE EXTERIOR WALLS ARE FRAMED AND
 CONNECTED OR STRAPPED TO THE FLOOR SYSTEM. YOU WILL
 NEED TO SPECIFY THE CONNECTORS THAT WILL BE USED AND
 SHOW THIS INFORMATION ON THE PLANS OR YOU MAY USE ONE
 OF THE OTHER DESIGN OPTIONS. FBC 107.2.1
  
 6) THE TWO # 5 REINFORCING BARS IN THE NEW STEM WALL
 FOOTING WILL NEED TO BE DOWELED INTO THE EXISTING
 FOOTING TO PREVENT UNEVEN SETTLEMENT. FBC R403
  
 7) SHOW COMPLIANCE WITH FBC R318.1 FOR TERMITE
 PROTECTION.
  
 8) INDICATE THE SPECIFIC HURRICANE STRAPS AND
 CONNECTORS THAT WILL BE USED TO PROVIDE THE CONTINUOUS
 LOAD PATH. FBC R301.1 & FBC 107.2.1
  
 9) THE BUILDING SECTION (SIDE PROFILE) DOES NOT SHOW
 THE FLOOR FRAMING. SPECIFY THE CLEARANCE FROM GRADE TO
 THE FLOOR SYSTEM ON THE PLANS. SHOW COMPLIANCE WITH FBC
 R317.1 PROTECTION OF WOOD AND WOOD BASED PRODUCTS FROM
 DECAY SHALL BE PROVIDED IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS BY
 THE USE OF NATURALLY DURABLE WOOD OR WOOD THAT IS
 PRESERVATIVE-TREATED IN ACCORDANCE WITH AWPA U1 FOR THE
 SPECIES, PRODUCT, PRESERVATIVE AND END USE.
 PRESERVATIVES SHALL BE LISTED IN SECTION 4 OF AWPA U1.
 1. WOOD JOISTS OR THE BOTTOM OF A WOOD STRUCTURAL FLOOR
 WHEN CLOSER THAN 18 INCHES (457 MM) OR WOOD GIRDERS
 WHEN CLOSER THAN 12 INCHES (305 MM) TO THE EXPOSED
 GROUND IN CRAWL SPACES OR UNEXCAVATED AREA LOCATED
 WITHIN THE PERIPHERY OF THE BUILDING FOUNDATION.
  
 10) IDENTIFY THE SPECIES AND GRADE OF LOAD BEARING
 DIMENSION LUMBER THAT WILL BE USED FOR JOISTS, BEAMS,
 STUDS, PLATES, HEADERS, RAFTERS ON THE PLANS. FBC
 R502.1, 602.1 AND 802.1.1
  
 11) SHOW COMPLIANCE WITH R408.1 VENTILATION. THE
 UNDER-FLOOR SPACE BETWEEN THE BOTTOM OF THE FLOOR
 JOISTS AND THE EARTH UNDER ANY BUILDING (EXCEPT SPACE
 OCCUPIED BY A BASEMENT) SHALL HAVE VENTILATION OPENINGS
 THROUGH FOUNDATION WALLS OR EXTERIOR WALLS. THE MINIMUM
 NET AREA OF VENTILATION OPENINGS SHALL NOT BE LESS THAN
 1 SQUARE FOOT (0.0929 M2) FOR EACH 150 SQUARE FEET (14
 M2) OF UNDER-FLOOR SPACE AREA, UNLESS THE GROUND
 SURFACE IS COVERED BY A CLASS 1 VAPOR RETARDER
 MATERIAL. WHEN A CLASS 1 VAPOR RETARDER MATERIAL IS
 USED, THE MINIMUM NET AREA OF VENTILATION OPENINGS
 SHALL NOT BE LESS THAN 1 SQUARE FOOT (0.0929 M2) FOR
 EACH 1,500 SQUARE FEET (140 M2) OF UNDER-FLOOR SPACE
 AREA. ONE SUCH VENTILATING OPENING SHALL BE WITHIN 3
 FEET (914 MM) OF EACH CORNER OF THE BUILDING.
  
 12) SHOW COMPLIANCE WITH R408.4 ACCESS. ACCESS SHALL BE
 PROVIDED TO ALL UNDER-FLOOR SPACES. ACCESS OPENINGS
 THROUGH THE FLOOR SHALL BE A MINIMUM OF 18 INCHES BY 24
 INCHES (457 MM BY 610 MM). OPENINGS THROUGH A PERIMETER
 WALL SHALL BE NOT LESS THAN 16 INCHES BY 24 INCHES (407
 MM BY 610 MM). WHEN ANY PORTION OF THE THROUGH-WALL
 ACCESS IS BELOW GRADE, AN AREAWAY NOT LESS THAN 16
 INCHES BY 24 INCHES (407 MM BY 610 MM) SHALL BE
 PROVIDED. THE BOTTOM OF THE AREAWAY SHALL BE BELOW THE
 THRESHOLD OF THE ACCESS OPENING. THROUGH WALL ACCESS
 OPENINGS SHALL NOT BE LOCATED UNDER A DOOR TO THE
 RESIDENCE. SEE SECTION M1305.1.4 FOR ACCESS
 REQUIREMENTS WHERE MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT IS LOCATED
 UNDER FLOORS.
  
