 SPACES SHALL COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE
 FLORIDA BUILDING CODE, BUILDING.

 1) THE SITE PLAN SHOWS THE PROPERTY LINE ALL THE WAY TO
 THE STREET, IT APPEARS THE CITY SIDEWALK IS ON PRIVATE
 PROPERTY AND NOT IN THE RIGHT OF WAY. PLEASE PROVIDE A
 SURVEY THAT IDENTIFIES THE ACTUAL CORNERS OF THE
 PROPERTY.
  
 2) SHEET A2.1 ON THE FRONT ENTRY, IT APPEARS THE NEW
 DOORS ARE SWINGING OUT OVER THE PROPERTY LINE. PLEASE
 SHOW COMPLIANCE WITH 2014 FBC-B 3202.2.2 DOORS AND
 WINDOWS SHALL NOT OPEN OR PROJECT INTO THE PUBLIC
 RIGHT-OF-WAY.
  
 3) THE STRUCTURAL SHEET 5.1 SHOWS NEW STEEL COLUMNS
 BEING WELDED TO AN EXISITNG W20X BEAM AS WELL AS NEW
 STEEL COLUMNS BEING WELDED ON THE 2ND FLOOR TO THE
 EXISITNG W20X BEAM. NORMALLY THIS WOULD REQUIRE A
 RESIDENT INSPECTOR FOR BOLTED AND WELDED CONNECTIONS.
 110.3.9 OTHER INSPECTIONS SERVICES7. FOR BUILDINGS AND
 STRUCTURES OF UNUSUAL DESIGN OR METHODS OF
 CONSTRUCTION, BOLTED AND WELDED CONNECTIONS. PLEASE
 CONTACT THE CHIEF BUILDING INSPECTOR KEN CONRAD TO SEE
 IF HE WILL REQUIRE THE RESIDENT INSPECTOR OR IF A
 WELDING CERTIFICATE FROM THE ONSITE WELDER WILL SUFFICE
 AND THE USE OF CITY BUILDING INSPECTORS.

 LEGEND IS ON SHEET A7.1. THE PLANS SUBMITTED ONLY HAS
 PAGES UP TO A6.1 AS DOES THE INDEX. WALL FIRE RATINGS
 CAN NOT BE IDENTIFIED AT THIS TIME.
  
 5A) SHEET A2.1 SHOWS (2) ROOMS LOCATED BENEATH THE
 STAIRS, THE RESTROOM 102 AND THE MECHANICAL ROOM 103.
 NOT HAVING A WALL LEGEND THAT IDENTIFIES THE TYPE OF
 WALLS PLEASE PROVIDE COMPLIANCE WITH THE 2014 FBC-B;
 1009.9.3 ENCLOSURES UNDER INTERIOR STAIRWAYS.
 THE WALLS CEILINGS AND SOFFITS WITHIN ENCLOSED USABLE
 SPACES UNDER ENCLOSED AND UNENCLOSED STAIRWAYS SHALL BE
 PROTECTED BY 1-HOUR FIRE-RESISTANCE-RATED CONSTRUCTION
 OR THE FIRE-RESISTANCE RATING OF THE STAIRWAY
 ENCLOSURE, WHICHEVER IS GREATER. ACCESS TO THE ENCLOSED
 SPACE SHALL NOT BE DIRECTLY FROM WITHIN THE STAIR
 ENCLOSURE.
  
 5B) THE BATHROOM AND MECHANICAL ROOM BENEATH THE
 ENCLOSED STAIR ENCLOSURE HAVING TO HAVE 1 HOUR FIRE
 RATING THE DOORS WILL ALSO NEED TO HAVE A FIRE RATING

 6) PLEASE BE AWARE OF AN ERROR IN FBC-B TABLE 508.4 FOR
 FIRE RATINGS BETWEEN S1 AND S2 OCCUPANCIES. PLEASE

 QUESTION:
 IS IT THE INTENT OF TABLE 508.4 TO REQUIRE A (1HR (S),
 2HR (NS)) SEPARATION BETWEEN B AND S-2 OCCUPANCY AND NO
 SEPARATION REQUIREMENT BETWEEN B AND S-1 OCCUPANCY?
 COMMENT:
 PER CHAPTER 3, S-2 OCCUPANCY ARE DEFINED AS LOW- HAZARD
 STORAGE, WHERE AS S-1 OCCUPANCY IS DEFINED AS
 MODERATE-HAZARD OCCUPANCY. THE STORED MATERIALS LIST
 FOR S-1 OCCUPANCY IS MUCH MORE HAZARDOUS THAN THE LIST
 FOR S-2 OCCUPANCY AND ONE WOULD THINK THAT THE S-1
 OCCUPANCY WOULD REQUIRE THE SEPARATION AND THE S-2
 OCCUPANCY WOULD NOT.
 ANSWER:
 BASED ON THE INFORMATION REVIEWED, IT APPEARS YOU ARE
 CORRECT THAT A TYPO EXISTS. THE BEST APPROACH FOR THIS
 PARTICULAR ISSUE WOULD BE EITHER A FORMAL
 INTERPRETATION WHICH HAS STANDING OR A DEC STATEMENT
 FROM THE FLORIDA BUILDING COMMISSION. PLEASE SEE THE
 COMMENTARY BELOW.
 COMMENTARY:
 TABLE 508.4 DOES APPEAR TO HAVE A TYPO. THE 2001
 FLORIDA BUILDING CODE, TABLE 704.1 REQUIRED A 3 HOUR
 SEPARATION FOR S1 AND A 2 HOUR SEPARATION FOR S2. IN
 THE 2004 CODE TABLE 706.3.7 ALSO REQUIRES 3 HOURS FOR
 S1 AND 2 HOURS FOR S2. THE TYPO APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN
 INTRODUCED WITH TABLE 508.4 IN THE 2007 CODE. TABLE
 508.4 APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN WRONG SINCE ITS INCEPTION.
 SUBMITTING A REQUEST FOR A FORMAL INTERPRETATION WOULD
 PERMIT APPLICATION OF CORRECTION TO THIS ISSUE UNTIL A
 CODE CHANGE CAN BE MADE, IF IT IS NOT ALREADY IN THE
 WORKS.

 LOADS FOR WHICH EACH FLOOR OR PORTION THEREOF OF A
 COMMERCIAL OR INDUSTRIAL BUILDING IS OR HAS BEEN
 DESIGNED TO EXCEED 50 PSF (2.40 KN/M2), SUCH DESIGN
 LIVE LOADS SHALL BE CONSPICUOUSLY POSTED BY THE OWNER

 A ROOF EDGE OR OPEN SIDE OF A WALKING SURFACE AND SUCH
 EDGE OR OPEN SIDE IS LOCATED MORE THAN 30 INCHES (762

 PROVIDED BY A PERMANENT APPROVED MEANS OF ACCESS, THE
