 PLEASE PROVIDE A WRITTEN RESPONSE TO THE FOLLOWING PLAN
 REVIEW COMMENTS:
  
 1. PURSUANT TO THE PALM BEACH ZOO?S LEASE AGREEMENT
 WITH THE CITY OF WEST PALM BEACH, INDIVIDUAL STRUCTURES
 OR IMPROVEMENTS IN EXCESS OF $5,000 ARE TO BE SUBMITTED
 TO THE CITY COMMISSION FOR PRIOR APPROVAL AS SUCH
 IMPROVEMENTS WOULD OCCUR ON CITY-OWNED PROPERTY.
  
 2. PLEASE PROVIDE TWO (2) COPIES OF A CURRENT AND
 ACCURATE SURVEY.
  
 3. PLEASE PROVIDE TWO (2) COPIES OF A SITE PLAN SHOWING
 THE LOCATION OF THE PROPOSED CANOPY. BE SURE TO PROVIDE
 THE SETBACKS FROM THE CANOPY TO THE SURROUNDING
 PROPERTY LINES.
  
 4. IT APPEARS THAT THE PROPOSED COLUMNS/FOUNDATIONS FOR
 THE CANOPY WILL CONFLICT WITH EXISTING PARKING SPACES.
 PER THE CITY?S ZLDRS, PARKING SPACES ARE TO BE A
 MINIMUM OF 18 FEET IN LENGTH. THERE ARE A COUPLE
 ALTERNATIVES:
  
 A. LOCATE THE COLUMNS TO THE FRONT CORNER OF THE
 PARKING SPACE BETWEEN THE DOUBLE-STRIPING; OR
  
 B. IF THE COLUMN ENCROACHES BUT THE SPACE WILL BE AT
 LEAST 16 FEET IN LENGTH, THEN THE SPACE CAN BE
 DESIGNATED AS ?COMPACT?. IF THIS OPTION IS CHOSEN,
 PLEASE PROVIDE THE DIMENSION FROM THE COLUMN TO THE
 BACK OF THE PARKING SPACE AND A PARKING DATA TABLE
 SHALL BE PROVIDED INDICATING THE TOTAL NUMBER OF
 PARKING SPACES PROVIDED AT THE ZOO AND HOW MANY OF THEM
 ARE DESIGNATED AS COMPACT. THE NUMBER OF COMPACT SPACES
 SHALL NOT EXCEED 30% OF THE OVERALL PARKING.
  
 5. THE PROPOSED CANOPY ENCROACHES INTO THE PARKING LOT
 LANDSCAPE ISLANDS. PURSUANT TO THE ZLDRS, THESE ISLANDS
 ARE REQUIRED AND SHALL HAVE A SHADE/FLOWERING TREE AT
 THE END OF EACH ROW OF PARKING.
  
 6. REMOVAL OF TREES SHALL REQUIRE THE ISSUANCE OF A
 TREE ALTERATION PERMIT FROM THE CITY?S DEVELOPMENT
 SERVICES DEPARTMENT - PLANNING DIVISION. PLEASE CONTACT
 RAY CARANCI, LANDSCAPE PLANNER, AT 561.822.1462.
  
 7. PLEASE CONFIRM THAT PLACEMENT OF THE TRANSFORMER,
 ETC. WILL NOT CONFLICT WITH EXISTING TREES/PALMS. SEE
 NOTE #6. ADDITIONALLY, LANDSCAPING (SHRUBS/HEDGES)
 SHALL BE PROVIDED AROUND THE ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT TO
 SCREEN IT FROM VIEW.