 13) SPECIFY THE NUMBER OF 16D NAILS TO BE IN EACH STUD
 TO ATTACH THE 2 X 8 LEDGER TO THE EXISTING WALL FOR THE
 ROOF RAFTERS AND SPECIFY A HANGER OR ANOTHER TYPE OF
 CONNECTOR OTHER THAN A STRAP. NOTE: MOST STRAPS DO NOT
 PROVIDE LATERAL SUPPORT. FBC 107.2.1 AND R301.1
  
 14) SHOW COMPLIANCE WITH FBC R806.1 VENTILATION
 REQUIRED. ENCLOSED ATTICS AND ENCLOSED RAFTER SPACES
 FORMED WHERE CEILINGS ARE APPLIED DIRECTLY TO THE
 UNDERSIDE OF ROOF RAFTERS SHALL HAVE CROSS VENTILATION
 FOR EACH SEPARATE SPACE BY VENTILATING OPENINGS
 PROTECTED AGAINST THE ENTRANCE OF RAIN OR SNOW.
 VENTILATION OPENINGS SHALL HAVE A LEAST DIMENSION OF
 1/16 INCH (1.6 MM) MINIMUM AND 1/4 INCH (6.4 MM)
 MAXIMUM. VENTILATION OPENINGS HAVING A LEAST DIMENSION
 LARGER THAN 1/4 INCH (6.4 MM) SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH
 CORROSION-RESISTANT WIRE CLOTH SCREENING, HARDWARE
 CLOTH, OR SIMILAR MATERIAL WITH OPENINGS HAVING A LEAST
 DIMENSION OF 1/16 INCH (1.6 MM) MINIMUM AND 1/4 INCH
 (6.4 MM) MAXIMUM. OPENINGS IN ROOF FRAMING MEMBERS
 SHALL CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF SECTION R802.1.8.
 REQUIRED VENTILATION OPENINGS SHALL OPEN DIRECTLY TO
 THE OUTSIDE AIR.
  
 15) THE ENERGY CODE AND THE COMPLIANCE FORM REQUIRES
 R-30 CEILING INSULATION. R-30 BATT INSULATION IS 9-1/2"
 THICK AND THE RAFTERS SHOWN ON THE PLANS ARE 2 X 6,
 WHICH ARE 5-1/2". THE INSULATION LOSES ITS R-VALUE IF
 IT IS COMPRESSED AND ADDITIONAL ROOM IS REQUIRED FOR
 THE VENTILATION AIR TO CIRCULATE. SHOW HOW THESE ISSUES
 WILL BE RESOLVED. FBC 107.2.1
  
 16) SPECIFY WHAT MATERIALS WILL BE USED TO COVER THE
 INTERIOR WALLS AND CEILING. ( 1/2" DRYWALL, ETC.) FBC
 R702.1
  
 17) SHOW COMPLIANCE WITH R703.2 WATER-RESISTIVE
 BARRIER. ONE LAYER OF NO. 15 ASPHALT FELT, FREE FROM
 HOLES AND BREAKS, COMPLYING WITH ASTM D 226 FOR TYPE 1
 FELT OR OTHER APPROVED WATER-RESISTIVE BARRIER SHALL BE
 APPLIED OVER STUDS OR SHEATHING OF ALL EXTERIOR WALLS.
 SUCH FELT OR MATERIAL SHALL BE APPLIED HORIZONTALLY,
 WITH THE UPPER LAYER LAPPED OVER THE LOWER LAYER NOT
 LESS THAN 2 INCHES (51 MM). WHERE JOINTS OCCUR, FELT
 SHALL BE LAPPED NOT LESS THAN 6 INCHES (152 MM). THE
 FELT OR OTHER APPROVED MATERIAL SHALL BE CONTINUOUS TO
 THE TOP OF WALLS AND TERMINATED AT PENETRATIONS AND
 BUILDING APPENDAGES IN A MANNER TO MEET THE
 REQUIREMENTS OF THE EXTERIOR WALL ENVELOPE AS DESCRIBED
 IN SECTION R703.1.
  
 18) SHOW COMPLIANCE WITH R703.6.3 WATER-RESISTIVE
 BARRIERS SHALL BE INSTALLED AS REQUIRED IN SECTION
 R703.2 AND, WHERE APPLIED OVER WOOD-BASED SHEATHING,
 SHALL INCLUDE A WATER-RESISTIVE VAPOR-PERMEABLE BARRIER
 WITH A PERFORMANCE AT LEAST EQUIVALENT TO TWO LAYERS OF
 GRADE D PAPER. THE INDIVIDUAL LAYERS SHALL BE INSTALLED
 INDEPENDENTLY SUCH THAT EACH LAYER PROVIDES A SEPARATE
 CONTINUOUS PLANE AND ANY FLASHING (INSTALLED IN
 ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION R703.8) INTENDED TO DRAIN TO
 THE WATER-RESISTIVE BARRIER IS DIRECTED BETWEEN THE
 LAYERS.
  
 19) IN ORDER TO REDUCE PLAN REVIEW TIME, PLEASE SUBMIT
 A RESPONSE LETTER INDICATING HOW EACH OF THE REVIEW
